Villas del Rey is a striking oceanfront vacation retreat located on 170 feet of pristine sandy beach in the tranquil Mexican Village of Lo de Marcos, Nayarit.
True hacienda style is present throughout this charming established property which offers accommodations for up to 12 people.
The main house has an enormous living room that offers plenty of space for up to 12 people with a chefs kitchen, big dining area, bar and his and her bathrooms on the first floor. The grand stairway leading to the second floor host 5 bedrooms, each bedroom has it’s own private bathroom and shower, with 3 of the bedrooms having queen size beds and the last 2 bedrooms having a double and a single in each room. Additionally there are private terraces for 3 of the bedrooms and a large terrace on the second floor to accommodate all guest in the main house for relaxing, reading or viewing the beautiful sunsets.
Villas del Rey also offers a one bedroom suite on the first floor that can sleep 2 people. Above this suite on the second floor there is a large studio that will sleep 2 people and next door to that is a smaller studio that will sleep 2 people. These suites are attached to the main house but have a separate entrance, privacy and oceanfront views. In a separate building on the ground floor is another large studio for 2 people also offering oceanfront views. All units have fully equipped kitchens with queensize beds.
Accommodations include maid service, linens, bottled drinking water, cable television, stereo’s with cd player, wireless internet, ceiling fans, shared gas bbq, chaise lounges, beach chairs and hammock. The property also offers a shared swimming pool.
Villas del Rey is the last property on the north end of the beach with unspoiled stunning views of the ocean, estuary and surrounding mountains. Enjoy the peacefulness of the estuary, listening and watching the birds in a true bird waters paradise. To the south end of the wide mile long beach you can swim, snorkel and boogie board in a protective cove or you can walk out along the rocks and see the tide pools that thrive with small fish and marine life. The choices are yours, you may want to simply lay back, read a book and work on your tan and be totally off the clock on a pristine tranquil sandy beach or venture around this quaint little town.

Our group of 4 stayed in the 1 bedroom studio Jan 2-4, 2013. It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We loved the great art all over the property; Lonny, as owner, does much of it himself, and it really shows his playful observant character. For a beachfront property, it was a fantastic deal. The owners live there, so we saw them often, and found them to be friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the area, and just great people. We were able to enjoy a feast for 10 on the outdoor dining table overlooking the sunset on the ocean, which may well be one of our most memorable meals during our holiday. We will absolutely be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

I rented the small Studio at the Villas De Rey in Los De Marcos from Febuary 15 to March 15 in 2012. Stacey and Lonnie helped me feel comfortable and confident with my choice of rental from the first email contact. I was very impressed with all the amenities . It suited my needs perfectly and they went above and beyond as hosts. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed but safe and secure.Many of the quests rebook with them year after year for good reason. The villa is situated beachfront so the views are spectacular and you are within a 7 minute walk to all the activities within the town square. Los De Marcos is a peaceful friendly town and all the locals are extremely gracious and welcoming. I will most certainly go back to the Villa De Rey in the futureRecommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My only regret is that we only had a week to spend here. The reviews are accurate and the hosts were great to us and all the guests. We met some wonderful people and relaxed. The village is quiet and we enjoyed the beach walks and the plant life that adorned the Villa. We will be back for sure, a treasure in Mexico.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The upcoming winter will be the 4th year that we have stayed at Villas Del Rey. It has become our favorite spot due to the beauty of the long empty beach and the simplicity of life in this small Mexican town. There are a number of small family run restaurants in town, fresh fish, and most anything you need can be purchased in the numerous little stores. Expect to see cowboys riding their horses down main street any hour of the day or night, and the veggie and fruit vendor driving his palapa covered truck to your door. Buses, collectivos, and taxis are available to take you for a 20 minute ride to the larger neighboring towns whenever you want to shop or need a faster change of pace. The rental units and grounds are exactly as pictured. Everything is kept clean and beautifully decorated. The owners live on site, so any needs or problems are quickly fixed. Ideal for people who want to get away from crowds and high rise hotels and be on their own. The big rental house is ideal for groups of friends or large families, with separate bathrooms for each of the five upstairs bedrooms, plus separate men's and women's on the main floor. The individual apartment units will only sleep two people. We've stayed in other towns along this coast, but Lo de Marcos and this rental property has become our favorite.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We are living long term at Villas del Rey because it is RIGHT ON THE BEACH! We love the fact that the place is built to what we are now calling American Standards (hot running water, electricity 24*7, WiFi Internet, pool and maid service). You would be surprised how many places we visit are lacking even these assumed necessities. The new pool is a great way to relax after a rough day of playing in the ocean or on the beach. Plenty of shade and sun, and grass and comfortable chairs and the best parts of Mexico without all the land sharks (seriously, can't you see I already own sunglasses and a hat?) Lo de Marcos is a quaint Mexican town that has a lot of old world flavor. If you want the fast scene of partying every night and teen/twenty/thirty somethings hanging out, go to Sayulita or San Pancho, but if you want to slow down, relax, and enjoy a quiet fun filled vacation, then Lo de Marcos is the place to be.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Lo de Marcos is not too busy but close to Sayulita. The place was amazing and the pictures are 'true' to what you will get! Ask the host where to eat out Sugar and Spice: yum!!! Great vacation and super helpful host!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We planned a family reunion two years ago and basically filled up the entire compound. We had such a great time that we are going to make it a tradition...going back again this year. The owners are such an awesome couple...they will help you with whatever you need. We hired the housekeeper to cook us some meals that week...the food was fabulous!!! The pictures that are posted are so accurate...you feel like you have your own little piece of heaven!! If you really want to get away from the tourists and feel like a local...this is the place for you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
