We just returned from a great vacation at Villa Adeste. This was our 5th year at this Villa. Chris and Charlie are always wonderful hosts. There is lots of privacy, everything was well stocked. They did some upgrades this past year, it was better than ever. Thanks for continuing to share your beautiful home with us. As always Skinnys is our favorite place to eat. Donkey Diner now has pizza every night. It was delicious. Coral Bay now has its own Casino!!! This is located next to Donkey Diner, at the Sputnik Bar. Julietta is the owner. She is a delight. She will cook a special dinner for you, her specialty is Carribean Wraps, they were delicious. We even had a visit from a donkey which was a great photo op. Maho is still our favorite beach. Can't wait for next year, we'll be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Villa Adeste is by far my pick for the home to stay in while in Coral Bay! We have stayed in several homes in Coral Bay and this home has it all! The owners Chris and Charlie are very accommodating and helpful. The location of the villa is great as it is centrally located in Coral Bay and close to restaurants and several beaches. We started our day with a swim in the pool and ended it the same way. Evening dinners each night on the deck were amazing! The lower deck by the pool was spectacular! We enjoyed this home so much that several days we never left it. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants it all!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

If you are looking for roomy in all the wrong places , this is it. The kitchen and living area are suited for two people. Four people sharing this space was difficult. Bad tv reception! Kitchen is inadequate at best.. Not enough kitchen utility utensils and what was there was old, grundgy. Water pressure was very poor. Bedrooms were nice as were the bathrooms but one doesn't live in the bedrooms! Furniture is dated, uncomfortable... Very dirty coverings. Would rec view but that is all.Owner response: Very sorry you did not ejoy your stay. Thank you for your information all up-grades have been made.

We just left this wonderful villa last week and I am already eager to return. Our stay was two weeks long as a special family holiday and graduation celebration trip. Every day was absolutely fabulous! We spent the mornings on the veranda drinking coffee, reading, and planning our day at the beach. Every day we choose a different beach to explore and we were never disappointed. We spent the late afternoon by the pool, cooking dinner on the grill, and watching the sun set. The pictures do not fairly represent the beautiful views. They are truly breathtaking! Many times we saw cruise ships pass by outside the bay and gorgeous sailboats anchored inside Coral Bay or Hurricane Hole. From the decks and balconies, we could see the sun rise in the morning and the sun set in the evening. It was amazing. The villa had all the amenities of a home and more. It was very clean and well-maintained with many little welcome details that the owners, Charlie and Chris, provided which were greatly appreciated. We cooked in almost every night using either the pool grill or the fully-equipped villa kitchen, but did enjoy a special dinner at the Aqua Bistro and terrific burgers at Skinny Legs and pizza at the Donkey Diner. The owners provided beach towels, chairs, and a cooler for our days at the beach – all we needed was our sunscreen, suits, and snorkel gear. The house is well suited for most family configurations with a master bedroom and bath on the main level and two master bedrooms with bathrooms on the second level that are accessed from the lower outside balcony. I would also think this configuration would be ideal for several couples who wanted to travel together or extended families. The villa sits on a hill overlooking Coral Bay on the east side of St. John. The owner gave us directions from the ferry that got us right to the house. You have to get used to the steep winding roads and driving on the left side of the road, but once you do that a few times, you’re good to go. The area is quite remote and laid back in comparison to our suburb in Houston with donkeys, goats, and roosters running freely around the island. It was exactly what we wanted – two weeks out of the fast-lane of life. We were sad to say goodbye to Villa Adeste and the island of St. John, but hope to visit again soon. After such a wonderful stay at this villa, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was the most relaxing vacation! It was our third visit to St John but the first on Coral Bay. The pictures are great, but reality was better! Everything the Villa had to offer exceeded our expectations! The views were breathtaking and everything we needed was there. Charlie and Chris made sure everything was perfect for our stay......cooler, beach chairs and towels were available. The pool was great for a dip after the beach as well as an evening dip. The views from the decks were AMAZING!! All the area restaurants were great! We also cooked on the grill as well. The Villa was clean and very well maintained! We want to bring our children next time. We would recommended Villa Adeste to everyone. Thanks Chris and Charlie....John and KrissyRecommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We loved our stay at Villa Adeste!! This was me and my husbands first trip to St.John and we fell in love with the island and this villa. Chris and Charlie were excellent hosts. The layout of the villa was great for the two of us but would work well for larger groups (up to 6 adults) as well. The inside of the villa was very nicely laid out but truthfully we spent most of our time on the covered porches enjoying the views of coral bay and hurricane hole. I naturally woke up early and enjoyed coffee and beautiful sunrises every morning from the upper porch. We really enjoyed the location of the villa in Coral bay. The villa it about half way up Seagrape hill. The first couple of drives up Seagrape hill were an adventure but we quickly got used to driving around the hills of St. John and it became something that we really liked. Since we were up on the hill we got wonderful breezes throughout our stay and didn't need the A/Cs in the bedrooms. Coral bay is on the more relaxed/quieter side of the island, it was very peaceful. We saw a lot of wildlife, donekys, goat, and chickens more on this side of the island than any were else. There were plenty of restaurants and small grocery shops that filled all of our needs so we didn't miss being 30min away from town. Donkey diner and Skinny legs are within walking distance of the villa and both had great food. Donkey diner pizza on Wed and Friday night was delicious. We loved all of the beaches but our favorite was Maho and it was only a 10-12 minute drive from the villa. In truth it didn't seem like the villa was very far from any beach we went, it was a good central location. Our typical day was enjoying breakfast on the porch, packing up the jeep, exploring a morning beach (we were the first ones at several beaches), having lunch (either back at the villa or having lunch out at skinny legs, high tide were our favorites), short nap at the villa, explored an afternoon beach and then dinner (either back at villa or out at Aqua bistro, Miss Lucy's). The villa had two wonderful beach chairs and many beach towels that were great for our daily trips. Also, as a mention we snorkeled daily and rented snorkel gear from Crabby's in Coral bay ($35 for week rental per person). We had a wonderful time on St.John and staying at Villa Adeste made our trip very enjoyable and gave us many great memories. We can't wait to return. Thanks Chris and Charlie.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had an amazing time in Coral Bay. Much thanks to Chris and Charlie. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a memorable one. We had some small issues with our vehicle and they were always available to help us out. So very much appreciated! Their home was absolutely gorgeous with unbelievable views. Everything was so clean and beautiful. Had an unbelievable vacation there with my boyfriend and friends! And some days, we never even left the house. Many of the bars were close by and only a 10 minute ride to all the beautiful beaches and hikes. We are absolutely coming back. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise with us!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We loved staying at Villa Adeste to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. Staying in Coral Bay was our highest priority for our 6th trip to St. John. The panoramic views from this villa are beautiful and the location was perfect for our needs. We loved the layout of the villa, its amenities, cleanliness, and many staple supplies. The covered porch area was a favorite spot for dining, reading and relaxing. A swimming pool is always a must-have feature for us following daily snorkel and beach trips--this was great for 2 adults. No "shallow end" of the pool and rather steep steps might be a problem for toddlers or small children, but was perfect for the 2 of us. The owners of the property were extremely helpful and courteous in planning and while at our stay. Although they resided adjacent to Villa Adeste, we did not see them unless we chose to contact them. We would highly recommend this villa and cannot wait to return with friends or family. We loved dining in the evening at Miss Lucy's, Shipwreck Landing and daytime at Vie's Snack Shack. The highlight of the trip for us is when the owner invited us onto his small boat for an hour-long guided tour of Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole on a gorgeous evening. Spectacular sights--thank you Owner Charlie! We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Villa was just as pretty, if not more, than the pictures. Location is high enough to see both Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole, but low enough on the hill so you can walk to Skinny Legs ( local, VERY casual) diner or to the Donkey Diner, a favorite of my son for breakfast. Property was very clean, very well maintained. Owner was nearby to answer questions, which was a great comfort. They made it very easy for us to fall in love with St. John! Three bedrooms, each with own bathroom. All huge. Note that downstairs bedrooms are only accessible by walking outside on the patio...which was fine for tweens/teens but may not be good for small children. We would love to come again! Be sure to rent a jeep...main town only about 20 minutes away, but hills can be steep....but views are well worth it!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Villa Adeste is a must…. At least if you're wanting to truly enjoy the entire island of St. John. I kid you not, you must stay in Coral Bay and I can assure you that you will not find a better location for easy access to all the beaches. Besides the access, the views from everywhere are magnificent. As you pull into the driveway to park, if you look straight ahead your jaw should drop from the view through your windshield. After you pull yourself together and make your entrance, you will find yourself in the kitchen and living area. Look at the pictures here, they are exact. My wife and I joked about the pictures maybe being doctored but I can assure you, they are not. If you like the the window views in their pictures, it is even more spectacular in person. To the left as you enter is the master and master bath off of the kitchen and living area. Again, see pics here. Actually the master is not posted here but it's vaulted ceilings and dark wood shutters are a fantastic touch. By far the best room but as you see in the pics here, the others are nothing to shake a stick at. Those other bedrooms are located a level below the master/kitchen/living area. To get there from the kitchen/living area, you are forced to walk past the pool and eye popping views of Coral Bay. It's tough, I know. The rooms are just as big and nice as the master, they just don't have the vaulted ceilings. What they do have that is identical to the upper level is a huge deck with the exact same views. You'll really want to spend several hours of each day at this home, but when you feel like getting out nothing is far away. By the way, driving around here isn't bad at all. The only major problem is keeping the driver's eyes on the road because every turn or twist brings a new and dynamic view of St. John. There aren't many places in the world where you can go and see so much uninhabited land. The reason that it is so great is that you can be as active as you wish to be or as sedimentary as you want. I also have to give a big thank you to Chris and Charlie. My wife and I got concerned about our travel plans coinciding with a brewing hurricane. They made sure all our concerns were addressed. They offered different dates, refund, you name it…they just wanted to make sure we would fully enjoy our time there instead of being worried about the weather. Needless to say, we decided to go anyway. After we arrived, I never even checked the weather once. Can't wait to be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
