Winter activities in the surrounding mountains such as skiing and snowboarding complement the hiking, fishing, and biking of summer. There are numerous hiking trails in the area that each offer unique features. The Cougar Crest Trail is a four mile (round trip) trek, one needs plenty of water on this hike. The trail is very dry but as one goes through the steep and rocky hills, they get to see a panoramic view of the lake and surrounding mountains that make it well worth the while.

It has beautiful scenery, a running stream, a waterfall, and a fantastic view of Big Bear Lake once you reach the top. Whether you’re a beginner or expert mountain biker, there is something for everyone. If you do not have a bike, there are some available for rent, as well as helmets too.
