Walkers' Guest House
Why the Owner Chose Port Angeles
We chose to live here after searching five different states to retire to, and realized that this area was the one that always felt like we were coming home. Although the Guest House is on the same property with us, we jealously guard your privacy and try very hard not to disturb you. We built the guest cabin prior to building the main house.... it has evolved into a 'vacation rental' over a period of years. We love sharing the beauty of the Peninsula with folks new to the area.
5 minutes from Guest House. The main surfing spot on the Peninsula. Is right next to Tongue Point Recreation area - a mecca for tide-poolers and bird watchers.
Oldest continuously operated store in the state! If Joyce General don't have it - you don't need it!!
Beautiful alpine lake which is over 600' deep in some areas. It is within the boundaries of Olympic National Park.
A public lake just outside of the Park boundaries - good trout fishing during season. Limited access.
A well done cultural / heritage museum. It is located on your left as you enter the small town of Neah Bay. Good signage...
Westernmost tip of the continental United States. Well paved road to the parking area, and then a short (1/2 mile) trail to the point. Viewpoint looks out to Tatosh Island and the old lighthouse.
A beautiful wide sandy beach facing the Pacific Ocean. On the Makah Indian Reservation.
Dam removal site of a 100 year old dam. Largest project of it's type in the USA.
A natural spit which forms Port Angeles Harbor. US Coast Guard Station on the end of the spit. A great spot to look back at the Olympic Mts. and the City of Port Angeles. Across the water is Vancouver Isl, B.C.
Provides daily trips to Vancouver Isl. via Victoria. Be sure and check schedules and visa requirements
The main visitor center for Olympic National Park. A must stop for all information pertaining to the park. Also a great gift shop.
Swain's has everything! Mainly a sporting goods store - but includes clothing, shoes, plumbing, camping, electrical...... darn near everything except groceries!!
A destination point for kayakers ........Easy access for Kayaks with protection from the winds and waves. Wonderful high cliffs to explore from the water side.
This fantasy house is located at 941 Gardiner Beach Road in Sequim. Drive through the estate and you might see a troll peeking out of a window or perhaps holding up the room of a barn. A nice side trip.....
Internationally renowned bird watching area. Entryway to the longest natural sand-spit in the world, at the end of which is the Dungeness Lighthouse.
Winter: Skiing, snow boarding, tubing, X-country skiing & snow shoeing. A lodge to buy food and souvenirs and warm up. Summer: Wonderful hiking trails, incredible vistas, fantastic wild flowers and wildlife. A MUST see!!
Small fishing villages which are a mecca for salmon fisherman during the season. A nice place to stop while on the way to Neah Bay

My name is Radar. My owners think they own this property, but I pretty much call the shots! My owners are retired and live here on the property with me, but I make sure they don't bother you!

Our month long stay went much to fast! Your Guest House is comfortable with all the conveniences that we like. It's a very special place, so nice and tranquil. What a perfect setting.........to gaze at the Straits or wonderful forest close by fills one with peace and serenity. We en;joyed the Olympic National Park, and the amazing variety of beautiful and interesting sights. It was fun exploring Mt. Walker, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Rocky Brook Falls and Victoria B.C. There are so many nice hiking trails, even the one nearby that we enjoyed. We had fun bowling twice a week at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles. There are lots of neat places within a couple of hours drive. The weather was awesome!! It's so refreshing and pleasant to spend time outside when its not so hot and humid as what we're used to in Tennessee.

What a wonderful place! We felt just like we were right in the middle of a rain forest. We especially loved the path leading out the back - what a perfect place for a walk. We were so comfortable, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and never slept better. The home is very clean and the pictures and listing were especially accurate. We were situated perfectly for day trips (we stayed four nights) to Seattle, the islands, Port Townsend and Cape Flattery (a must see). We would definitely love to come back.
