Nestled in the woods in beautiful Crystal Lakes, Wonderland is truly a mountain escape. This gorgeous 2005-built cabin is located about an hour north of Fort Collins in a beautiful aspen and pine forest in the mountains. It is a perfect for large gatherings and for romantic getaways alike. Wonderland is easily accessible year round. Each season provides its own charm. Winter activities, including ice skating, cross country skiing and tubing, are available at a nearby resort. Ice fishing on one of three lakes provides a sweet, succulent dinner for the stalwart.
The spring brings wildflowers, budding trees and hummingbirds, followed by the cool summer breezes and shimmering aspens. Brilliantly changing leaves and crisp mountain air provide the perfect autumn setting for strolls through the woods on paths next to flowing streams. Regardless of the time of year you visit, Wonderland’s inviting mountain setting and wonderful views will be sure to please.
There’s plenty to do inside this home, too. Satellite TV, DVD and video players, a library of classic and new-release movies, a pub table for playing cards or other games, a virtual library of books, games and puzzles, and ample seating areas for conversation. The spacious windows help to bring the outside in, and the plush window seat allows you to take it all in.
Three floors of living space provide room for everyone. The loft has hardwood floors and is open to the main floor. It features two twin beds, a full bed, and a play area that includes a TV/VCR and plenty of games. It's a great place for the kids to escape. The main floor features hardwood floors and is home to the open kitchen, large dining area, sitting room with rock fireplace, master bedroom (queen bed) with full bath, and a laundry and mud room.
Finally, the walkout lower floor has two bedrooms and a full bath, and the huge family/recreation area with leather furniture, big-screen television with satellite/DVD/VCR (with expansive movie collection), and a wonderful window seat that overlooks the aspens. There's also plenty of room for utilizing the library of games and books.
The mountain-based decor and the cabinetry in the house give it a warm, cozy feeling throughout. 24-foot cathedral ceilings on the main floor with exposed wooden beams add to the flavor. Enjoy your day outdoors, relax with your favorite beverage on the deck and prepare your meals on the grill for a delicious evening.
Before retiring, enjoy the myriad of stars and constellations in the mountain sky. When you climb into bed, the whispering of the breeze in the pine trees and the crackling of the fire in the floor-to-ceiling rock fireplace will lull you to sleep.
Wonderland is located 60 minutes north of Fort Collins in Crystal Lakes, at nearly 9,000 feet elevation. Crystal Lakes is a private community on thousands of acres of aspens and evergreens, picturesque meadows, wildflowers, streams, and stunning mountain vistas. Come to play or come to relax – both are easy to do here.
Wildlife abounds: moose, deer, coyotes, foxes, and other mountain creatures frequent the property. This is truly a special place, perfect for your entire family or just for a couple seeking a beautiful romantic weekend getaway.
The town of Red Feather Lakes is just 9.5 miles from Wonderland and it's surrounded by rock outcroppings and picturesque lakes. It's a fun little mountain town with a small library, post office, general stores, ice cream parlor, and art gallery. Also close by is Fox Acres Country Club, ranked among the top ten semi-private courses in the country, and numerous other outdoor activities.
