This was by far the best family trip we've taken. I think the comforts of home and the many levels of the house gave us all plenty of personal space. The home comfortably fit our family of 7 and my in laws. We were able to entertain relatives from Wisconsin that came for a day as well. The house could use some labeling on the 2nd floor wall switches to understand which switches operate which lights. The home could also use some new pots and pans as the current ones are teflon coated and flaking off. (Costco has a nice all-clad generic affordably priced) The towels and linens all appeared in great shape. Washer & dryer worked well. We did have a situation where the internet was not working during our duration. After 5 days the cable company diagnosed the problem to be a wireless router problem. We also has a bit of situation getting our refundable deposit returned. It took a month, but I am happy to say that is now resolved.

Chicago Vacation

We stayed at this location from July 3 to July 8. We had a wonderful time in Chicago and the accommodations were very good. We have stayed at a variety of vacation rentals and this property was very nice. The location is very good and the walk along the river very neat. It is an easy walk to many downtown spots as well as close enough to Old Town area as well. All of the museums are just a short drive away.

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

A Wonderful Family Vacation!!

We spent 4 days at this vacation home in June 2011. The accommodations were great, clean modern, spacious and included all of the amenities for a home away from home. The location was convenient for walking to local shopping areas and a short taxi ride to Michigan Avenue and major attractions.The condo had a beautiful skyline view from the top terrace as well as the second floor patio. We were able to accomodate 9 family members as well as visiting guest with ease. The owner ensured that all request and needs were met for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again!!!!

We had a great experience with this property and with the property owner. The unit was very clean, has four bedrooms and can sleep 8+ people comfortably. It is very conveniently located with a very nice new grocery store nearby. Great views of the city from the rooftop deck plus a much larger deck off the kitchen. The owner followed up with us to make sure everything was going well....but we had no issues. He promptly returned our security deposit....we had no issues....the owner treated us very fairly. I would lease this unit again.

Great place, poor renter

The condo was terrific - it was clean and great size for our family. There were a few things, like lightbulbs out, but nothing terrible. We stayed there over Labor Day Weekend last year and to this day we have not received full reimbursement of the security deposit we paid. I did finally receive half of it after numerous emails and phone calls, but still have yet to see the rest of the money and now no longer get a response from the owner. We do not recommend renting from this owner unless you do not give him any more money than you are willing to part with!!

Owner response:I don't understand why this guest waited seven months to post a review.There were damages to the condo which as per the contract the guest are responsible for all damages, and cost to repair. I only do this when it is completely necessary.

The condo building is nice. Lights were out. Fireplace and other things didn't work. Laundry was in the washing machine. It was freezing upstairs and no way to regulate it. Housekeeping came in before 10 AM on the day we were leaving. The owner was not helpful in answering questions or concerns. He completely broke our contract and was not helpful in locating another property. We lost money on this arrangement. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Owner response:As per the most important issue in this matter,which is the statement that I as the owner did not honor the contract. As per the contract I should receive the contract along with a deposit. I received a contract in form of an email but no deposit. We spoke on the phone the week before and as of that date I had not received the deposit. The guest did not follow the contract deposit requirements which make it null in void (which he had for over a month). I then heard from the guest a week prior inquiring about his reservation. I explained to them that the condo was now not available for the last evening. As a courtesy to this guest I re-reimbursed them for the evening plus additional funds for an additional room for a family of five. The guest still was not satisfied hence the bad review, they were disgruntled because they wanted me to pay for a total of three hotel rooms for a family of five. I believed that what I provided to them was more then fair. I provided them with a list of hotels and made several calls inquiring vacancies, and rates. As per the other items listed in this review, many are untrue. Per housekeeping they were still there at check out time which is 11:00. The other issues are just false statements.
