This charming log cabin is located in Valle Crucis (just a short distance from the Mast General Store in Valle Crucis) overlooking the Watauga River and a serene pasture with mountains beyond. It is the perfect get-away for all seasons! Blowing Rock, Boone, hiking trails, Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, shopping and ski resorts are only a short drive away.
This spacious three bedroom/three bath cabin offers three levels with a game room on the lower level for children to enjoy watching television, playing foosball, darts or video games (Sony Playstation). Also on the lower level is a bedroom with a Queen size bed, a “bunk nook” with a set of bunk beds, a full bath and laundry area with a washing machine and dryer.
The main level offers the living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, one bedroom with a king bed and full bath. The master bedroom has a king bed, full bath and is located on the upper level. There is also a "pack-n-play" and queen air mattress available in the upstairs closet.
The large partially-covered double-decks offer a peaceful setting while enjoying the river, the mountains and the pasture. We welcome dogs and the trout fishing in front of the house is fantastic!
Amenities include an outside hot tub, air-conditioning on the main floor and in the loft, wireless high-speed internet, gas log stove, satellite TV, DVD/VCR, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor gas grill, washing machine/dryer, stereo (with CD player and IPod connection) and much more.

Why the Owner Chose Valle Crucis
It's beautiful and peaceful. I went to ASU and still love the area after 20 years. My dream was to have a vacation property in the mountains and this cabin is perfect. It's close enough to Boone, Blowing Rock (shopping!) and Banner Elk for convenience, yet far enough away to feel "off the beaten path". I also love the river and winding road in front of the cabin. We meander down the road in all kinds of weather and play in the river during the summer. We usually see deer, geese, ducks, horses and of course COWS on every excursion.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
As soon as the road turns gravel (about 1 mile from the cabin), all of my stress melts away. You cross a small bridge and we call it the "Ahhh Bridge" because as soon as we get there, I just feel "ahhhh". The cabin is cozy and the mountain/pasture view is really peaceful. I feel like I get my best rest when we are there and we definitely enjoy our best family quality time. It's the only place where the TV is rarely on, where we play lots of games and work on puzzles.
The covered porch is probably my favorite spot. I sit in the rocker and read and relax. The view is great and you can sit out there on a rainy day and listen to the rain bouncing on the tin roof. Ahhhh....

We are a 39 yr old couple with 2 kids, 6 and 8 yrs old. I graduated from ASU in 1992 and have always loved the mountains. We live in Charlotte and get up to Valle Crucis as often as possible!

This was the best decision we could've made about our vacation. Staying in such a wonderfully stocked, well informative home with a view of nothing short of heaven. You can sit in the hot tub at night and hear the river running, or sit in the rocking chairs or swings on either full deck and watch the stars. I WILL be going back to this home for another "mental break". I highly recommend this home to anyone and everyone looking for a peaceful vacation that is a short drive away to anything else you could want or desire.

My husband and I can't wait to get back to "Go Fish". It is the perfect get-away in Valle Crucis. The cabin had more than enough space for our family of 6. The location is perfect, just a mile or so from the center of Valle Crucis and just a short drive to Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, etc. Looking down from the deck to the Watauga River, with a pasture and mountains beyond is the perfect setting. The cabin is fully-equiped with everything we needed. The hot tub was a big hit with the kids. We had tons of fun fishing the river, hiking and exploring. So much to do and see in the immediate vicinity. Thanks again for a wonderful stay and some fabulous memories.

My wife and I stayed in November 2009 with 2 other couples. The cabin is large enough to accomodate many people, but still felt very cozy. The location of the cabin is great (close enough to all the activities, but is tucked away very nicely) and we will be back!!

We rented this cabin for my husband's birthday weekend during the month of January. The cabin was in excellent condition, was very comfortable, clean, and had plenty of room for all. There's a creek across the road, which was slightly frozen over. The guys were still able to do a bit of fishing and us girls traveled to nearby Blowing Rock for some outlet shopping. It was really evident that the owners of this cabin put alot of work into making it feel very "homey". I even received a followup email asking for constructive criticism and how our stay went from the owners. Additionally, the owners were very helpful in attending to any of our concerns and answering any of our questions. There were 3 couples and a baby that slept comfortably during our stay. The living room/kitchen area is pretty spacious and open as well. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a mountain retreat in the Valle Crucis area!
