Very comfortable and convenient to many scenic outdoor activities. Five minute walk to the lake. Full size washer and dryer. Gas Furnace and Wood Stove. Very large Back Deck with plenty of seating. Bedrooms are located upstairs - 1 King and 1 Queen bed. Bathroom is located downstairs.
This property is 2 miles south of Homewood Ski Resort, and only 8 miles to Tahoe City. Near lots of great Hiking Trails, Beaches and Sugar Pine Point State Park. Just 2 miles from beautiful Meeks Bay, and close to Rubicon as well. Emerald Bay is about a 20 minute drive (9.5 miles).
Very quiet neighborhood. Come get away from the rat race and enjoy all the beauty and serenity that Tahoe has to offer! This is a great value for a nice get-away. The West Shore is the Best Shore!

This cabin is cozy and comfortable. It was everything we expected from the description, and the owner was helpful and quick to reply to my questions. We loved staying here and have recommended it to several friends. A sort walk to Sugar Pine Point park for snowshoeing and hiking, a 5 minute drive to skiing at Homewood, and 10 - 15 minutes to Tahoe City. The Fire Sign restaurant is great for breakfast, and the River Grill was excellent for dinner.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was our first stay in this Cabin as well as in town of Tahoma, and it couldn't have been more pleasant! The owner was prompt and made the entire process seamless. Everything in the cabin was as described though the furniture was arranged differently and the current tv is an upgrade to the one pictured. The neighborhood is perfect for those wanting a quiet retreat after a long day of snowboarding/skiing. I found a nice network of running/walking trails a couple of blocks away and our dog, Bosco, loved exploring the open back yard. The neighbors we very pleasant and their dog, Lucie, did a great job of showing Bosco the finer points of playing in the snow. It seemed like every other house had a dog or 2, so I cannot stress enough how dog friendly our stay was. The cabin had plenty of charm for us to explore during out 2 night stay. It definitely has some quirks such as loose door handles and a slightly shaky handrail leading up the stairs, but to an extend they seem to add to the quality of the stay. Also, the wood stove seemed to taunt us in our inability to maintain a healthy flame, but I don't think the stove is to blame.. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cabin anyone looking for a quiet stay. My family and I hope to be able to enjoy this cabin it in the future.Did you find this review helpful? This cabin felt like my own house--very comfortable furniture and space with all the necessary amenities. It takes a while to feel at home in some rentals, but not this one. I especially liked the large mudroom with plenty of storage for skiing equipment, which was also well heated for drying out clothes after playing in the snow, and was equipped with a full size washer and dryer. Although this cabin may look small from the outside, there is plenty of space inside. Great TV, great couch and chairs, great dining room table, well-stocked kitchen, spacious bedroom with king bed, huge heated bathroom. Also, although the owner allows pets in this rental (and I brought my own 2 dogs), there was no evidence such as excessive pet hair or dog smells from previous dog owners--it was well cleaned. No fenced yard for dogs, but open space behind the house. Janette the owner was very quick to respond to questions about the house and very easy to talk to. The only issue I had was the power went out briefly due to a snow storm which knocked the wireless internet off. I had to unplug and replug the modems which are hidden in the kitchen bench. Very quiet neighborhood location also, other surrounding houses appear to be often vacant second homes. Very cozy warm comfortable rental!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I had the loveliest time staying at this cabin. The living room had the most comfortable recliner chairs and couch for lounging in the afternoons after a day spent at Meeks Bay, which was literally a 5 minute drive away, and enjoying our breakfasts and dinners at the wonderful dining nook and benches. The flat screen tv had my nephew never complaining of boredom because he could connect his Xbox and get his video game fix when he tired of the beach (strange teenagers). The only minor drawback was the upstairs bedrooms get incredibly hot in the nighttime and the fan was just not enough. Of course, this is more a byproduct of our foggy SF upbringing and not a real reflection of anything negative on the cabin. The stairs can be a little treacherous to traverse in the night when half asleep but we made it just fine and had the most relaxing and restorative family bonding vacation in this lovely cabin. Thank you Janette for being so responsive and offering this wonderful cabin for rental. We had a wonderful time!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

First time renting this cabin was great for me and my partner and our two mellow dogs. We stayed for 5 nights, and were joined by another couple of friends for two of those nights. With only 1 downstairs bathroom, and a third (sofa) bed (in the living room) for a possible two more, it would have been too tight for anymore than 4 people, unless you're planning to be out all day and night, and just looking for a place to sleep and shower. Plan your meal activities to eat out or bring food in with disposable plates, etc.; otherwise cooking facilities are adequate, and you will need to wash dishes by hand - no automatic dishwasher. Nice to have clothes washing/drying facilities, if needed. West shore location in a nice quiet neighborhood is perfect for access to the full variety of Lake Tahoe amenities/activities, at a great value. Landlord/Owner was very delightful, responsive and easy to deal with. We would be very happy to return again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful week at this cozy, tidy, and very comfortable cabin. The late October weather cooperated and it was one of the most restful and enjoyable vacations we've ever had. If we owned a cabin, it would be outfitted much like this one. It doesn't at all feel like a rental. The furnishings, bedding and linen, kitchenware and appliances are all better than you'd expect. Except for a couple of minor annoyances (couldn't find the DVD remote or a dust pan), everything was perfect. I've never met or spoke to the owner but I'll be she's a very nice person who takes personal pride in everything she does. The photos need to be updated to show an additional mission recliner (boy do we love them) and a new flat screen that gets local channels in full HD. It's such a great find, you're compelled to treat it with the respect it deserves and like it's your own. We sincerely hope to come back someday.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, sightseeing.

About the owner: Hello, and thank you for visiting my rental page! I have enjoyed my vacation home since 2001 and have put a lot of TLC into it. It has given me much joy and many fond memories. I try very hard to make it comfortable and relaxing for my guests and provide the items guests most care about. If you have any suggestions for improvement I like to hear them. I enjoy many of the activities that Tahoe has to offer year round, and whether you just want to get away and relax, or take in all that Tahoe has to offer, you will find my cabin and location will provide what you are looking for.
Why the Owner Chose Tahoma:
Before purchasing my cabin, I rented several properties for weekend getaways in the Tahoma area. The area offers a great value, and provides so much more than renting a hotel room. It is also conveniently located, and just a 5 to 10 minute walk to the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and relaxed. I fell in love with my cabin instantly, and went to work on renovating it throughout. The cabin is very cute and charming, and has a very nice layout.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin is close to many great hiking trails, a 5 minute walk to the beach, and near several very pretty beaches on the west shore. It is also right next to Sugar Pine State Park. Many ski resorts are within 20 minutes driving, and just 2 miles from Homewood Ski resort. There are several nice restaurants on the west shore, and just 8 miles to Tahoe City. The cabin has a front porch and a large back deck with lots of seating. There is also a bar-b-que on site for guest use. The kitchen is well supplied, and linens and towels are provided. There is a wood stove and a gas furnace which heats up the place quickly. Internet service and cable tv are also provided. No land line phone is provided.
