FISHING: Lake fishing includes trophy small- and large-mouth bass, pickerel, perch, and sunnies. Or for excellent fly fishing (rainbow and wild brown trout), drive 10 minutes to the East Branch of the Delaware River or 15 minutes to the West Branch.
WALKING/BIKING: Unpaved country roads outside cabin door.
FALL FOLIAGE: Beautiful fall colors start in early September.
BIRD WATCHING: Finches, cardinals, hummingbirds, blue heron, and other birds.
GOLF: Good courses within 15-25 minute drive; Lake Lorraine Golf Course, French Woods Golf and Country Club, Hancock Golf Club .
SWIMMING: Swimming and snorkeling in summer months.

Why the Owner Chose Shehawken Lake
Our family has been going to this lake for over 20 years, and has another cabin on the lake. We just had this (2nd) cabin built in 2008 because the extended family was getting too big for just one cabin when everyone comes to visit...but we're not at the cabin many other weeks of the year.

My family and I stayed at this beautiful cabin twice in Oct/2011. We had the best time. The fishing was great and the owners were great to work with. I will forever treasure the great moments we had together as a family. Marie is the owner and she is truely a wonderful person. We will be back to enjoy this beautiful place. Thank You for everything Marie.

Hello My family and I are from Toronto, Canada and prior to visiting relatives in NY, we stayed at this lovely cabin for 5 beautiful days. My wife, twin boys Dante and Julian (1&half year olds) and I had the time of our lives. The boys got to enjoy the water for the first time, sitting in the canoes and splashing away. There is a 2nd enclosed outside shower that allowed us to bathe the children outdoors so clean up was easy before bedtime. The cabin is new and very clean. The owners Chris and Maria met with us and introduced us to all the necessities we needed to know about recycling, the garbage, lake equipment etc.. Very fun and down to earth couple. My wife and I fished for the first time, and we had a blast, she caught 4-5 small bass, and a pickeral, and I caught a few pickeral myself. We are hoping to return to this cabin every 2 years so that Dante and Julian can grow up with the lasting memories of their bi annual cabin vacations I think one of the best features of this place was the bonfire pit with the large open space balcony which provided us with loads of fun sitting out watching the sun set with drinks in hand and listening to some good music while the children danced around to the music.
