We found this Northern Lights property to be a very nice and comfortable home to spend our Whistler Ski vacation. Kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils and certainly had plenty of dishes! The home is a quick drive to the village & lift access points. We did not use the ski in/out as it was a bit of a walk and up stairs to get to slope access, though we did see a number of skiers using the slope access on the property.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This is our 5th trip to beautiful Whistler. We normally stay in the village, but thought we might try a condo with ski in/ski out access. There are many to choose from, but we really fell in love with this unit after seeing the pictures and reading about it. We felt duped! The pictures and details misrepresented this condo. It is much smaller than in the pictures. Mediocre accommodations...not worth the "luxury" price. The beds were older. The master bed did not have a box spring, just a flimsy mattress sitting on a low quality bed frame. I would equate it to dorm room furniture. The place was dirty and dusty, and the fireplace had not been cleaned in a long time. The house smelled sooty. You couldn't close the flue, which made the unit cold and drafty. The unit does have a nice, private hot tub, but we found empty cigarette packs and beer caps lying all around it. We had to walk 10 houses downhill to the "ski trail access", then up 100 steps ( which you don't hear about until you are at the check-in desk), icy terrain and a vertical hike (also icy) up to the ski trail. We checked out after one night. Not worth it, unless you enjoy that sort of challenge. Might be good for a group of young couples looking to split cost. Or folks who live nearby, coming here frequently for skiing. Not for those looking for a luxury vacation. We only get these special ski vacations once or twice a year. Bring a car, or you'll need a taxi to get back from the village...even the cab drivers/locals laughed at the idea of walking from the village, up the windy road and mountainside to the condo, carrying groceries and such. For true ski in/ski out, look elsewhere!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Guest, I am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay at our home as we pride ourselves on providing good customer satisfaction. We offer 24/7 front desk support and as you booked out after 18 hours of arrival we are sorry you did not take advantage of this; we would have been delighted to correct everything for you. A good night sleep is very important and with your comments we have changed the master bedroom mattress to a brand new top quality one. The first paragraph on our VRBO/HomeAway listing states that there are steps and a short hike for the ski in/out so guests are made aware before making a booking.

My group and I had a wonderful stay. It was very spacious, comfortable and had the most beautiful views. The kitchen came stalked with everything we needed to cook and clean and we loved how the garage had a snow room for our boots and boards. It was walking distance to the village, although quite the hike, but we didn't mind at all. The ladies at reception were very helpful as well, with any questions we had. Can't wait to stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Northern Lights home was great for the family. Kids had a blast in the hot tub and things worked very smoothly. Location was very convenient, especially for ski school. You had a choice of hiking up to the piste, or driving the kids down and dropping them of at Whistler gondola. Either way, access to the trails was quick. Home is tastefully decorated and comfortable.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

House was spacious, and comfortable. Beds, kitchen and bathrooms very clean. Only complaint about the cleaning was dust on certain areas. Needed some rugs cleaned. Maybe because it was the off season and needed a good yearly dusting and carpets cleaned. Hot tubs was well taken care of. Very close to village. Owner Comment: thank you for your comments. Since your stay we have replaced the carpets with new ones as the old ones were creating dust. The house has been completely cleaned since your visit.Did you find this review helpful? This house worked great to house a big family group under one roof. Full kitchen, deck with BBQ, garage, boot room and hot tub were great to have and the big dining table made it possible to all eat together without having to go out. Easy access to skiing.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

"Spacious, Comfortable, and Quiet" My guests and I had a great weekend at Northern Lights! There were eight of us in the house, but it never felt crowded or noisy. The vaulted ceilings were spectacular, and made the house feel even larger than it is. Everything was in order when we checked in - everything was clean and all amenities available. We couldn't have asked for anything more!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
