River Romance is a 2 bedroom cabin (sleeps 6) that is located on the little pigeon river in downtown Pigeon Forge, TN. With this cabin being walking distance to town, it is a great and coveted location in Gatlinburg to stay. It was upgraded in the summer of 2008 with all new furniture, granite counter tops, a new flat screen TV, movie library, basically full makeover. This cabin is one of many along the river that was originally built in the 1940's and has a lot of character and charm with all the modern comforts and amenities that you need.
If you are looking to get-a-way for 2 or for a place your family to stay. It is very convenient to town being close to all the attractions in Gatlinburg (some with in walking distance) and just 5 miles from Pigeon Forge. The river is great to sit by and for kids to play in!

Can't recommend this place. Dirty, Management Company Nightmare, etc...
My wife, two kids and I just checked out of this place today. We are leaving two days early from what became a nightmare of a vacation. Problem #1: To start off we showed up to the property when the cleaning person was leaving the property prior to our stay. The first thing that we examined was if the hot tub had been cleaned and sanitized. Danny the cleaning person quickly told me that it had not, so I asked him to please do so. You could tell that the chemicals were very strong, and we couldn't allow my 3 year old to get in a hot tub so heavy in chemical. Danny went ahead and emptied the hot tub and started refilling it. Therefore, we didn't have use of the hot tub our first night in the place, because the water was not warm enough. Problem #2: The Wifi that we were told was in the cabin did not work. We called right away on Sunday, and was told someone would be out to look at it on Monday. The repair person came out the next day as promised, and confirmed that we were not crazy. The modem was not working. We were told by the repair person that he would call the cable company, and order another modem. He would also call us when he got in touch with the cable company. Two days went by and the repair guy still hasn't called. We chose the cabin because of the good cell phone reception in Gatlinburg, and the Internet that this cabin was to offer. The lady working that Sunday evening at Cabins For You could care less of the reason we needed Internet. She didn't are that I needed it because I had two real estate transactions falling by the waste side, and we had contracts that needed to be taken care of. This was a horrible experience. Problem#3 - Sanitation Issues... Because the hot tub was a little deep and rough for my three year old, we told him that he could have a bath in the jetted tub that evening. We filled up the tub, and when we turned on the hot tub black junk shot all over our three year old. We are not sure if this was mildew, mold, hair particles from shaving or what kind of smudge quickly filled the tub. Wednesday morning we left the cabin to head back to Myrtle Beach early, and attempted to call Cabins For You several times to let them know that we were leaving. We reached an operator around 8:30am, and Marcia took our names and number and told us that a manager would be in touch with us when she got in at 11:00am. Around 1:00pm we called again and the manager Nicole picked up the phone. We told her our situation, our experience and t

Owner response: Our check in time is at 4pm. Customer Woodard arrived at his cabin at noon and the housekeepers had just arrived to clean the cabin. The housekeeper and her husband phoned us to tell us the guests could leave their luggage in one corner but they needed to have access to the cabin to clean. We tried calling the customers multiple times without an answer. The housekeeper had to clean around the guests while they were in the cabin. They usually do sections at a time but the guests were moving around and calling them over to different spots. The prior guests were a little rough on the house so it is possible that areas were missed that needed attention. However, since Customer Woodard and his family checked in early and stayed in the cabin while it was being cleaned, housekeepers were rushed and interrupted during their cleaning. Unfortunately we can not guarantee certain amenities/appliances to work 100% of the time but we do work to get any issues resolved quickly and as soon as possible. The prior guests did not phone in any issues with the internet so we were unaware that there was a problem prior to Customer Woodard's arrival. The internet was fixed prior to the next reservation check in. We would have been glad to move Customer Woodard to a different cabin had he called us to let us know that he wanted to leave the cabin. We do not want our guests to feel like they have to stay in a cabin they are not comfortable with. However, we were notified of his departure too late to accommodate him elsewhere. Our guests agreement does state that no refunds can be given unless the dates rebooked. Unfortunately we were not able to get the dates rebooked for Customer Woodard.

This is one of my absolute favorite cabins! It has an incredible view from the master bedroom, overlooking the river. The cabin's space is well utilized with plenty of room for a family. It is extremely peaceful with a back deck right by the river. The decor matches the cabin perfectly and everything was spotless. It is also within walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg which saves you from wasting the time driving downtown and looking for a parking space. Would recommend this cabin to anyone and would love to go back.
