  We recently returned from almost two weeks at this condo and were so satisfied that we have already booked for 2014. The booking process and correspondence with the owner and property agent went smoothly, and all features were as advertised. Without knowing Maui very well we were taking a chance on location but this spot is perfect for almost anything. The beach - and an excellent one at that - is less than a minute out the back gate. Our son turned three while we were there and the calm surf along much of the beach plus the pool at the condo helped him make great progress in his swimming and comfort with water. Being able to spot countless whales from the lanai and living room windows was a special thrill for all of us landlocked Albertans. We were appreciative of the convenience of nearby grocery stores, restaurants and kid's play park. The condo itself is well-appointed and very comfortable; it also has all of the gadgets and utensils we needed. We took advantage of scuba diving at Molikini Crater and full-island helicopter tour - both of which I'd highly recommend. Our routine usually involved a trip to the beach, then a rinse off at the shower tree by the back gate (the sand is so fine you'll need to work at it), a dip in the pool and then some time in the hot tub. The days tend to fly by, which we hope is true for the interim months until we return. Many thanks to the owners for making this home available to renters - based on a scan of hundreds of other properties and locations, a home of this calibre at this price is very rare.

  We stayed at hale Ili Ili A for 10 nights over spring break and had a wonderful time! There were 6 of us, including a 2 year old and a 7 month old and had everything we needed! The kitchen is very well equipped as is the rest of the condo. They had everything from extra lighbulbs to kids' books to games to movies.....there was so much here! I can't say enough about the location. It was a tiny walk to the beach with a beautiful green space right outside the door. The kids loved the pool and the adults loved sitting on the lanai! We could easily walk into Kihei for groceries or coffee and there was a great children's playground nearby as well. We would gladly return to Kihei and stay here again, and will be recommending this place to our friends as well! Thank you!

  We have just returned from 3 weeks in Hale Ili Ili with 3 generations - my parents, ourselves and my kids (7, 10). It was awesome. The photos do it justice. The 3 bedrooms were great with ceiling fans, or if you really wanted air conditioning. The living area was a comfy place to relax in the after lunch heat and the kitchen was really well appointed (spices and such were a great bonus). We loved the lanai dining area and we all alternated between the beach (less than a minute walk), pool and hot tub. We really appreciated being able to walk to Foodland and all the shops and restaurants in Kihei - especially Alexanders for fish tacos. The agent was very friendly and helpful. The luck of a new friend for my son was just an added bonus! Mahalo for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!

  Our family of six visited Hale Ili Ili in June, 2010 and had a wonderful time. We snorkeled in the morning with the fish and turtles on the reef in our own back yard, relaxed by the pool in the afternoon, watched the sunsets from the hot tub in the evening and enjoyed movies on the big flat screen TV at night. The house, furnishings and amenities were all first class; tremendous hospitality. The location was ideal. Grocery stores, swim shops, clothing stores and restaurants are all minutes away, yet the off-street location gave us complete quiet and privacy. The adjacent beach was perfect for swimming and sunnning and never too crowded. Kihei is also a centrally located so trips to Haleakala, Hanna, and Kanapali were grand adventures, not headaches. Be sure to stop at Eskimo Candy for the Opakapaka fish and chips; awesome!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  We stayed in the condo for a week and could not have been happier. We enjoyed how close everything was and the beach was literally a stones throw from the condo. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking for comfort and proximity to the beach and away from the crazy end of Maui. A great couples retreat as well. 5 stars and well worth the money. Much better than a Hotel by a long shot. Drinking coffee and whale watching doesn't get much better than that from your lanai.

  My friends and I stayed at this lovely property in 2009. We were impressed by the property. The interior and grounds were immaculate. The management was helpful and welcoming. It is in a modest neighborhood; but the classy decor and million dollar views make you feel pampered. This place offers so much more than the high end resorts. Privacy being the foremost amenity! Quiet solitude every morning to drink my coffee. The pool to ourselves on most afternoons. The beach is a few steps down the path; just one minute away. We are planning our 2010 Maui trip; we want to stay at Hale IliIli again!

  This is a beautiful property and great location! If you are traveling with kids they have a perfect lower level bedroom (hideaway). We had two couples and 2 boys 11 and 14 and had plenty of room. We chose Kehei because I have a brother that moved here recently. The house is decorated beautifully with high end amenities. The walk out grassy area and wall are perfect for sunsets. This house has the perfect view. We enjoyed Kehei as it was a more local setting with cool cafe's and markets. Not over resort style. The drive up is on the modest side so wait till you walk in and see they put all the amazing features on the inside and back (ocean side) where you want it the most. Hope to go back soon and would stay in this house again. Deanna (Texas)
