A departure from the usual villa rental holidays, Butler's is a private historic retreat with a Great House and Cottage (Cottage available as of June 1 2011) on 6 acres of a former plantation situated atop the village which shares its name. Butler's House and Cottage comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests and is only rented to one party at a time so guests have exclusive use of the pool & gardens regardless of how many bedrooms are rented.
Nestled in the foothills of Butlers Mountain, the property commands sweeping sea views with an intoxicating landscape of colour and fragrance. Spend your days lounging by the 35 foot pool while gazing out to the sea or take a stroll through the ruins and extensive gardens. You may discover an artefact and even run into a family of green monkeys.
Butler’s House is and feels like a home and comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 2 children under 16. Tastefully decorated with an eclectic selection of antique and sympathetic modern furniture, you'll quickly ease into the comfortable surroundings of the House. Butler's House has two Queen-sized bedrooms with generous bathrooms. The third bedroom features a comfortable daybed with trundle and its own video viewing.
Butler's Cottage, a Nevisian-style home, bridges the gap between the 17th century property and modern day by reflecting the elegant simplicity and homeliness of the historic Butler's House. Sitting contendedly on the Upper Terrace, the Cottage is close enough to the House for ease, yet far enough away for privacy. It is rented out in conjunction with the House and accomodates
2 adults and 2 children under 16.
The Cottage, measuring 23 ft x 23 ft with an 8 ft verandah, is open plan with a simple kitchen, a bathroom, bedroom and living area. There is a Queen-sized bed (in the bedroom) and a daybed with trundle in the living area.
Housekeeping, pool cleaning and a gardener are included. A cook can be arranged with advance notice. Wireless, cable TV installed.
Guests have exclusive use of the house, pool & gardens regardless of how many bedrooms are rented.
Upon arrival to Nevis, a taxi will bring you to Butler’s House where our local agent will greet you and answer any questions. Our agent will book the taxi and can also arrange your rental car. Your first dinner can be arranged and food supplies provided.

In 2005, we bought, restored and rennovated an old plantation home (circa 1700's) on the charming island of Nevis. We never really knew what we had until the restoration process began. During that time, Tim & I realised that--like owners before us-- we are caretakers, ensuring Butler's will be around for many generations to come.

We loved Butlers...the house, the pool, the grounds, the patio,the staff, the little bar down the hill. (great people,please say hello to them from us) Diane and Tim were great...if something went down, they took care of it right away. It was a sad morning for us when we had to say goodbye to our "home" that we had for two wonderful weeks. Thank you for sharing your home with us..... Rhonda and Jim Canada

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family. The Butler's House is unique, special and off the beaten path! Our favorite room in the House=Front Porch. Dinners by candlelight with views of the ocean. You have a great collection of CD's. The Dining Room was our dance floor. The kitchen: wow! Every detail of your home is charming. Married for 22 years=most romantic place we've ever stayed!!! Past vacations to St Barts, Anguilla, St Maarten, St Martin, Out Islands, Bahamas, Bermuda, Great Barrier Reef Australia. Nevis=Most Friendly Island. The Butler's House...A Little Slice of Heaven!!!

We came to the island with a long list of things to see and do and we'll have to get to them all next week! We enjoyed the house so much we rarely wanted to leave. Relaxing mornings on the verandah, afternoon naps and swimming in the pool and a daily meal watching the monkeys in the trees! The property was incredibly beautiful and well maintained... A true week on vacation--we loved it!

Shortly after becoming engaged last year we began hunting for a perfect honeymoon spot. There's some nice places out there but, really, all these Caribbean vacation homes begin to look the same. We wanted something special...unique. Then one day I stumbled on Butler's House. It wasn't on the beach like we wanted and it lacked AC, but we knew the moment we saw it that it was perfect for us. This place has exceeded our expectations. We leave tomorrow but we leave having had the most amazing honeymoon two people can have...

This was a perfect place to stay. We've been visiting the Caribbean for 24 years and Butler's and Nevis are on top of the list...Really enjoyed the history of the island and Butler's House. The Butler House gardens are amazingly diverse and wonderfully maintained....Only stayed 1 week but could have stayed a lifetime.

It is a wonderful quiet location with beautiful gardens and pool... Stayed in for dinner and later watched the bats dive over the pool at night. The monkey's also appear in the evening looking for oranges. It was all wonderful and we hope to be back again!

This was our own private sanctuary. We barely left the property because we enjoyed the setting so much. The grounds are amazing; well kept and full of wildlife--we saw monkeys daily, hummingbirds, frogs, a mongoose, bats... The house is charming, with great outdoor space for eating and lounging. We did not want to leave at the end of the week!
