The Way Tahoe Used to Be
Five charming chalet style bungalows sit on the mountainside underneath towering sierra pines. Children play in the heated outdoor 40 foot pool. Someone's grilling over on the lawn. And you: you're relaxing in the outdoor hot tub. That's the Tahoe experience generations of families have been returning to at the Pine Cone Resort since the 1950s.
Now you can enjoy that experience along with free high speed wireless internet. Any time, any where: in your room, by the pool, out on the deck-- just bring a laptop with a wireless card and you're good to go!
Many of our units are dog-friendly - so your four-legged friend is welcome too!
The Pine Cone Resort is five bungalows, each with four apartments. Each apartment has a brick or rock wood-burning fireplace, kitchenette, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The bedrooms have both a King or Queen and Twin bed, and the living rooms all have a double sofa bed and twin bed, so you can sleep up to six people in each apartment. The Pine Cone is an oasis of quiet, cool summer breezes in Zephyr Cove on the south east side of Lake Tahoe, less than a mile from the beach, and just 2-3 miles to the casinos and Heavenly Valley Ski Gondola in South Lake Tahoe and Stateline.

Clean, rustic, beautiful grounds and pine trees with huge pine cones Chicago IL Oct 15, 2010 We were with a group of 12 and we rented multiple cabins at the resort. The rooms and grounds were simple, clean and tidy with a heated swimming pool surrounded by tall pine trees with huge pine cones. The resort is close to the city center where there is plenty of shopping, restaurants, casinos. It is also very close to Lake Tahoe, there many beautiful state parks were hiking was available and swimming on the many beaches. The water in the lakes were so clear and blue like nothing I had ever seen before. Just beautiful.

Your resort is awesome, affordable and the fact you are pet friendly means a lot to us - (We have a 6 pound Yorkie and she loved it here also). Our stay was very enjoyable, and will be a wonderful memory for years to come - Our son and his fiancee gave us this stay for our 45th wedding anniversary and then on the "spur of the moment" decided to get married...

When my husband and I travel, we like to get a genuine feel for the locale and tend to stay away from hotel chains that don't reflect the local flavor. The Pine Cone Resort is precisely the kind of place we like to stay. In fact, we stayed here twice in the same season. It has the feel of a little cabin in a mountain community, just far enough away from the manic tourist center of town, yet just a very short walk to the lake! With amenities like a bedroom, a kitchen, a hot tub, a pool, laundry on-site, wi-fi and cable, we felt much more at home than if we have been in a hotel room. It's so homey, in fact, that we met a couple that have opted to live there long term! If you're looking for a boxed, packaged experience, you may want to stay at a big hotel, but if you prefer a more organic travel experience, the Pine Cone is perfect!
