Francesco Sorride In Mare or translated from Italian, Francesco Smiles At Sea, is inspired by my father Francesco's love for adventure, and is a very comfortable one bedroom cottage with big views.
Completed January 2009, this new cottage sleeps two people. There is a kitchen and dining area, a living room area split with the bedroom, an interior bath with a private, outdoor mason and stucco shower. The deck has a rattan loveseat, marble table for two with benches and a gas barbecue for grilling.
Sliding glass doors in the bedroom/living room open to a deck where you can relax, read in the sun, barbeque and dine outdoors while enjoying the views and trade winds which keep the cottage breezy. There are ceiling fans and an extra floor fan also if needed.
Enjoy lovely furnishings and new appliances in a fully-equipped kitchen. You can relax with views of turquoise waters and green hillsides including the East End, Tortolla and Sage Mountain, Norman Island, Peter Island, and the British Virgin Islands. The lights of Tortolla are spectacular at night.
You can sit on the front steps and enjoy the fish pond at the entrance filled with Koi, gold fish, mollies, platties, a fountain and Lilly pads.
There is ample parking and the property is filled with tropical plants, banana, mango, and papaya trees, tanya (elephant ear plants) and flowering hibiscus with plenty of humming birds.
This three room affordable cottage has all the amenities you would need for a great vacation on St. John along with gorgeous views and refreshing trade winds. It is located minutes away from turquoise water beaches, great restaurants, shopping, fishing, boating, and water sports. Don't miss a sail on BREATH, our only St. John man-made, small Tall Ship.
Our National Park encompasses two-thirds of St. John so you can enjoy its many protected, pristine beaches and numerous hiking trails also within minutes of the cottage.

This turned out to be a perfect place for a week away. Would have stayed longer if I had the time. Owner provided excellent details and information for getting there and "checking in" even with my 2230 arrival time on St. John. Cottage is very clean, well kept and maintained, nicely decorated, sturdy, and quite comfortable. Loved the outdoor shower! Kitchen has everything you need for as long as your stay might be. Great to sit on the deck and watch the boats in Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole. Very short drive to several good restaurants, mini marts, bars, beaches, and things to do. Hope I can get back there ASAP!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+.

Of all our visits to St. John, Francesco had the best views--big open blue water with green mountains in the background and big sky. The breeze was excellent. The cottage was well decorated and clean. We really enjoyed bbq with the grand views and the privacy of the cottage, the last on a dead end road with only two homes. We look forward to returning.
