We invite you to enjoy our little piece of paradise on Long Pond, a 50-acre fresh water pond. Nestled at the bottom of a hill, surrounded by pines, on the edge of Long Pond with approximately 280β of private waterfront and a private dock, the Boathouse and the Studio remain as they were in the first half of the 20th century, but with modern updates.
With vaulted ceilings and abundant water views, whether being observed from inside through the cottages' windows and glass sliding doors or from the deck on the edge of the water, you will find Long Pond Cottages a perfect place to gather friends or family or just relax in solitude. The Boathouse was originally built as an ice house in the 20s and expanded to a boathouse by Major Stuart who lived across the street in his summer home. The cottages were sold in the 40s and the Boathouse had 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms and living room added making it a simple cottage. The other cottage, known as the Studio, was built in the 30s for the Major's wife to use as a tranquil place to paint and relax on the pond. The Studio provides additional sleeping quarters.
The cottages retain their vintage charm. All of the rooms of both cottages face onto the pond providing spectacular sunsets. Sliding glass doors on the Boathouse lead from the living room and kitchen/dining area to the deck. The Boathouse, the main cottage, has one bedroom with a queen size bed, a living room with a couch that folds down to a queen size bed, a large kitchen/dining area, a fully stocked kitchen, one and one-half baths, and an open air deck at the edge of the pond. The Studio provides one additional bedroom with a double bed and a small living room with a trundle bed.
The Property includes a small private dock, a beach pass to all Barnstable beaches, 2 kayaks, and permits well-behaved dogs in accordance with our dog policy that is available on our private web site.
Along with your bathing suit, towel and book, bring your walking shoes, canoe and bicycle and leave your worries behind. We invite you to enjoy our little piece of paradise on the edge of Long Pond, located in Centerville, Massachusetts - a place that we hope that you find as special and unique as we do.
Centerville sits on a peninsula on the southern side of Barnstable. With its maritime location on Nantucket Sound, Centerville was once home to wealthy ship captains who built stately homes on Main Street in the early 1800s (just around the corner from the Cottages). Centerville is also home to Craigville, Covell and Long Beaches and the famous Four Seas Ice Cream, all within a one-mile walk from our pond-front cottages.
The cottages are unique, designed simply for your comfort β to relax, nap, read, swim, paddle a canoe or kayak, take a walk or bike ride, have an ice cream, explore the beaches and discover why the Cape is such a special place.

Why the Owner Chose Centerville
We love the Cottages for their simple, functional forms, use of wood, blending into the surrounding natural landscape and location right on Long Pond. We also love that the Long Pond Cottages are located around the corner from the historic Village of Centerville and Four Seas Ice Cream which has fabulous lobster rolls!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Tranquility, relaxation, swimming and boating right out the back door and alfresco living. There are no motor boats permitted on Long Pond, making this a quiet place to relax.
Owner's Map of Centerville
We are four siblings and a husband/brother-in-law who purchased this property last fall 2008. Cape Cod has always been in our hearts, having summered here as children and vacationed here as adults. We wanted a place to reconnect as family in a place we love. We hope that you find Long Pond Cottages as special and unique as we do.
We are standing on the deck of the Boathouse toasting our new cottages on Long Pond.

We had a wonderful time at the Long Pond Cottage, thank you Judy. It was as described and much more. W e could not believe that as a group we wished to spend more time by the lake than at the beach but having both options available was just wonderful. The children and adults alike enjoyed our stay whether enjoying nature, fishing, kayaking on the lake or just relaxing reading both morning and evenings. It was also great to have Hyannis and the Vineyard for trips and stores up the street to supply whatever we needed. I highly recommend this beautiful location, Long Pond Cottage, to families or couples whether seeking a fun vacation stay, to enjoy the peace of nature, the beauty of the pond or just for plain good old relaxation time. Terry

If you want a self contained quaint and cozy place to relax , rejuvenate, connect with family or friends, this is the place. As soon as we saw the place, we knew we would come back again. Judi is a great host and very helpful and the pictures do not do Long Pond cottages justice. They are alot roomier than you would think and everything you could need is there. The pond is clean and warm. We swam and kayaked every day.The deck is a great place to relax/have a cold one/grill/chill/read. One week was not long enough, we have booked for next year and again for a long weekend. The location is perfect- close enough to Hyannis/Melody Tent /Craigville Beach and a host of other things to do, if you so choose. Grocery store a mile away/package store 2 min. away. even though we were very close to anything we wanted, we felt secluded and had our privacy, especially at night. Kayaks included and everyone enjoyed the pond and the grounds. Our dog enjoyed the pond and kayaking as much as we did. Beach passes are included, but we never needed to go! Many great places to eat/shop nearby and Judi is more than happy to help you w/ recommendations. The fruit and vegetable market nearby has a great deli and bakery too. It is the perfect place to stay while visiting and exploring the Cape. Judi, Thankyou again, see you soon! Lori,Tim,Abbey,Hilary,Jenelle and Rainie

We stayed here during Memorial weekend, had our own secluded boat dock with stunning views of the large pond, we kayaked, we beached, we biked, with easy access to all the main attractions of the Cape. Here is a video of our glorious time, please do not blame the poor acting on the effects of location! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGlRvd8a97U Our host Judi was a stunning lady who was available to give advice on and off the road, thank you so much for a lovely stay. The house itself is filled with danish flea market finds, has a simple life feel with all the kitchen essentials one would need and a mean grill!
Owner response:I enjoyed watching the video - what fun! It was a pleasure having you all here and am delighted you enjoyed your stay. I look forward to your return in the future!

Thank you for sharing this special spot with us. After a week here, we definitely feel βone with nature. It has been a great break from city living, the peace and quiet at night, the wind in the trees and trying to distinguish the different frog and bird calls. We found the sounds differ depending upon the hour of the day. Fishing at the dock was very relaxing and despite all the rain we found the calm surroundings enabled our relaxing vacation. Thank you again!!
