We invite you to enjoy our little piece of paradise on Long Pond, a 50-acre fresh water pond. Nestled at the bottom of a hill, surrounded by pines, on the edge of Long Pond with approximately 280’ of private waterfront and a private dock, the Boathouse and the Studio remain as they were in the first half of the 20th century, but with modern updates.

With vaulted ceilings and abundant water views, whether being observed from inside through the cottages' windows and glass sliding doors or from the deck on the edge of the water, you will find Long Pond Cottages a perfect place to gather friends or family or just relax in solitude. The Boathouse was originally built as an ice house in the 20s and expanded to a boathouse by Major Stuart who lived across the street in his summer home. The cottages were sold in the 40s and the Boathouse had 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms and living room added making it a simple cottage. The other cottage, known as the Studio, was built in the 30s for the Major's wife to use as a tranquil place to paint and relax on the pond. The Studio provides additional sleeping quarters.

The cottages retain their vintage charm. All of the rooms of both cottages face onto the pond providing spectacular sunsets. Sliding glass doors on the Boathouse lead from the living room and kitchen/dining area to the deck. The Boathouse, the main cottage, has one bedroom with a queen size bed, a living room with a couch that folds down to a queen size bed, a large kitchen/dining area, a fully stocked kitchen, one and one-half baths, and an open air deck at the edge of the pond. The Studio provides one additional bedroom with a double bed and a small living room with a trundle bed.

The Property includes a small private dock, a beach pass to all Barnstable beaches, 2 kayaks, and permits well-behaved dogs in accordance with our dog policy that is available on our private web site.

Along with your bathing suit, towel and book, bring your walking shoes, canoe and bicycle and leave your worries behind. We invite you to enjoy our little piece of paradise on the edge of Long Pond, located in Centerville, Massachusetts - a place that we hope that you find as special and unique as we do.

Centerville sits on a peninsula on the southern side of Barnstable. With its maritime location on Nantucket Sound, Centerville was once home to wealthy ship captains who built stately homes on Main Street in the early 1800s (just around the corner from the Cottages). Centerville is also home to Craigville, Covell and Long Beaches and the famous Four Seas Ice Cream, all within a one-mile walk from our pond-front cottages.

The cottages are unique, designed simply for your comfort – to relax, nap, read, swim, paddle a canoe or kayak, take a walk or bike ride, have an ice cream, explore the beaches and discover why the Cape is such a special place.

Owner's Map of Centerville

We are four siblings and a husband/brother-in-law who purchased this property last fall 2008. Cape Cod has always been in our hearts, having summered here as children and vacationed here as adults. We wanted a place to reconnect as family in a place we love. We hope that you find Long Pond Cottages as special and unique as we do.

We are standing on the deck of the Boathouse toasting our new cottages on Long Pond.

    • Thank you for sharing this special spot with us. After a week here, we definitely feel “one with nature. It has been a great break from city living, the peace and quiet at night, the wind in the trees and trying to distinguish the different frog and bird calls. We found the sounds differ depending upon the hour of the day. Fishing at the dock was very relaxing and despite all the rain we found the calm surroundings enabled our relaxing vacation. Thank you again!!
