We stayed at this west Vail studio condo during a week in January 2013. It was clean, nicely decorated and well appointed with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. It was great to be able to cook breakfast and dinner . Also having a washer /dryer availability is helpful too. Within short walking distance downhill to the free shuttle to Vail mountain--about 15 to 20 minute ride. Parking a car at the condo was fine. We never used the outside hot tub but did look it over and it was nice however we just were too tired from skiing to to use it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to other couples.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed here over the New Year holiday, and it was just perfect. The shuttle is literally a 1 minute walk from the condo, and the Vail shuttle system is really efficient. We were able to cook at home a few of the days, and Billy has the kitchen completely stocked with pots/pans/kitchen tools. The closet and bathroom were surprisingly large, so although the condo is small, there was plenty of room for all of our ski clothes, etc. At one point during the stay, I called Billy to ask a question, and he returned my call within minutes. I would recommend this place to anyone!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The studio is exactly as described and offers great amenities including a large full kitchen and very large bath! The hot tub is a great addition but with a full 3 units is hard to find a time when it is not jammed already...especially during peak times following skiing. The only issue with it being on the lower level is that you can hear footsteps from upstairs anytime someone is walking around, which with it being a larger unit there tends to be more people and thus more footsteps. All in all we loved our stay and look forward to returning in February...just hope there are less feet and dogs walking around above us!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, adventure seekers.
Owner response: We have a no-shoe policy to help alleviate possible noise from the upstairs unit though sometimes it's hard to control this request. We will try to do a better job of detailing this as a requirement both by labeling it outside the door but informing our guests upon check in. Also we just installed a large area rug to cover the space above this unit so that we minimize noise interference from the upstairs unit.

Eagle's Nest was a beautiful place for a fall getaway; the amenities and facilities of the home were great. The property is pet friendly and there is a dog park just a short walk away. As others have mentioned, definitely bring slippers as the stone floor gets quite cool. There was everything we needed to cook and the availability of the grill and hot tub were well appreciated. Billy has gone out of his way to make it easy with plenty of labels and directions throughout the unit and a great binder full of information and local places to eat. Would return in a heartbeat for some more peace and relaxation :)Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My husband, son, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eagle's Nest. The property was cute, cozy, clean, up-dated, and fully stocked. It had all the amenities we needed to cook full meals, do our laundry, and save money on our vacation. We loved the hot tub upstairs and used it each night. I loved how Billy had labels and notes throughout the unit, this eliminated any questions or uncertainties we may have had. But my favorite part about our stay was that Billy was fully available to help us and do everything in his power to make our stay as comfortable as possible. He even had a binder full of recommended activities and restaurants (many of which we took advantage of). We plan to return next year and probably after year after that. Thank you, Billy, we already miss your cozy little studio!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Eagle's Nest is a great studio for your Vail vacation! The furnishings are of high quality, and the large bathroom and kitchen are big advantages. Washer and dryer are high quality as well, and free! Large TV, nice coffeemaker, big fridge....the list goes on. The floor can get chilly, so bring good socks or slippers. If three cars are there, the parking is a little tight, but no problem at all. I would definitely stay again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was a cozy, comfortable studio. It was roomy enough that it didn't feel crowded. The only negative was that because it is the lower level unit of a 3 unit building, it was pretty dark inside with no view at all. The LED lights didn't seem to lighten the space very well, and midway through our stay, they began flickering significantly. The owner is aware of it, and was planning to address the issue. The owner did a nice job providing us with information to make our stay easier, including names and phone numbers of the people staying in the other units, information on parking, etc.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.
Owner response: We have addressed the lighting issue by replacing the light switches with LED compatible switches & dimmers. We have added more LED lights in three of the track spaces and two corner lamps to illuminate the unit more effectively.

Loved the Eagle Nest studio! Was kinda bummed that the fireplace wasn't able to be used but the kitchen had just enough space for us to cook breakfast and/or lunch before hopping on the bus a block away and heading to the slopes or just into Vail Village for some shopping and dinner. Convenient drive to the Safeway and City Market as well as the west Vail restaurants like May's Palace and Westside Cafe for renting movies, buying supplies, or a quick bite to eat without using the bus. Don't forget slippers though as the basement unit is completely tiled and those tiles get cold!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: I split our time between Vail & Austin, TX. I am an avid swing & lindy hop dancer and travel all over the US competing & social dancing. My goal is to some day live in the Vail Valley full time and help build a local dance community. Though my passion is dancing & teaching dance, my career is selling meat or other protein based foods all over the world. I'm fulfilling the destiny of a long line of meat traders from back in the 1930's when my grandfather sold meat for Swift in Chicago. Another passion of mine is snowboarding & telemark skiing, lately it's been all about telemarking.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
Intermountain, West Vail is so convenient, our Private Mountain House is centrally located between Vail, Minturn, Beaver Creek, Avon & Edwards making the drive to any ski area/parking access to lifts within 10 - 15 minutes. My family has been vacationing in the Vail valley since the 1980's, I grew up vacationing in this area. It's hard to beat what Vail Valley has to offer throughout the year.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I wanted to have a place in Vail that was close enough to rely on public transportation to get to the town of Vail but central enough to drive down valley to Avon & Edwards. The home is in a private, residential neighborhood which is close to the park & Stephens Off Leash dog park and a three minutes walk to the Meadow Creek Bus stop that picks up every 15 to 30 minutes depending on the season. The private shared hot tub allows our guests to unwind after a long day of activities. We are dog friendly for non-aggressive breeds.
