AFFORDABLE, GREAT PLACE TO STAY!
AFFORDABLE, GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

My family stayed at Ray's Riverfront from July 20-29th, 2012, to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. Some of us drove from Bakersfield, Ca & others flew into Reno & San Francisco. This place is close to everything & Tahoe is such a great place to visit. (Lake Tahoe is huge & is the most clean & clear lake I have ever seen & so blue!) We started looking at places to rent about 6 months prior & we chose this home because it was affordable, it accomodated 10-12 people & because of the photos in the VRBO listing. Also, the property manager was very helpful & easy to work with. When we arrived, the property was nicer than expected..a beautiful piece of land in South Lake Tahoe..close to everything, but far enough away from the noise of Tahoe. Only minutes away from grocery store & about 15 minutes awayfrom gambling at the state line. Most of all we enjoyed the deck & the views from the deck are awesome. The property is very peaceful...many tall pines & clean, blue sky. Nice fire pit in the back yard that is great for roasting marshmallows. Temperature was perfect with highs of 75 in late July. The house temperature is regulated & very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything & a large Weber on the deck allowed us to prepare & enjoy all our meals at home. This home has a nice, huge table in the dining area. We were able to watch the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics together & a couple of S.F. Giants games. Home has good television reception & good internet connection. A good place for kids..things to do inside & outside of the house. Home is equipped with game table, board games, game system & lots to do outside. Nice bedrooms, bathrooms & really nice loft. We are all looking forward to visiting Tahoe & Ray's Riverfront again soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed here with my entire family for a long week before Christmas just to relax and it could not have been better. There was plenty of space for everyone and the home never felt crowded. The house is big and super comfortable. We enjoyed our evenings sitting by the fire stove, sipping wine in the cozy living room. It is conveniently located to hike the trails near the Echo summit. We hiked the upper and lower Echo Lake and it was fantastic. Thanks for sharing your beautiful retreat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family stayed at this beautiful home for 6 days. It was the best vacation ever. The home is beautiful and spotless. Everything you need is provided for you. There are plenty of bedrooms to house a large family like ours. The large dining room table made it easy for family dinners. The grounds are beautiful with a huge grassy area for the kids to play and adults to play soccer. The property backs up to a flowing creek. It is beautiful to sit outside by the creek and read. We enjoyed the firepit at night. There are hiking trails close by. The home is conveniently located to everything in Tahoe. It's a beautiful and quiet refuge to take your family. We plan on going back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was my first VRBO and I have to say I was very pleased. Some of my family can be very picky and the property was in very good condition so all were happy and had a great time. The location was perfect for us, so much so, we never left the house. Thank you again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: I have been skiing around Tahoe for over 35 years. A couple of years ago, my family and I realized a longtime dream of owning a vacation home in Lake Tahoe. When looking for this home, we wanted a place that felt like a peaceful mountain retreat. Our family loves the outdoors and all the fun recreation that goes with it; and this vacation home let's us enjoy all of it. We have put a lot of love and effort into upgrading the house into a comfortable and welcome place to enjoy. We hope you enjoy it too.
Why the Owner Chose Christmas Valley 1:
When we found this property on the Upper Truckee River, we knew we found the right place. It is a beautiful property with a historic ranch on the other side of the river and awesome mountain, river and meadow views. This house is not crammed onto a small lot like so many homes in Tahoe. This home is on an acre with a big deck that overlooks the large grassy area next to the river. We also chose this area because the property is close to Kirkwood, Heavenly and Sierra at Tahoe ski areas. All the amenities of South Lake Tahoe are also nearby.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Swimming in the river and just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful scenery without having to drive anywhere. The beautiful beaches of Lake Tahoe are a short drive. Skiing and snowboarding at Kirkwood, Heavenly, and Sierra at Tahoe ski resorts. Backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking (Mr. Toad's Wild Ride mountain bike trail is nearby), golfing, all the recreation a mountain enthusiast could want. Fall colors in Hope Valley are just 10 minutes away.
