It is a mere five minute walk to the Sea Pines Golf Center with its two 18-hole golf courses and the world-renowned Golf Academy. And you are only a six minute walk up the beach to the Sea Pines Beach Club with its full bar, restaurant and water-sports rentals. Shopping, Tennis and Fine or Fun Dining is all just a bike ride away along Sea Pines’ miles of beautiful paved bike paths. Six bicycles are provided at the home for you use during your stay, as well as all the beach chairs and toys you’ll need to make going to the Beach a breeze, and ease your packing burden!
Southern Comfort is perfectly situated between a lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean in the exclusive Beach Lagoon neighborhood. Its unique paddle lot provides direct, private beach access down a beautifully landscaped and lighted 50 yard brick walk just steps from your 60ft X 60 ft secluded pool/hot tub/entertaining courtyard. The property also has a 20ft X 20ft Ocean Front deck complete with Lounge Chairs, Picnic Table and Shower. This deck is perfect for sunrise breakfasts, lunches, casual cocktails, romantic evening dinners, and of course, sunbathing and dolphin watching all day long.
The nearly 4000 square foot home, while retaining some of its original charm, was completely renovated in 2005. The house has been professionally decorated in traditional West Indies style, with large, light-filled rooms, brick and hardwood floors, and quality British Colonial and French pieces providing a warm and inviting atmosphere to family and friends. It boasts all new bathrooms, including an expanded Master Bathroom with Jacuzzi Tub, Heated Floors and Steam Room, a new Master Bedroom sitting area with lovely Ocean Views, and a brand new Kitchen with Carrera marble countertops and Stainless Steel appliances. Additions for 2010 include a new roof and landscaping, new furnishings and electronics, and all new linens.
This home can accommodate 12 – 16 people in five spacious bedrooms – each with its own bathroom and television. Two Bedrooms, The Ocean View Master Suite with King Bed and a second Lagoon view Bedroom with Queen Bed are located upstairs. Downstairs, a second Master Bedroom with King Bed and Lagoon View, another Lagoon View bedroom with Queen Bed, and a great Bunk Room with four Full Beds located just off the Pool Deck round out this home’s spacious and private sleeping accommodations.
Southern Comfort also has a multitude of living areas so that guests can gather - or hide away for a little quiet time. Upstairs, the Great Room with spacious living and dining areas and 50” plasma TV with Bose Speaker System joins the expansive Screened Porch in providing great gathering and dining space with gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean. Downstairs, a family room with TV and surround sounds opens onto the 60ft X 60ft Entertaining Area complete with several seating areas, Outdoor Fireplace, Grill, and a 10 person dining table – all leading to the fabulous Ocean Deck.

What a wonderful week our family (15 of us spanning 3 generations) had at Southern Comfort! The house is well deserving of its name!! We did not want for anything! You've heard it said that it's all about LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION and Southern Comfort has the perfect location! We were close enough to the things we wanted to do in Sea Pines (by driving or by biking on the awesome bike trails) and the proximity to the ocean is incredible! I have been marketing leisure travel and luxury destinations for over ten years, and am comfortable in saying that in all of my experience, both professional and personal, that Southern Comfort was perfect for our family vacation. Its quiet and exclusive lagoon setting within the most sought after part of the island, Sea Pines, makes this the best of the best. From this central location there was unsurpassed accessibility to attractions, services, restaurants and more. The home is a relaxing mixture of comfort, utility, and fun decor features, which honestly earn the designation Southern Comfort. Gleaming white beach, pool and patio, broad porch, interior gathering areas and private rooms all combined to make this vacation home exceedingly distinctive. Mark and Nancy Toro, thank you. I've just returned from Southern Comfort (begrudgingly), where I facilitated a corporate retreat for my company's top executives. A month earlier, I participated in an offsite meeting here with a different group. This is an AMAZING place. The house is welcoming, warm and spacious. The furnishings and accessories are exquisite. My favorite place was the large,(huge, really) round diningroom table . The intimacy from our meals together carried over to the meetings and we accomplished more than I anticipated. I attribute that to the "feel" of this special location. Both groups were comfortable and happy. After morning strolls on the beach, we held strategic planning meetings in the living room. Then, we were off to the golf course in the afternoon for a team scramble. The atmosphere was conducive to both team-building (including bocce on the beach) and socializing (great sound system) and my team bonded like never before. With all that was happening, we each still had time for quiet reflection and relaxation. This is a very versatile setting and exceeded my expectations in every way. We'll definitely be back !!

My family and I had a wonderful time vacationing at Southern Comfort the week of my sister's wedding. Having visited Hilton Head 25+ times, I can honestly say that Southern Comfort was the nicest accommodation we've ever had the pleasure of staying in on the island. While there was plenty to do in Sea Pines and the rest of the island, we ended up spending the bulk of our time at the property-particularly in the private courtyard enjoying the heated pool and hot tub. We also spent time with family and friends on the large screened-in porch and the private deck overlooking one of the most attractive stretches of beach on the island. The house was well equipped and was very comfortable- lots of charm and a continuously pleasant breeze from the nearby ocean. Be sure to bring your favorite CDs or ipod to use with one of the two surround sound theatre systems at the house. The master suite was magnificent. We practically had to drag my dad out of the steam room in the master bath on check-out day. Our experience with the owners and property manager was also very positive. On one day during our visit, the hot tub started to drain unexpectedly following a routine maintenance visit from the pool company. We immediately called Richard who dropped what he was doing to solve the problem. He was at the property within minutes with the pool people to resolve the issue.

Hi, Mark and Nancy - Just wanted to tell you that we had the greatest time in Hilton Head at your beautiful home. It was wonderful to be with old friends in such a relaxed and engaging environment. We truly enjoyed our entire time there. The house is really spectacular. We were taken with all of the little touches that you've built into the place. The views, the flow, the relationship with the beach and ocean - and it didn't hurt that we had perfect weather all week. Everyone loved your furnishings, and we were grateful that all the furniture and gathering spots were so consistently comfortable. We barely left the house but for bike rides and walks around the lagoon. Please thank Richard for his hospitality during our stay. He was quick, accessible and courteous. And thanks for having the alligator hang out on the lagoon bank. That was one picture that my daughter made sure to take to school with her. We've had one or two folks inquire about futures when they heard about how pleased we were. If they get serious, I'll pass them along to you. What a terrific vacation spot - quiet & beautiful. Southern Comfort is well-designed & spacious - perfect for several couples to share or families with kids. The outdoor entertainment areas are wonderful - the pool, the large patio with the outdoor fireplace & grill, the screened-in porch, the beach access. It's all good!

I can't imagine a more perfect beach home! It's close to numerous restaurants and amenities but myself and the other guests didn't want to leave the house. It has a pool,hot tub, private walkway to a beautiful, quiet beach and the house itself is spacious, comfortable and impeccably decorated, it was more than we expected! Thanks!

We stayed at Southern Comfortm during the week of Aug 14-21, 2004. We have stayed at several homes in Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach and Emerald Isle. Each house we thought could not get any better. However, Southern Comfort topped them all. The home is truly beautiful, The pool and the hot tub were the best we have ever seen! The Sea Pines beach is by far the best in Hilton Head, and the privacy of the beach was great. Truly an outstanding home for a relaxing family vacation. We are definitely returning here!!! (The alligator in the lagoon in front of the house is an added bonus for kids!!)
