Welcome to our century home in Niagara in the village of Jordan Station.
Here you will find yourselves in the heart of the Twenty Valley Niagara wine region with over 30 wonderful wineries, many provincial parks, shopping, restaurants, and award-winning golf courses all nearby. You will be only a 25-minute drive to Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake (and the Shaw Festival) and less than an hour from Toronto or Buffalo/Fort Erie. Our house is set in a small village of century homes with nearby orchards and vineyards. It is just a 2-minute drive or 15-minute walk from Jordan Village and it's quaint and stylish shops, inns and restaurants.
The house is a recently renovated century home built in 1909 and is loaded with character and charm in addition to being newly and comfortably furnished. The main floor consists of a large, gourmet-friendly, country-kitchen with a table for six. The kitchen looks out onto the spacious deck with patio furniture and a large, landscaped yard. Just off the kitchen is a combination laundry room (with modern washer and dryer) and a second bathroom including a shower.
The main sitting-room/parlour is at the front of the house and looks out onto our semi-wrap-around porch. It is furnished with comfortable chairs and sofa, perfect for a quiet afternoon reading or napping. (Almost all of the rooms in the house have a collection of recently published books for your reading pleasure.) Next to the sitting room is the dining room with an antique dining table and and a turn-of-the century jam cupboard.
On the second floor you will find the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a large walk-in closet. At the top of the stairs is the second bedroom with a double-bed and an antique dresser. Finally on this floor is the main bathroom which is generously sized, modern, and has a wonderful large bath tub, perfect for a long soak (and book read!).
The third floor of the house is the attic-loft that has been recently renovated. It is spacious and bright with sitting chairs, a futon double-bed and a single bed tucked away in one of the alcoves. The loft also has a flat-screen HD-TV and DVD player with an interesting selection of movies/TV-series on DVD for your enjoyment.
PLEASE NOTE: Our house was purchased as a getaway for ourselves from the busy-technological days. With that in mind, there is no telephone, cable or internet service provided at the house. Your cell phones/mobile devices should have moderate-decent coverage in the Jordan Station/Niagara region.

Even in February as the snow piled up outside there was such a cozy atmosphere in this lovely home. Roads were plowed and we could still get out for dinner at the Jordan House Tavern and watch a hockey game or hear live music. Helpful reviews of many other great restaurants and wineries are provided by the owners. My favourite spot for hikes with my dog was "Forest Frolic" at Balls Falls, but there are many trails (including the Bruce Trail) to chose from. We loved it so much we stayed for over two months, and watched the daffodils open in the garden in mid April! Thank you Bonnie and James for being such great hosts!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you are planning a getaway to Niagara Wine Country, you need to stay here. Very well equipped kitchen, large back yard, 10 min stroll to downtown Jordan. The house was very clean, and the owners left lots of information on what is around and what to do in the surrounding area. I would recommend renting this house to both young or mature people, it is a great way to travel.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thank you for a most comfortable stay in your lovely home. It is very well equipped and peaceful. We enjoyed the area very much: learned something of the wines (!) and the friendly people. We are thinking of revisiting the area again in the close futureDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a lovely and relaxed week, the quiet neighborhood, but close to all amenities was ideal. Loved the wineries and Upper Canada Cheese place! Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My mom and I enjoyed a lovely week long stay in the Young's century old home. After touring about St.Catherines and the surrounding area it was nice to return to the 'country' like setting of Jordan Station. We were only a short drive to local amenities and not too far from Niagara on the Lake/Niagara Falls. The house was clean and comfortable. We hope to stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

The house was lovely. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there (and more). The back deck was a great place to have dinner and breakfasts. We were so close to great golfing, wineries and restaurants. I'd love to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The owners of this period house obviously enjoy the good life and are keen to share it with their guests. The house boasts some lovely antique pieces and the kitchen is the best stocked of any rental property I've stayed in with basic groceries, oils, condiments and spices left for guest use. The best feature, for us, was the garden deck with swing seat and the wonderful array of periodicals, books and DVDs left for entertainment. The only slight issue was a lack of pool, given the high summer temperatures but - problem solved - the community outdoor pool is about 1km away! Otherwise a fantastic stay in a real character home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Bonnie and James Young live in Toronto but steal-away whenever they can to their house in Niagara.
Why the Owner Chose Niagara-on-the-Lake:
We have been visiting the Niagara wine region for years and came to the realization that we should make it a more permanent part of our lives. We hope to retire in the area one day.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our Jordan Station house is over 100 years old, built for the son of this small town's patriarch from the 19th century. It was fully renovated just a few years ago and we have further updated most of the house since becoming the owners in 2010. Less than one hour from Toronto, our Niagara house is one of our dreams come true and we hope your time spent in the heart of the Niagara region will become a memory of perfection!
