Babbling Brook Cottage sits at the edge of Gouldsboro Bay which is painted with lobster buoys marking the traps to be hauled with the daily catch of Maine lobster. Kayaking and sailing are both options along this pristine shore, and the easy access to the water’s edge make for a perfect day of exploring the coastline.
This newly renovated cottage offers a master bedroom with a queen bed and patio door to view the incredible Easternmost sunrise in the United States; a second bedroom with two twin beds; a fully equipped kitchen; a dining area; a large living room with a queen size sleeper sofa for the occasional visitor during your stay, along with patio doors overlooking the ocean; full bathroom; washer and dryer; deck offering breathtaking views; satellite TV; local phone service.
Gouldsboro is located in the middle of the Downeast and Acadia regions of Maine. Acadia National Park and the Bar Harbor region are only a mere hour drive and Quoddy State Park is about two hours away – perfect day treks only to return to the peace and quiet of this seaside haven. Get lost in time on our expansive deck where peace and quiet are endless. It provides a most tranquil spot for reading, relaxing, or bird watching.
More urban shopping needs can be met in nearby Ellsworth. With only a half hour drive you will find a couple of “big box” stores, dining experiences for every palate, and a wonderful Main Street experience. Only ten minutes east you will find the small coastal community of Milbridge, which is home to a quaint supermarket, banks, a gas station, two restaurants, a pharmacy, and an old time movie theatre featuring new releases.

My husband and I, along with our family really enjoyed the time spent at the cozy cottage in Maine. We slept well in the very comfortable beds while there. The price offered was reasonable and affordable for us and we were pleasantly surprised at all the amenities included (i.e. extra bottled waters available, food in the pantry, shampoo to use, new bar of soap, laundry soap w/ washer and dryer usage, linens and towels provided, pots and pans, including a lobster pot available for use, and the list goes on.) We could smell the salt of the sea and enjoyed a bit of exploring the rocks before the tide came in. We enjoyed taking a walk down the road and even met some of the friendly neighbors. Rates
June/Sept/Oct $850/week or $150/night; July/August $950/week Weeks run from 4pm Saturday to 10am Saturday. $400 damage deposit required. Half the total rent and securty deposit due at time of reservation. Remaining balance due 30 days prior to arrival date.
