This classic Balboa beach house is very comfortable, and is located seconds from the sand. There is simply so much to do in the area, you will have a hard time finding the time to do it all or just stay longer! You can relax on the stretch of beach in front of the house and read a book, or use the provided fishing gear for guests and catch your meal surf fishing along the stretch of beach out front or off the public dock just two blocks away. If you enjoy kayaking, launch your craft from the dock and explore the back bays of Newport and the Balboa Peninsula. The amusement park on Balboa Peninsula offers an array of fun for all ages, as well as superb restaurants located just minutes from the house. All areas are simply an easy bike ride away, so bring your cruiser, mountain bike, road bike or roller blade and explore all locations. Take the local boardwalk and cruise up and down to the Newport Pier and some of the fun area attractions and restaurants. If you can't bring your bike and sporting gear, no worries!
There are rental shops up and down the Peninsula and in Newport. The bottom line is that the Nickey Beach House is located close to everything yet when the day ends, you are in a really cute quiet neighborhood away from the Newport traffic!
P.S. The sunsets are simply delightful out in front of the house. Bring your camera!

I spend 18 days in Newport with 2 of my friends this year and we couldn't have been happier with this house. "The wedge house" as it became know by our friends is in a great location. Far enough away from the traffic of Newport but still only a short bike ride away. I cannot say enough about Alan. He was fantastic. Always only a e mail away, he was always on hand to provide great information on the area and all there is to do. Overall it is a fantastic house for a vacation. When I come back to Newport it will be the first place I look to.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the Nickey beach house. The house was layed our perfectly for our family. We rented the house with no hassels. Enjoyed hosting our daughers rehearsal dinner BBQ on a friday night, and then getting ready for the wedding the next day. Plenty of room for all of us :) Thank you!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We just spent a week at Nicky's place, can't say enough about this home, very clean, and was well stocked with so many extras. Our children/grandchildren had such a great time and we've decided to do this again yearly. Thanks so much to Alan, we communicated well and he answered all my questions. The location was great, very close to beach area and great places to walk too and enjoy Balboa peir, it's restaurants and kid's attractions.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

If you're looking for posh and trendy this house isn't for you. But if you're looking for a good deal in the Newport area in a nice quiet neighborhood, good location, then look no further. The house could do with some upgrades, but everything is functional and very homey. While our stay was only a couple of nights, it was really nice that they had a couple of beach bikes, beach chairs, boogey boards etc. They other women who rented the house with me on this visit took down the information for potential future stays with their families. So I'd call that a good recommendation. Alan, the property manager, is great!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

Thank you for letting us enjoy your Newport Beach house!! What a great little house, one street off the beach!!! The bikes were great to take a ride down to the shops at the Newport Pier. The boogie boards came in handy to catch a wave or two. We had excellent weather, and couldn't have asked for a nicer home, or a better location! The home was clean, and dealing with Alan and Dave was a joy!! Hope to come back again! What a beautiful home, what an amazing location, and what great people to deal with! I was in the area for medical purposes, and am so thankful I found such a safe, cozy and friendly place to heal. We really had all the comforts of home, and with so much so close, boredom was never an issue. The proximity to the beach is perfect, everything is provided for you, it is a pet-friendly environment, and you can't beat the location- so many things are only a few minutes away. And we didn't have to fight for parking - you can't beat that! I may sound overly enthusiastic, but to articulate how friendly and accommodating the owners are, I forgot a nice piece of diamond jewelry, and it was mailed to me the next week! We will be back to make more memories here every year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
