Not as described or pictured

Date of Stay: 10/03/11 Review Submitted: 10/11/11

My wife and I rented the cozy cabin based on the pictures on the internet and the descriptions available. The cabin did not resemble the pictures in anyway. Part of the roof at the back of the cabin had fallen in, the place was over grown with weeds and the interior of the cabin was dark and dingy. Not any place that i would like to vacation.

June 2011

Guest: Davey (Pennsylvania)
Date of Stay: 06/25/11 Review Submitted: 07/25/11

Our family stayed at Brooktout in June 2011. The group included twelve adults, two teens and two toddlers and one dog. The basement (not shown in photos or layout diagram) has three bedrooms and two baths. The total of four bathrooms was great for our big group. Bill was a very hospitible host. The house was clean and well-stocked with cookware, towels, linens and eating utensils. The entrance to Yellowstone park is about ten minutes away. We used the WIFI to access the internet every day with no issues. I would highly recommend Brooktrout to anyone with a large group. Our ages ranged from <1 to >70.

Brooktrout Inn-a great place to relax

Guest: Kathy (Shepherd, MT)
Date of Stay: 05/10/11 Review Submitted: 05/30/11

We stayed at the Brooktrout Inn in May 2011. The cabin was beautiful and though the weather was cold the cabin was very comfortable and relaxing. The bedrooms are very comfortable and large enough to not feel crowded. The dining area was quite large and the kitchen had great amenities. The entrance to West Yellowstone was easy to find and after long days of wildlife viewing the cabin was a welcome respite. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so did our 2 small dogs who enjoyed the spaciousness of the home. A special thanks to the owner for his hospitality.

Bull Elk Lodge

Guest: Jon (Chicago, IL)
Date of Stay: 10/04/10 Review Submitted: 04/10/11

I brought my daughter and 2 friends for a week at the Bull Elk Lodge, it was perfect! Only minutes from downtown West Yellowstone and the park. The home was very clean had everything that we needed to cook and have a great time. The outside deck was great for BBQ, and star watching at nights. Bill was very friendly and was available at all times if we had any questions. My daughter got to go horseback riding a block away from the property. One of best part of our vacation was Bill's friend Cory, who rents ATV's. He delivered 4 ATV's right to the Bull Elk Lodge for 4 days of riding. You can explore Two Top mountain and Lions Head right from the property. We even took the trails from the mountains right into West Yellowstone to have breakfast or lunch on the ATV's. The trails were endless, and Cory provided us with detailed maps of the mountain trails and the area around Bull Elk Lodge. Fishing, exploring, horseback riding,ATV,star gazing are just a few of many things to do. We are already planing for a return vacation. Thanks Bill and Cory!!

Bull Elk Lodge

We stayed here 5 nights and loved this lodge. Plenty of room for 8 adults and 2 children, with beds left over. Fully stocked with all the basics, all we brought was food and drinks. Close to the West Yellowstone entrance, it was a great place to begin our sightseeing each day. Bill was a gracious host, and worked very hard to get the wireless internet going for us and making sure everything was perfect for our stay.

We loved our stay here!

Our family rented Bull Elk Lodge and Brooktrout Inn a few weeks ago. Bill is an amazing host and we found both properties to be clean, neat and nicely stocked for our needs. Both lodgings are located just outside of town which is a nice place to head for some quiet and beautiful scenery after a day of touring. Bill recommended some horseback riding that was amazing. We all said that we would return to this area in a minute and would definitely come back to the Bull Elk or Brook Trout Inn. You won't be disappointed if you choose this jewel in West Yellowstone!

We had the best time at the Brook Trout Inn! The accomodations were beyond what we thought, very clean and every amenity you could think of from the kitchen, to the bath and bedrooms. Only suggestion when visiting in the spring, check the dates for when Yellowstone Park is open - we missed it by 2 days, but it did not ruin our visit, the snowmobiling was great (gas available on site) and the foosball table got a work out! We are already planning a trip back!

We stayed at Bull Elk Lodge this summer and LOVED it! It is so close to the entrance to Yellowstone and in a great area. There is rafting, fishing, and swimming close by. The house is gorgeous and well equipped. We had two families meet from opposite sides of the country with several kids and there was ample room (one whole bedroom went unused). Bill is a great host with a very clean and beautiful place. If we go to Yellowstone again, I imagine we will stay here again as well. Thanks for a memorable vacation!
