Callisto's Cottage is a three bedroom Breckenridge vacation rental that can sleep a maximum of six adults and seven with young kids.
Indulge in the true Breckenridge spirit and leave your car behind for the duration of your stay at Callisto’s Cottage – I promise you won’t need it! While here you are only a block and a half from Main Street, a ten minute walk to the Gondola or ten yards from the ski bus – it truly is all about Location, Location, Location at Callisto’s! So, bask in the pleasure of being so close to everything while still retaining the peace and quiet of Ridge St. Venture next door for a delicious twist on comfort food at the locals new favorite restaurant, Twist, or walk across the street to one of the oldest fine dining establishments – the Hearthstone, and enjoy a traditional and elegant meal by candle light. After dinner walk two blocks north and enjoy a play at the Backstage Theater. Your dining and entertainment options are endless while here so be sure to take advantage of it all.
As part of the historic district this quaint cottage offers more stories and personality then one would ever imagine. The Cottage has been a rental home for over a hundred years now and takes its name from a Greek myth dating back centuries more. But don’t let its age scare you, as with each new generation the home has both expanded and modernized, while still managing to hold on to its authentic historical charm.
According to an ancient myth Callisto is known as the Lady of the Wild Mountains. She ran free until Zeus’s wife Hera became jealous of her beauty and affair with her husband. For her protection, Zeus changed her into a bear and when hunters pursued her, Zeus sent her into the sky as a constellation. She can now be seen shining bright as the tail of the Big Dipper.
When visiting Breckenridge I suggest venturing onto the front porch to try and find her. Take part in our mountain culture and slow down to our speed to notice how much brighter the stars shine here compared to almost anywhere. This is only one of the unique and beautiful features of Breckenridge that you can enjoy while staying at Calisto’s Cottage.
If the crisp mountain air becomes too cold grab your swimsuit and hop in the 6-person hot tub to rejuvenate your tired legs and continue your stargazing. Or wander inside to warm up next to the potbellied fireplace and indulge in a cup of steaming hot chocolate. The open living room boasts a soft couch and warm leather chairs providing the perfect place to watch your favorite DVD, then test your skills on the X-Box or on balance with a game of Jenga in the upstairs loft.
After the games are done choose from one of the three plush beds which guarantee a restful night’s sleep. Then awake to an abundance of natural light streaming through the multiple windows. Once out of bed make sure to start your day off right with a homemade espresso only improved upon by the uninterrupted views of Peaks 8, 9, and 10. Don’t forget to boast about what a great time you are having here!
In addition each of our homes is only supplied with Eco-friendly tissues, soaps, detergent, and shampoo that have not been tested on animals. We strive to provide you with the best of everything to ensure you will come to love Breckenridge as much as we do.
We are happy to offer all guests staying at Callisto's Cottage DISCOUNTED LIFT TICKETS!
This home welcomes up to six adults or up to seven for families with kids under seven.

We had a wonderful visit in your lovely home. Two of us were from Denver and four from Jacksonville, FL. The house was so well appointed we could tell a lot of thought and love was put into it. Thanks a bunch!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Your cozy cottage is awesome. The hot tub feels great after a long day skiing. The snow is so beautiful and powdery, unlike the snow in Connecticut. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us on our vacation to Breck. The beds are comfy and the kitchen has many supplies! I am glad we could stay here instead of a big hotel! I think next time we come to Breck we will stay here again! Thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a wonderful experience to spend four weeks (3 by myself) in the absolutely perfectly thought out cottage. I was comfy from the minute I entered. It has a welcoming vice - really made for calm and relaxation. The kitchen is really well equipped, beds, couch really comfortable. It still amazes me how many people can sleep here. Thank you for sharing your great home. I suspect I will be back. Please call if you want to sell!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Loved your Cottage! We've stayed in many different ski town accommodations around the country and this was one of the best. You have done a wonderful job making this place quaint, comfortable, and a real home away from home. Thanks for sharing your place!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

It's so cold! We had a wonderful time in this cozy cottage. Totally appreciated the Christmas tree since we did not have one of our own this year or the year before. Barney Ford was an interesting character. Did not know television was present in the 1900s. Thank you for a wonderful time!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

As our time comes to a close we realize there isn't anywhere else we would have rather spent our three day weekend! Our Labor Day weekend was thoroughly enjoyed here in Breckenridge. Callisto's Cottage was the perfect place to unwind and get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We loved the close proximity to Main Street and the charm of this beautiful home. Thanks for your hospitality in hosting us and making this trip such a memorable one. P.S. We will be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Crisp mountain air. Cold river running. Aspen trees shimmering. Giant peaks casting shadows against the glorious golden sun. We could not have enjoyed this summer experience in Breckenridge anymore than we did in the beautiful Victorian home known as Callisto's Cottage. We thoroughly relished our time here, and we are thankful for the hospitality of our hosts/homeowners as well as the graciousness of Sarah and the people at Book Breck. We had a wonderful stay at Callisto's Cottage. Breckenridge in the summertime is like nothing else. The prime location was perfect for early morning coffee runs while the teenagers slept. The Cottage was a great spot to rest after hiking, rafting, kayaking, biking, horseback riding, fishing and dog sledding. We spent our late evenings catching up on the London Olympics which were winding down during our stay. Go USA! The week flew by, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Breck and Callisto's Cottage. Hope to see you next year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We enjoyed the Cottage very much. Arrived July 1, planning to stay the month. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. It was spotless when we arrived. We really enjoyed the outdoor area. Garden is beautiful. We had many animated discussions around the fire-pit. We hope to be back next year!Did you find this review helpful?
