Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps) apartment description
An apartment in the heart of Rome.
We offer you hospitality in the heart of Rome, in an elegant, historic residence that fills an entire little building, from the ground-floor to top floor, in what was originally the vicarage of a convent, just a minute's walk from the Piazza di Spagna.
We rent the home to people looking for the best possible position in the City's historic core, right next to the most elegant shopping streets and the renowned monuments.
Perfect for those seeking to avoid the usual hotel accomodations or an anonymous vacation apartment.
We will personally ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible.
We are confident that you will have such a wonderful stay in the City, in the house you can call your temporary home, that you will spread word of the experience to all your friends, and than come back for more.
You walk through the front door, and you are home, without any neighbouring apartments, as in other buildings.
As far as we know, no other tourist lodgings in Rome offer this particular feature.
The total living area of approximately 1070 square feet (100 mq.) is divided into ground-floor plud five other floors, each with a cosely small surface area that holds, respectively:
- the ground floor: the entryway
- the first floor: a room air-conditioned wit a double bed and a bathroom
- the second floor: a bedroom with two bunk-beds, bathroom in the basement
- the third floor: a bedroom air-conditioned with a double bed and a bathroom
- the fourth floor: a dinig room air-conditioned and a kitchen
- the fifth floor: a living room, air-conditioned, a terrace and a bedroom that gives onto the terrace and holds two twin bed plus bathroom facilities.
A confortable, centuries-old stairway made of Roman stone winds its way from one floor to the next. The historic status of the structure prevents installation of an elevator, but, except for those who have problems walking, the stairway and a small living spaces on each floor are what makes the home so exceptionnally welcoming and unique, lending an unmistakable sensation of authenticity to your stay in Rome.
Coming back to the first floor, you can find a room air-conditioned with a double bed plus an ample window that looks out into the Via Alibert. The furnishings are new and higly functional, designed to reconcile comfort and warmth. There is a bureau with plenty of roomy drawers, plus a full-length mirror with a hidden clothes compartment.
The room has a large bathroom that also comes with a sizeable window giving onto the street, plus an ample shower stall and all the other standard sanitary services.
At second floor there is the only bedroom in the house that does not have its own bathroom at the same level, but takes advantage of the one in the basement. Otherwise, it is perfect for two people, relatives or children, who can share the bathroom with the couple staying in the room below or in the room on the next floor up.
The two adult-size bunk beds were chosen in order to maximize the floor space.
The room has a large window that looks out onto the Via Alibert.
A small wardorobe closet can be used to store personal objects, and there is space for other clothes out on the landing, in a hanger unit that comes with a mirror.
At the third floor, the layout is the same as on the first floor. A room air-conditioned with a double bed facing out onto the Via Alibert. Lots of space for clothes, with a bureau and a wardrobe closet decorated with traditional floral motifs.
The furnishings are new and higly functional, showing the care that has been given to even the smallest detail.
This room also has a large bathroom with a window that looks out onto the Via Alibert, a roomy bathtub with the shower attachment and all the other necessary services, including a clothes-washer.
At the fourth floor there is the dining room, air-conditioned, faces onto the Via Alibert, can seat up to eight people for meals enjoyed in superb comfort.
The modern, coordinated decorating scheme, which includes a handsome glass table, eight comfortable seats and a serving cart, is designed to be warm and welcoming, as well as easy to clean and maintain.
The dining room is connected with the ample kitchen wich has a large window looking out on the Via Alibert, plus everything needed to prepare meals for a numerous or extended family.
Stored in the kitchen are tablecloths, plates. silverware and glasses, plus all the necessary pots, pans and utensils.
At the fifth floor there is the living room which is the hearth of the home. An ample space it is filled with light by two large windows that look out onto the Via Albert, as well as a third window that gives onto the terrace. Furnished in a higly functional manner, air-conditioned and enriched with antique decorative elements, it is a setting where all the guests can relax. This is the room where the television is located.
Rome's consistently mild climate makes it possible to extend the living room space onto the terrace with space for an other table where meals can be enjoyed out in the open, or you can simply relax in the sun.
The windows of the living room, as well as the terrace, offer a delightful view of the roofs of City, as well as the slopes of the Pincio gardens and the stirring facade of the historic Villa Medici.
At this floor there is the fourth room of the house, which comes with a window that looks out onto the Via Albert, plus a connected terrace.
The two beds in the room can be used either as twin beds or combined into a double bed.
The advantage of the room (except on rainy days!) is its separate entrance to the terrace, making it possible to take full advantage of this open space.
The room has a small bathroom whose sink is equipped with a shower attachment

A beautiful apartment in Rome
A beautiful apartment in Rome
We had a party of 8 and Rome was our first stop. We were very pleased with the location; it was only minutes away from the Spanish Steps and the subway station. The information provided on the website and by the owner was very helpful and accurate. When we arrived, we were greeted by an English speaking Lady who helped us to locate everything we needed on the map and showed us around the apartment. She was easily accessible by email throughout our stay in Rome. There are great shopping and restaurants in the area, and have easy access to grocery and cafe. The apartment is very comfortable; but as descripted on the website, the apartment is divided into ground floor plus 5 other floors therefore there are many steps to climb. Just be prepared for that. Thank you for having us!

My stay in Rome was a beautiful one! The apartment was very central, practically in Spanish Steps, clean and with a good air conditioning, exceptionally silent and with a very nice terrace to stay to rest and also for same meals. Nearby there are all possible and necessary facilities, from supermarket to the smartest shop in Rome. No need at all to have a car or to use taxis: you can walk to most of the important monuments of the city. Moreover we were very well assisted by an English speaking Lady who did the check in and stayed at our disposal by telephone for whatever was needed I hope to come back very soon.

My famliy and I stayed at this aparmtent for 9 days. As advertised, it was 5 floors with some floors having bathroom facilities. When we arrived, there was no one to let us in. When the manager finaly showed up (after phone calls to find him), he came with a friend from the local bar (he told us this). The apartment was not clean. The electricity was a nightmare with fuses blowing repeatedly. Although the location was great, I would not recommend it since it was quite expensive and very poorly maintained. I would not return there nor wou ld I recommend this to anyone.

Owner response: This negative remark has been written by a Traveler that in fact encountered some problems related to the check in and check out and several electrical black out. Now all has been solved, and we were glade to inform this Traveler of that and also to excuse our self of what happened. The electrical black out were due to the municipality electrical works in the same Alibert Street, of which we did not have any previous announcement. After a few days all was solved, but of course the stay of the Travelers was negatively affected. Also, not having previous experience with foreign travelers because the apartment was new on the market, we have now selected a very expert person who speaks a perfect English and is used to work in tourist field; hers tasks are, before any arrival, to check thoroughly the apartment as far as the clearness and the perfect functioning of all the plants, included of course electricity and air conditioning, the completeness of the sets of linen and every other equipment of the apartment. The same Lady, during the check in which is always done by her, is used to give her portable number to the Client, thus insuring him of a perfect follow up for any occurrences and also dispensing advices such as restaurants, shops, etc. during all the stay. Now the apartment is ready to receive the most exigent Client and we invite Travelers to reserve our apartment without any hesitation because they will spend a very pleasant stay in Alibert Terrace.
