Gorgeously renovated 1850's historic building in the heart of downtown Rockport. Huge windows with striking ocean, town and mountain views. Cherry wood floors, granite kitchen and bathroom counter tops, radiant floor heat, all newly renovated in 2011.
Everything is brand new: the furniture, beds, kitchen wear, everything!
We are in the heart of downtown Rockport You can walk to the Opera House, restaurants, Maine Media College and Workshops, The Bay Chamber Concerts, Center for Maine Contemporary Arts, galleries, YMCA, library, post office, shops and harbor with beach. There is a magical walk along the sea to Camden, with the ocean crashing on rocks. It is also a lovely 1.5 mile walk directly to Camden.
The layout of the house is very comfortable. The fourth floor is majestic, with huge windows all around, an open loft-like flowing floor plan, a sunny cupola, cherry floors and gorgeous furniture. The house is very welcoming: whimsical, yet sophisticated. The three bedrooms and one full bath are on the third floor, which is entered in the back of the building at the ground level. The two bedrooms with king size beds both have views of the ocean and the Goose River. You can enter the forth floor by either the outside stairway to the upper deck or you can enter by the interior staircase; there is a second full tiled and granite bathroom on the fourth floor with views of the coastal mountains!
This house is perfect for a relaxing vacation by the sea. Sail or drive into the harbor and enjoy a week in Mid-Coast Maine. You will love the comfortable, cheerful, artistic environment. The house is lofty, airy, fresh and clean. Full of natural light and captivating views.
The attractive kitchen is ready for any culinary dreams you might have. Wholesome foods for healing and wellness can be prepared specially for you if requested. Please contact the owners for Chef services.
The house is natural and furnished with ecological materials. The kitchen has a water filter. The master bedroom has a top of-the-line latex mattress. All linens are 100% cotton. Couches and all furnishings are new in 2011. All rugs are 100% wool.

We were lucky enough to be there during the great leaf viewing season so windows on top floor excellent and was warm enough to hike around the small town. The 4th floor views were breathtaking! House overall very comfortable. Restaurant and lobster shack in walking distance. Was even able to purchase lobsters from the fisherman at the cove below and cook them up that night - best ever! Convenient parking right behind house. Comfy couches and set up for kitchen table maximizes all views. Bedrooms big with big beds! Only oddity was bathtubs up steps to get into. Great house for girls weekends or family outings!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

What a smashing spot to enjoy the true meaning of the Maine Coast surrounded by the maritime life and many places to walk and explore by foot. Well located, tidy, and with stunning light, this is THE place to stay when near Rockport. The fact that it had radiant floor heat and foam mattresses was appealing to keep my allergies in check, no carpeting and lovely linens. The notebook for visitors is full of terrific information and the owners are helpful. They have obviously equipped the place as they like it. A first class experience highly recommended--- you will not be disappointed by all the classy touches. The local food offerings kept us well-fed and I found a marvelous lobster pound in Owl’s Head where we got freshly caught lobster I saw brought out of the water right then. They will also cook it for you. Rockport has a golf course, plentiful walking paths, and something for everyone. This accommodation is light, colorfully decorated, well-appointed, and super comfortable. We all joked that we wanted to put the green chairs in the back of the car to take with us. We saw lovely stars, beautiful sunsets, working boats, nice art, and stunning vistas.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This is a fabulous place for a Maine vacation. I especially loved the top floor living room overlooking the harbor. You feel like you are on top of the world. It is filled with light and fun bright , happy furnishings. Sea breezes from the many windows make it feel fresh. It would be amazing for an artist's studio. The sleeping accomodation are very comfortable with good mattresses and reading lights. Plenty of storage space. Baths are modern and everything is immaculately clean. If you don't want to eat out the kitchen is fully furnished but there are also good restaurants within easy walking distance. Even though this is on Main Street it is quiet and restful. This is an ideal place for a quiet vacation or an adventure trip. There are many activities in the area and the town of Camden which is filled with shops and restaurants is only a few miles away. I highly recommend 23 Main for your vacation any time of year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We had the good fortune to stay in Rockport at this fantastic location. Looking down at the harbor at any time of day or night, the sight was dazzlingly beautiful and serene. Kayaking the harbor, hiking the surrounding hills, stopping at the nearby seafood market for the freshest most delicious fixings for dinner and all within very close proximity. Particularly nice is that just around the point is Camden with great yoga classes, shops, restaurants ...but you can return to this spot in Rockport which is a quiet and calm haven. Highly recommended for a fine getaway.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

About the owner: We are a family of three that has fallen in love with Camden and Rockport. We adore this building and are happy to be able to contribute to the preservation of the quaint artistic sea-loving village of Rockport. We are always delighted to be in the house, the views are captivatingly beautiful from morning till night. It is great to sit at the windows with binoculars and gaze at the views of the sea, the harbor, the town, or the mountains. We are happy to share our treasure with you! Camden and Rockport are towns with lots of interesting people and places. There is great theatre, galleries, festivals, contradances, fitness and Yoga classes, restaurants and other events.
Why the Owner Chose Rockport:
Our home is a special place as it is a historic building that is fully updated and charming, with modern large rooms and lots of light.
Rockport is a sweet town with a peaceful easy going feeling, and a refreshing lack of commercialism. There are fishing boats in the harbor, parks, inspiring arts and beauty all around.
