Problem for lake property
Problem for lake property
This condo is as attractive as the pictures show, with lots of drawers and closet space to put away your belongings and feel at home. The East Bay is very nice and shallow quite a way out. One can rent jet skis, stand-up paddle boards, Kayaks etc from friendly staff. The kitchen, without an oven, is a bit of a challenge as it is more of a bar kitchen. With the sliders and nice window placement it is very comfortable without the air condition running, which was our preference. The problem: there is only ONE towel bar and it is in the bathroom, none in kitchen area, no hooks in out out. For a lake property this was insufficient, and there is NO washer/dryer or even a drying rack (which we went and bought). I was Not going to spend my vacation going to a laundramat to wash towels.

Owner response: Our condo listing does not include a washer/dryer for laundry or an oven for baking. This is our only complaint in two years. Sorry that the renter did not read the entire listing. There is two towel bars in the condo and a bar holding up the shower curtains. That would be enough room to hang your wet towels to dry. Or one could hang them outside on the deck.
Great home away from home
Great home away from home
My husband and I recently spent a week in the Dillard's condo located in Acme Michigan. The condo was very comfortable for two adults. It's nicely decorated and everything was in working condition. It might be small for 4 adults as there is only one bathroom. The condo is in a resort area with a very nice pool and beach. We enjoyed Saturday night on the beach with a bonfire, live music and S'mores! Lawns and flowers are taken care of and there is ample beach furniture. We liked being close to a major route that allowed us to visit the sights of the area in Traverse City, the Leelanau and Mission Peninsula as well as many small towns that were nearby. Prior to our trip we received detailed instructions on the directions to the condo as well as many places to visit, grocery store, etc in the area. We also were welcomed with many brochures and maps in the condo for our use. We had internet access and two flat screen TV's. We highly recommend this condo for touring the area.

We had an amazing time at the condo. Very clean, comfortable, we had everything we needed for our stay that week. We had a great time drinking wine on the deck, very peaceful and quiet. Heated pool and hot tub was an added bonus because we thought it would be closed but it was still open that Sunday. Beautiful sunsets. Close to town, great dining, grocery store and Grand Traverse resort. Would definitely stay there again.

Year Purchased: 1984
About the owner: We have owned this condo since 1984 and have enjoyed it every season with our daughter. Now we are retired and still love the area. It is like a breath of fresh air everytime we come to our condo. The amenities in this area just keep us coming back for more. Hope the experience is the same for you.
Why the Owner Chose Traverse City:
We had been coming up to this area for years before we bought this unit. We stayed in one of the condos when it was first built and decided to buy. The closeness to the water and woods makes us feel in touch with nature and relaxed. Our condo was perfect for us because of the first floor. It was great with our daughter because she could play on the green space and we still had no noise from the pool area.
