From the moment I pulled into the property I was captivated by its beauty. From the manicured grounds, to the amazing flowers and fresh fruit the property has a "resort feel". The view of the lake and rolling hills is breath taking. I would sit drinking my coffee each morning and look at that view while seeing humming birds, toucans’, and other beautiful birds. House had all the comforts of home and is a very short drive to downtown. In town there are fresh food markets, grocery stores, restaurants, and more. The locals are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. Can't wait to return again!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Wow! I had a great stay in Costa Rica and spent 5 days here....I found the views of the Volcano and Lake just amazing! There is nothing like this property in the USA. The home is wonderfully updated and the rooms are perfect size for the whole family. I also discovered that this property is just a 2 hr ride to some of the best beaches in Costa Rica. I will make this my "destination" when staying in Costa Rica. It was an authentic costarican vacation and it was hard to leave. I'll be back soon! My thanks to the Owners!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: What a great way to spend some quiet time.... no traffic, no noise except nature and a truly green environment. Leave the hustle and bustle at home.

Our family enjoyed our stay in this home. The lush jungle surrounding the home is what really makes the property special. Our young children (ages 5 and 1 1/2) enjoyed going for walks on the jungle trails on the property, and they enjoyed seeing the cows, horses and chickens on neighboring properties. The home is sparkling clean. It is simply furnished with comfortable beds and living room furniture, and the kitchen is very well equipped for home cooking. The home is up a steep dirt road from the town of Nuevo Arenal, and there are restaurants, bakeries and grocery shopping just a few minutes away by car. The owner and property manager were extremely helpful in answering questions and arranging transportation. We would absolutely recommend this property to friends visiting the Nuevo Arenal area!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: There is so much to do and see in the local Arenal region..from hiking to biking, fishing to swimming, low adventure to high adventure, we are in the thick of it... all within a short distance of our property. Whatever your passion, Lake Arenal can help fulfill it...

We had a party of four adults - and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There is plenty of privacy and room for all. The house was very clean and comfortable (the pictures of the property are absolutely spot on). We loved sleeping with the windows open to hear the birds and enjoy the breeze. The balconies off most of the bedrooms are great for birdwatching or reading in the morning. The property itself is a wonder to explore (the plants are absolutely amazing), while the house has everything you need to relax. If you are ambitious, the grocery stores in town can supply most needs and the kitchen has everything you need to cook meals; otherwise you are only 3 km from multiple restaurants in town. We found it to be a great place to use as a base for hiking in the parks. The Hanging Bridge walk and Tabicon Hot Springs are a must visit. The drive up to the property is a bit bumpy (suggest a 4 wheel drive), but it was well worth it. We are fairly independent travellers, so we did not need to call on Alberto for help. But we are sure he would be able to assist with any requests. We would definately recommend this retreat.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: It is always good to hear from others about how much they appreciate the abundant natural beauty of our property. Spending quiet personal, family or small group time with family and friends is priceless. With so much to do and see in the local Arenal area, sometimes it is nice to just enjoy what is immediately around you on this almost 66 acres of tropical paradise.
