This was just the perfect house for our girls weekend retreat. The floorplan is very well planned. It sleeps 12 comfortably....or just a small group. I could really see how 2 couples with their kids could easily have their own space in the house. The upstairs has a stocked chicken, great relaxing den with fireplace, full bath in hallway, bedroom with twin beds and a master suite. The beds were amazing. Downstairs is a great game room/TV room, full bath and large bedrooms with queen beds. We went in late April, but it was still chilly enough to light a fire. What a great cabin with easy neighborhood walking. No crazy, curvy roads that will turn your knuckles white! This house is located in a great neighborhood with amazing scenery. Centrally located between Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and Boone. It was convenient to everywhere. Perfect location! I would love to go back during the summer. There were easy access to trout fishing that children would love. The owners provided a great binder with details about the house and suggestions for restaurants and nearby attractions. The owner was very pleasant and easy to deal with. HOUSE WAS VERY CLEAN! I am usually very worried about the cleanliness of a house, but this one was immaculate. Strongly suggest.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I recently rented this home for a nice family getaway and was extremely pleased. My husband, two children and I thoroughly enjoyed the charming home and the location of the home. We were just a few short miles to many attractions, restaurants and stores. The subdivision itself boasts walking trails, geese filled ponds and plenty of running space for children. We were lucky enough to see goslings that had just hatched. The attractions that were nearby for us to enjoy were fishing, Grandfather Mountain, hiking/walking, and Linville Caverns. One of our favorite restaurants was a little breakfast diner with a view of Grandfather Mountain (Grandview Restaurant) with very yummy blueberry pancakes. We will be returning to this home again in the near future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I spent the most wonderful week in your mountain house! The weather was beautiful, the surroundings were pristine and we will always have beautiful memories. The house had four bedrooms, way more than we needed, but next time we will bring all four grandchildren. It will work out great because then the children can have the downstairs while the adults gather upstairs. We plan to give our grandchildren the gift of the North Carolina mountains. Most Floridians love North Carolina and we are no exception. Your house is truly a place where we can make memories--I can see the grandkids playing in the pool, in the stream and on the trails. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We absolutely LOVED this home! It is decorated lovely, family friendly, has spacious bedrooms and boasted plenty of comfortable seating for relaxing. The kitchen was pleasant and stocked well. We were extremely impressed with wrap around deck and outside dining area Additionally, the game room was an added bonus that entertained the adults as well as the children. The house is situated in an ideal location within miles of many outdoor attractions and shopping. The ski resorts are roughly 5 miles away, hiking trails are as close as the resort property, and Grandfather Mountain is just down the road. It is located in walking distance from the playground, pool and clubhouse. The neighborhood is conveniently located to grocery stores, restaurants and local attractions (all a 10-15 minute ride). The owners were amazing; reserving the home was incredibly easy and they provided a lot of useful information prior to our arrival. I will be a returning renter and will be recommending this home to family and friendsRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We love hearing how much our guests enjoy the property. We not only rent it but we also spend our vacations there. We strive to make guests feel at home. We just added a Simmons Beauty Rest king size pillow top mattress and a 42" plasma to the master bedroom. We also added high speed wifi so that you can watch netflix, check email or work from the mountains.

About the owner: We love spending time in the mountains with our children and their grandparents. We hope that you will enjoy the home and surrounding area as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Banner Elk:
We love the outdoors and just a short drive away you'll find all the major ski slopes including Sugar Mountain, Hawks Nest and Appalachian. Additionally, you'll find Grandfather Mountain and the towns of Blowing Rock and Boone only minutes away. biking, trout fishing, tubing and white water rafting in the spring and summer months. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth while the leaves are changing in late October. We suggest a day trip to the Biltmore Estate especially in the Spring for the flower gardens and the Christmas decorations in December.
