DON'T MISS THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN LEAVENWORTH. WE HAVE TWO WEEKENDS IN DEC THAT ARE OPEN FOR THIS WONDERFUL EVENT! The cabin is two stories and has 3 bedrooms-one double bed downstairs, one king bed upstairs and one with two twin beds. There is a sitting area upstairs between the two bedrooms. The main floor is an open floor plan with the living room area, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of dishes, flatware, cookware and small appliances. The bathroom is located downstairs. A washer and dryer are also on the main floor. The cabin has a very peaceful and comfortable feeling. The property is 156 feet of lakefront located on a 3/4 acre parcel which affords a feeling of privacy. Lake Wenatchee is just a few steps from the deck. The views of Dirty Face Mountain and up and down the lake are amazing. The sunsets over the mountains quite often rival those seen in Hawaii. There is a cove where a boat or other watercraft can be safely tied up.
The Fall colors in late Sept and Oct can be observed up and down the lake from the large deck. The short drive into Leavenworth and Plain will give you a real show of red, orange and yellow of the turning leaves. The Christmas Lighting Festival in Leavenworth is always a popular event, so book early for December in order to be sure you are able to attend one of these weekends, and then return home to the quiet and calm of the lake where you can relax by the fire (indoor or outdoor) after a day of festivities.
Cozy bathroom with shower, sink, toilet. Plenty of shelf room as well as a medicine cabinet....moreless
The town of Leavenworth is a 25 minute drive from the cabin. Check the town website calendar for the upcoming festivals and events, such as Oktoberfest and the Christmas Lighting Festival in Dec. Don't miss the Fall colors in Oct, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Eve on the lake. After spending a day in town, it's always good to get back to the peacefulness of the lake cabin. There are plenty of places to go wine tasting nearby in Plain, Leavenworth and Wenatchee. Golf is available in Leavenworth and the Wenatchee area as well as 5 minutes down the road at Kahler Glen. The summer months are fantastic for boating, jet skiing, hiking, fishing, tubing, windsurfing, kite surfing, etc. all right at the lake or close by. About the owner: Bruce and Karen Nyberg: Bruce grew up in New Hampshire and always dreamed of owning a lake cabin. Karen grew up in Walla Walla, WA and dreamed of moving to CA. We both ended up in the San Francisco Bay Area. We were married in 1972 and have lived in our home in Felton in the redwoods on a creek for over 40 years. Bruce has been a general contractor for 41 years and Karen runs the office. Our two daughters and their families love going to the cabin for our family get together every summer. The two of us go up in the Spring to do any necessary repairs and maintenance and then again in the Fall, which is beautiful at the lake
Why the Owner Chose Lake Wenatchee: Karen's brother and sister-in-law bought a cabin on Lake Wenatchee 30 years ago and we spent time there with them and loved it. They have since re-built the cabin into their permanent home. When the cabin nearby them became available to purchase, it was without hesitation that we contacted the owner and made a deal. Bruce's dream came true! It is a long way from home to get there, but the trip is well worth it and we go as often as we can, which isn't often enough for us. Every summer we have a family gathering that includes boating, skiing, fishing, tubing, and just floating around the lake on the inflatables.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: One of the best things about this cabin is the location. From inside the cabin all you can see past the deck railing is the lake and the mountains. The lake is literally a few steps from the deck stairs. The large windows in the living room allow an incredible view even in rainy weather, which is one of our favorite times to be there, with the fire going and curled up on the recliner with a good book. Summer is always fun on the lake, so book early for next year, especially August when sockeye season opens. Fall is a great time for a quiet retreat and the weather is still warm. Book early for Oktoberfest! These weekends are very popular and always get booked in advance. The cabin being only a 20 minute drive from Leavenworth is a calm respite after the festivities of the day. Sometimes towards the end of October Dirty Face gets the first dusting of snow. The lake otters, ducks, loons, osprey and eagles are always a special treat to watch. The Christmas Lighting Festival in Leavenworth during December is lovely and of course, coming back to the peace and serenity of the cabin and a cup of hot chocolate to further celebrate the coming holiday.
