SouthShore Villas condo description
South Shore Villas is one of the newest condominium complex on the grandstrand. It is a state of the art building with glass elevators and a parking deck located on the first four floors to add convenience to getting to the condominium. There are only 63 units in the complex so no worries of over crowded pools or beach.
The four bedroom, three bath, smoke-free penthouse condominium has 2000+ square feet and a 225 square foot balcony. The condominium has every upgrade imaginable, granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms, tile floors in the foyer, kitchen, dining room and bathrooms and carpet in the living room and bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and entry onto the balcony. The master bathroom has jacuzzi tub, separate shower, and a double vanity for added convenience. The second bedroom has a king bed, the third has a 2 queen beds and fourth bedroom has two double beds. All the bedrooms have cable TV .
The kitchen is equipped with microwave, dishwasher, oven with radiant cook tops, solid wood cabinets and granite counter tops. The kitchen has a breakfast bar with bar stools and a pantry for extra storage. The extra large washer and dryer are located across from the kitchen.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool, kiddie pool, whirlpool spa, Lazy River and exercise/fitness room.

Great Family Vacation
Great Family Vacation
We stayed at this property for a week in September 2010. There were 9 of us - 5 adults and 4 teenagers. We had plenty of room. The beds were so comfortable and linens wonderful. The pools at the property were in great shape and everyone enjoyed them. Great location and close to many stores and restaurants. The owner of this property was very courteous and great about working with us and communicating. We loved it so much, have already made reservations again for next year!! Would highly recommend this condo - very spacious, clean and well stocked.

Stayed in condo 504 from 7/31 to 8/7. As this was our first trip to Myrtle Beach didn't know what to expect but had an awesome time. The Villas is a very well-maintained property. Great location. Superb ocean views. The pool, spa and lazy river were excellently maintained and clean. The pool area and beach were never crowded. Our condo was 4 BR and 4 BA. Everyone loved their beds. Very comfortable. Everyone had a great night sleep. Showers were awesome. Great pressure, almost like a massage. Sometimes all four showers were in use and the same time and we never lost pressure and the water was always hot. Here are a few things I think the owner needs to be aware of to maintain their property and keep people coming back. I feel it should be deep cleaned at least once a month. After the first day our feet were black from the tile floor. We had to wear socks or flip-flops the rest of the time. I know housekeeping would sweep and mop but I think it really needs scrubbed. Also, the air conditiong vents were very dirty and the chandelier over the kitchen table had layers of dust on it. The sliding glass door from the living room was very hard to open and close. We bought WD-40 and sprayed the tracks. That helped a little. I'm sure all the ocean salt in the air doesn't help. The sliding glass door from the master bedroom worked great except the handle was broken from the balcony side so you couldn't open or shut if from there. The ice dispenser in the fridge worked great but the water dispenser leaked. We had to put a towel on the floor. The owners might want to have that checked before you have a serious leak and need to replace the tile. The inside needs a good cleaning too. I know it's hard to take care of all that with the condo being constantly used in the summer but I think that needs to be done monthly to assure repeat customers. All-in-all we had an awesome time and would definitely rent this condo again. The owner was great to deal with and promptly answered all my questions.

Greatly Disappointed in Condition and Description of Penthouse Condo
Let me start by saying I have never given a bad review of a condo we have stayed at for over the past 10 years when we have gone on vacation, but felt we must write something regarding this condo. We stayed at the penthouse unit and were greatly disappointed. The pictures show stainless steel kitchen appliances; this did not exist. Also the living room furniture was old, dirty and some pieces torn. We contacted the owner representative and were told the living room furniture is to be replaced, but that did not help us out during our stay. You think PENTHOUSE and are sure it will be wonderful, however we found out this was a fair unit at the most. We bought white sheets to put over top of the living room furniture to cover the odor and dirt. Also it states in the description that this condo is professionally decorated and that most items are new in the unit, which cannot possibly be the case. There are minimal decorations to say the least and they look old and by no means are professionally done. The kitchen sink had a large crack in one side, they were small holes and indentions in the hallway and kitchen walls, paint peeling around a airflow vent, mold in the airflow vent in the hall bathroom, the kitchen table is old and had large scratches and marks all over it, the one bar stool was broken at the bottom of the rim, the small lamp in the living room had been cracked. We took pictures of everything to verify what we found. The owner representative was cordial and did call us back the first time, but never offered any discount or solutions to fix any of these issues. After my contact with the owner representative, my husband then sent an email to the owner representitive asking for a call back, but we never heard back. All of the beds are sub par, so we went out and purchased pads for some of the beds so they could be more comfortable. We ended up spending over $125 on sheets and pads for the beds. There was rust running down the front of the white refrigerator near the ice maker, and the unit needs painted. We had relatives that stayed in another unit on the 9th floor in the building and it was beautiful! Great beds and beautiful decorations and very updated. Our penthouse unit had all older televisions and older appliances . Hopefully the owner will fix some items in the future because the view is great and the one nice thing about this unit. Also the description on the VRBO web page should be more accurate.

Owner response: We have updated the pictures of the condo. We have installed new carpet in the condo and new furniture, the picture of the living room is the new updated picture showing the new sofas and furniture. We have a picture of the kitchen of 504 with stainless steel appliances and a picture of the penthouse with white appliances. We have not had a chance to re paint because of the bookings, but we will be repainting the whole condo in the fall of 2010.
