The address for "Time to Unwynd" is 801 South Bald Head Wynd or 801 Killegray. This is a wonderful oceanfront home on tranquil Bald Head Island, North Carolina in the award winning Killegray/Flora's Bluff community. You have direct beach access down a charming boardwalk. Sit on the front porch in your rocking chair and watch the dolphins swim by or sit on the upper deck off the master bedroom and have a direct view of frying pan shoals also known as Cape Fear.
Our home has one bedroom on the first floor with a private screen porch, separate bathroom, and two twin beds. The master is upstairs with a king-size bed, separate bathroom, and private porch. Third bedroom upstairs has two twin beds and private bath. The fourth bedroom is in a separate guest house, called a "crofter" just out the back door of the main house. The crofter has a king bed and full bath. There are also two aero bed mattresses that can be used for additional sleeping. Availability to both private clubs on the island, the Bald Head Island Club which provides golf privileges and the Shoals Club oceanfront beach club.
In the garage you will find two golf carts, one six passenger and one four passenger. Both installed with seatbelts for your safety and the safety of your children. You MUST be a licensed driver to operate a golf cart on Bald Head Island.
Also in the garage you will find four bikes, a large bucket full of sand and beach toys and beach chairs for your use. North Carolina law requires children under the age of 16 to wear a bicycle helmet. We try to keep a couple available in the garage for your use. However, feel free to bring your own.
All linens and towels are provided. High speed wireless internet access, unlimited long distance, and more are just some of the features of this home-away-from-home.
If you have never visited Bald Head before, there is a nice well stocked grocery store on the island. The grocery also carries a selection of wine and beer. Liquor is state controlled in North Carolina and sold at ABC stores. There is not an ABC store on Bald Head Island.
If you are flying to the area and need transportation from the airport to the ferry, Southern Hospitality shuttle service is available. Their number is 910-457-4949.

Why the Owner Chose Bald Head Island
We bought our first house in 1999 in the Killegray neighborhood. We had purchased a lot on the island to build, but love the Killegray area so much we really didn't want to leave. However, we wanted a little more space and more bathrooms as our children became teens. About five years ago 801 Killegray became available. We decided to buy it instead of build on our lot. We named it "Time to Unwynd" and the rest is history!
The Unique Benefits at this House
I love the panoramic views from inside the living room! I have a great view everywhere I look. I love that I can see all the way to Cape Fear from my front porch.

We had a wonderful stay at Time to Unwynd, and I would strongly recommend giving it a shot if you plan to visit Bald Head Island. It's in a great location.. Very cute inside with a well-equipped kitchen and VERY comfortable. Lots of privacy, as well as the use of their bikes and golf carts. We would definitely stay there again!! Had ages of 11 years old to 65 years young. Would love to come back. Thinking of you alot this weekend with "Hurricane Irene", hope all is well.

Owner aggressive, home not well maintained, workers in the house 2 full days out of the 7 days we were there.
Owner response:These renters were extremely disresptful. First of all, they brought a dog, black lab, without permission. Their rental contract clearly stated in two places that dogs were not allowed. There was black fur all over the house. On the day of their check-out they had no plans to vacate the home at the 10am departure time when my housekeeper arrived to clean the home. According to my housekeeper they were extremely rude to her and they had not even begun to pack. My housekeeper has been working on the island for years and said she has never experienced people this rude before. We had another family arriving that same day and she needed to get in to clean, especially with the excessive dog hair. Regarding the "2 full days" of workers in the house, my handyman went to change a couple of light bulbs that the renters requested be changed during their stay. He had to come back the next day to replace the light switch in the dining room as the dimmer switch had failed. This did not take him two full days. This has been the strangest experience with a renter I have had in the six years in renting my home. I have many return renters and have always gotten outstanding reviews. I love to share my home, as most guests are really appreciative. This experience, however, has me greatly considering just keeping my home for personal use.

"Time to Unwynd" was the site of a Girl's Weekend as a surprise 60th birthday celebration. The house is just specatular, well equipped, beautifully decorated with a serene and relaxing feel and gorgeous views. While the weekend was cold and snow fell on Saturday, the stay could not have been more perfect and everyone agreed that the wonderful home with its huge seating areas and amazing location made it magical. The owner is a delight and the decor reflects her warm and joyous personality. We will definitely return! Highly, highly recommend this rental!!!!!

We loved the house! We loved the view! We loved that the house was everything the owner said it would be. And it was our first trip to Bald Head, which we also loved. What a great vacation! We are looking at our calendars so we can secure dates for next year before this house is booked solid.

We could not have loved Bald Head Island more! It was the perfect place for our family with children ages 18 months to 9 years old. It is an incredibly well planned island from top to bottom. It is so peaceful and low key, yet there is enough to do for everyone. "Time to Unwynd" is a wonderful home - very spacious, fabulous location, beautifully appointed, comfortable and so well taken care of. Our family (from Pennsylvania and California) cannot wait to return!

My husband and I spent four nights at Time to UnWynd in late June. The house and its location to the beach more than met our expectations! The house is bright, roomy and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped. During our short visit we spent time at the beach, the pool at the Shoal's Club and kayaking in the tidal creek. The island is beautiful and we had a fun time getting around the island in the golf cart which come with the house. One of our favorite spots to have coffee in the morning and happy hour in the evening was on the front porch looking out at the ocean. Very relaxing! A wonderful beach front property.
