A short, private drive from the entrance to the Amelia Landings Resort leads you to our building, and there is ample parking. Our condo is on the second floor of a three-story building. (There are no elevators in the building so unfortunately it is not handicap accessible.)

Why the Owner Chose Fernandina Beach

Since we have daughters and grand kids living in Orlando and the Charleston areas, we wanted a place roughly half way between the two locations. Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island is just perfect for us! We get down there when we can (2-3 times a year) and rent it out the remainder of the year.

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium/Villa

We enjoy the beach, of course, but just as important to us is the great little town of Fernandina Beach. We never run out of new things to explore, learn about. This historic city and island has many surprises! We love having a drink on the dock and watching the sun set over the Amelia River. Walking and biking on the Island is always a pleasure. Each time we go we make new acquaintances and friends.

With our busy lives as administrators, teachers, counselors, we head to our "Island Home" to relax; the screened balcony on our condo overlooking the woods is where you may often find us!

Owner's Map of Fernandina Beach

We live in Marshalltown, Iowa, and we both work for Iowa Valley Community College District. Linda is a Library Supervisor, and Bob is the Project Director for Distance Learning for the District. We both also teach psychology classes, and Bob is a PT marriage counselor.

Linda has two adult sons, one in Mason City, IA, and one in St. Paul, MN. Bob has three adult daughters, two in Orlando, FL, and one on Daniel Island, SC. We have four wonderful grandsons and a super-duper step-granddaughter.

When we are not traveling to see kids, we spend a lot of time on house renovation (which is also why we are working beyond the "normal" retirement age!).

    • Bob and Linda, Thanks again for allowing us to come to the condo. It was our third trip. We love Amelia Island like you all do. The weather was beautiful (06/14-06/21)! We visited Barbara Jean's twice...the food is wonderful. Found the new chocolate shop by Publix, awesome chocolate and nice people! Beach was great and most days we had the pool to ourselves. Thanks again, we hope to come back next year! Andrea Frenzl and Family

      Homeowner Response:
Andrea, We were so happy to have you and your family return to our condo for the third year! Thank you so much for your continued business with us. Barbara Jean's was one of our earliest eating places when we "discovered" Amelia Island. We loved it too. Glad you found the chocolate store by Publix. What a great compliment to the ice cream and candy store downtown! See you next year! Bob and Linda

    • We enjoyed our stay at your condo in mid-may '08. It was exactly what your ad says, comfortable and homey. We used our time to thoroughly explore the island and can only say, we'll be back. The computer hook-up was flawless and fast. Thanks for everything.

      Homeowner Response:
Paul, Thanks so much for your nice comments. We do hope your wife is feeling better. Please come visit us again when your travels take you to Amelia Island. Bob and Linda

    • The apartment was a nice homely place to come back to. Everything was there for a trouble free holiday. The location was excellent. A short walk to the wonderful beach and shops. We did not venture into the pool as it was November and a little chilly. We loved the peaceful location and watching the birds and wildlife from the balcony.

      Homeowner Response:
Jane & Adrian, Thank you for choosing our condo for your visit to America and Amelia Island. It was a pleasure having you as our guest for your 2-week stay. We do hope you consider us again if your travel takes you our way; tell your countrymen--we love having visitors from other countries! Bob and Linda

    • Thanks for sharing your condo with us. We enjoyed the roominess (three ladies did not have to worry about stepping over each other)and amenities. It was a great walk to the beach, much cooler and closer than walking down Sadler. We would visit my aunt and family during the day/evening and had a nice place to "go home to" at night. Thanks again!

      Homeowner Response:
Brenda, It was great having the three of you staying in our condo. Thanks for your nice commnents. We hope to see you again next year! Bob and Linda

    • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at RobLin Landings - the condo was very comfortable and had everything that we could possibly need. We loved all the little touches that made the condo seem like home - and made us feel like welcomed guests. We were especially grateful to have access to such a wonderful pool; the water was a perfect temperature and we had the pool to ourselves most days. Getting into Jax was a breeze. We enjoyed taking the "leisurely route" (A1A) into town. Thanks so much! We'll be back!

      Homeowner Response:
Lyndele and Graham, We are so pleased that you had a great time in our condo. We do appreciate that you like our "homey touches." There is a fine line between comfortable hominess and overdoing it, so we are glad you approve. The pool is nice, we agree. We are often so busy when we get to use the condo that we can't really appreciate how nice it is. We like the A1A route also; one does have to allow for more time, though. It certainly much longer that way than down the Interstate to Amelia Island. (PS: These folks must like our place--they are asking about another week's stay this November!!) Bob and Linda

    • We stayed on Amelia Island July 9-16, 2007. The weather was great and it was a very peaceful and relaxing vacation....just what we needed. We went to bed when we wanted to, slept late, read, swam, walked, shelled, really enjoyed the uncrowded beaches and there was minimal traffic to contend with in getting around the island. The condo was just right for the four of us (2 adults, 1 son, 1 daughter). It was clean and had all of the amenities we needed to make our trip to Florida all that it needed to be. I highly recommend it.

      Homeowner Response:
Keith, Thanks for choosing our condo for your vacation and for your kind comments. Linda and I enjoy doing a lot of what you suggested--just relaxing and enjoying one of the best kept secrets in Florida--Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach. Please come back! Bob and Linda

    • We recently stayed at this wonderfully located apartment. We found shopping easy and grocery stores and resturants near by and the walk to the beach is a breeze. We stayed over the 4th of July and it was awesome. We could shoot off our own, along with hundreds of others celebrating and you had a panorama view of the harbor, main beach and the point of Amelia from N. fletcher. It was beautiful and fun. We had lived here years ago and it is fun for us to return and see how the island has changed and grown. We ate at lots of great places: Lulu's, Arte pizza, sliders, DQ and the surf, and Brett's water way cafe, just to name a few. The shops are always fun and people are so welcoming. This location is really one of the very best on the island and even though the apartment wasn't huge we never felt too close with all the t.v's and nice screen deck we had lots of space. We really loved the fantastic washer and dryer- our clothes would come out nearly dry before going into the dryer and I could do 2 full loads while I made dinner! WE would come back again and we found about 300 sharks teeth and our daughter rode a horse on the beach with Debbie Mazer from ride the beaches of Amelia- she is the best for any level rider. This is a wonderful rental and very reasonable too.

      Homeowner Response:
Hi Jack and Mandy, What a very complete and thoughtful Guestbook entry! We are delighted you enjoyed yourself. Thanks for all those great tips on places to eat and play. We will have to get in touch with Debbie Mazer to let her know how much you enjoyed the horseback riding at her place. Your shark's teeth success is fantastic! We have been told by others that one of the best spots in Florida is on Fernandina Beach--your success suggests that is right! We hope you see you again next year. Bob and Linda

    • Bob and Linda: Your condo is wonderful! I like the location, shady and the walk to the beach is easy. Ate at Sliders. Lovely pool!! We were the only ones there several times. Will likely come back.

      Homeowner Response:
Mike and Family, We are really pleased that you liked our little oasis! We love that walk also, and we certainly agree that Sliders is a real treat. I suppose the beach is the main draw, but we have been surprised also that the great pool is sometimes not very occupied. Very peaceful place to relax, read, swim, sun. Please come back if you can.

    • Thank you so much Bob and Linda. What a great time we had. Stayed in your condo with friends from Miami, Fl. So relaxing and there was nothing we can say negative. Loved sitting on the balcony each morning with my coffee. We toured around the island a good deal but the best was just relaxing at the beach and then the pool. I am sure we will go back again and hope we will be lucky enough to stay at your place again. Thank you..

      Homeowner Response:
Susan & Rick--Thank you for choosing our condo on Amelia Island and for your very nice comments. We are glad you were able to both enjoy traveling around the island and find time to just relax. We look forward to having you as guests again. Bob and Linda

    • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Out stay in your condo was wonderful. We felt so at home. It had everything we needed. The washer and dryer were such a blessing! Especially for drying wet suits and towels. We loved the convenience of walking to restaurants, the grocery store, and the beach yet at the condo, you would never know everything was so close. We visited St. Augustine which was lovely and Fort Clinch State Park. We didn't want to leave. It had so much to do. We toured the Historic District and fell in love with Amelia Island. We will be back. We may not have to go anywhere else, ever!

      Homeowner Response:
What a pleasure it was to have Mike and Linda as guests in our condo for a week's stay this month! They really enjoyed themselves, and we so much appreciate the kind comments. They told us in another correspondence how much they enjoyed our screened balcony. We agree--it is the first place we head when we arrive at the condo ourselves. We want you back, guys--just let us know when you want to return! Bob and Linda
