I rented this house in late August 2010 through the first week in October 2010. It was truly wonderful. My 12 year old broke his wrist in August and the docs here wanted $7000 to fix it. That was on top of the $2950 we'd already paid. I researched orthopedic doctors in Mexico for about a week, then I went searching for someplace to stay. When I read the information about this house I was a bit skeptical but I phoned the owner and was put instantly at ease. She was kind and personable. The house was in a quiet neighborhood and had a beautiful garden. I spent many hours sitting on the lake facing patio reading or just being quiet. The house was very well equipped and contained everything I needed to prepare meals, internet and cable TV. To be honest, I was a bit ill at ease (privacy issues) at first about a maid who comes in to clean three times a week but she was a very pleasant lady who spoiled my son and made my time there even more enjoyable. I liked this house because it was everything I look for in a home away from home. It had that amazing garden with butterflies and brilliantly hued humming birds. The house had a spacious interior with lots of room for friends and family. A simple yet warm and comfortable decor but most importantly I felt welcome there.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We rented this home for 2 months and had a very positive experience. The house is extremely spacious, we entertained a number of visitors during our stay and never felt cramped or crowded. The lovely gardens and patios allow for lots of outdoor living space, so we were able to take full advantage of the wonderful climate. We spent many hours on the upper covered terrace amongst the tree tops, enjoying the lush flowers, hummingbirds, butterflies and breezes - and yes, even the squauking parrots! The kitchen is larger than it appears in the photos, and completely equipped for home cooking, with plenty of dishes, glasses, cutlery, etc. for entertaining. The master bedroom is huge with lovely mountain views on one side and a lakeview on the other. Noteworthy are the incredibly comfortable beds throughout - if you have spent much time in Mexico, you know this is not always the case. The home has alot of character, and welcoming "old world" charm with comfortable furnishings and attractive decor - it quickly takes on a "home away from home" feeling. The location is great, some decent restaurants within an easy walk, about a 15-20 minute stroll to the plaza (5 minute drive) and close to bus stops and little local convenience stores. We really enjoyed living in a quiet and established residential neighbourhood, rather than some of the newer gated "gringoland" communities and much appreciated the sense of privacy that came from being tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac. We had a wonderful stay!
