The two individual and very private chalet-style "lodge" homes on this 4 acre wine country property can be rented together as an inclusive 5 total bedroom estate, or individually to accommodate smaller groups or couples. The main house is 3 BR, 3 BA and the Guest Home is 2 BR, 1 BA. Casual comfort, modern conveniences, and beautiful wine country decor & romance surround you from the moment you enter. There is complete privacy from both homes, separated by a 300 foot curving driveway. Take a 2 mile walk or bike ride to the end of Shadow Canyon Road and you are in another world, under a canopy of oak and evergreen trees.

At 1,300 ft elevation and within 10 miles of the ocean, this property enjoys an off shore micro-climate for a more comfortable year round temperature than "in town" locations. Yet the amenities of Paso Robles and Templeton are just a 10 minute drive through scenic wine country.

The 2,200 sf main home includes a huge leisure room. Two of the bedrooms are on the upper level along with a full kitchen of stainless appliances, and 2 full baths. The 3rd bedroom suite on the lower level has a separate entry, its own kitchen & living room area, as well as it's own patio/deck area and a full bath. The two car garage is attached (no inside entry) and there is an additional 1/2 bath downstairs in a gardeners shed. This home sleeps 6 in beds + 2 in a sleeper sofa. Views from the home and grounds are simply stunning. The main home may occassionally be available as a 2BR/2BA without the downstairs third bedroom suite (inquire).

The main home includes a 34' X 8' "double-wide" lap pool which is 4' deep, and a full size spa. The spa is heated 24/7/365 & set to 102d. Also located in this area is the lighted observation tower taking in the views.

The Guest Home is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath treasure in 900 sf. It also has a partially covered 400 sf deck taking in gorgeous views of the mountains, oaks, seasonal pond, and wildlife. A Vermont Castings stove warms the entire living space during the cooler nights of winter and there is also a wall heater and a window mounted air conditioner. A fully equipped Kitchen with new Corian counters is adjacent to the living room. This home sleeps 4 in two beds: a queen and a day bed/trundle (2 twins). This home is especially perfect for more budget minded couples or small families who want the full wine country experience in a romantic, private, yet casual setting.

Both homes have flat screen TVs, Satelite Dish Network, and movie channels. The main home features a 40" flat paned TV/DVD and there are 2 additional TVs throughout. The guest house has a single flat panel TV in the living room.. High-Speed Internet Access is available in the main home through "Wild Blue" Satelite service at no extra cost. There is a PC workstation (main home) with 250 Gig RAM, 1 Gig HD, 64X2 chip, and a printer/scanner/copier. Also free is local and long distance calling (moderate levels, please). Both homes also have inside Laundry, and Stereo/CD players.

Over 30 wineries are within a 10-15 minute drive starting with historic York Mountain Winery a mile away. The Paso/Templeton area is home to over 120 wineries. Head 35 miles south and you'll also find a dozen Edna Valley wineries. The charming beach towns of Cambria, Cayucos, and Morro Bay are a 20 minute drive. San Simeon/Hearst Castle and the awesome Big Sur begins just 30 minutes away.

Why the Owner Chose Paso Robles

The lure of a burgeoning wine country in Paso Robles and Templeton have been present in my mind from many wine tasting excursions there over the past twenty years. In 2006, I finally realized a dream to own my own property there and turn it into a memorable wine country experience for others to enjoy.

Proximity to wineries and the coast. Less than thirty minutes to the beach towns of Cayucos, Morro Bay and Cambria. 30 minutes to Big Sur, Heast Castle, Ragged Point. Unlimited opportunities for hiking and nature walks or bikerides.

    • This is a GREAT place! As soon as you turn off Highway 101, you're surrounded by lovely vineyards. The main house is beautifully decorated and full of comfy couches and you'll never want to leave the deck. My friends and I had two little kids (1 year olds) and they were very safe here and had lots of fun. The pool area is fenced off so that was no problem and the hot tub was a treat. We also rented the small house but if you were renting it separately from the main house you would very much feel like you had your privacy. The grounds are serene and stargazing is incredible. ENJOY!! We did!
