From 46 West, a short drive under the canopy of ancient oak and evergreen trees that line York Mountain Road brings you to Shadow Canyon Hide-Away. This cozy, comfortably furnished two-bedroom, one-bath cottage is embraced by ancient oak, evergreen and eucalyptus trees for privacy and is well-suited for a romantic get-away. Pine floors and paneling throughout, along with a wood-burning stove, create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.

Why the Owner Chose Paso Robles
Of all the properties we saw, Shadow Canyon was the most appealing. We really like the private, peaceful four acre lot and the views of the canyon with its ancient oak and pine trees. The West side location has a very comfortable microclimate—mild in the winter and cool and comfortable in the summer. Shadow Canyon is about halfway between Paso Robles and the coast, which makes it easy for us to enjoy wining and dining in Paso Robles or taking in the magnificent bike riding and sights of the central California coastline. Since retirement is still a few years away, we decided to offer Shadow Canyon as a vacation rental.
The Unique Benefits at this Estate
Our favorite things are spending time on the outdoor deck areas while enjoying some wine and BBQinq; taking walks up Shadow Canyon, visiting Epoch Wines at York Mountain Road, and bike rides from the property to either to the coast or inland. In addition, there is easy access to our favorite wineries on Vineyard Drive.

We came to Paso Robles in 2005 for a century bike ride and immediately fell in love with the area. We found ourselves visiting the area whenever we could, and decided to look for a property where we will ultimately retire.

We enjoyed a ladies weekend at the cottage. The privacy is absolutely fantastic. The house is well stocked with everything we needed and in a great location - not too far away from anything. Not to mention minutes away from York Mountain Winery. We will be planning another trip soon. Can't wait to return to this lovely cottage!

We are from L.A. and met up with our friends from the Bay Area at this lovely cottage - the perfect place to meet in the middle. We found the cottage to be very comfortable and cozy. The beds were comfortable - even the trundle bed! The living area is warm and inviting, with a deliciously deep sofa that enfolds you in its plushness. The kitchen is well stocked with all that you need to prepare a nice meal. The highlight for us was the balcony. It is a fantastic place to sit, with nothing but the sound of the breeze and birds, and views of the surrounding natural environment. We had breakfast and dinner outside each day, and felt like we were the only people for miles around. We were surprised to find out the the upper "Manor" was occupied. The cottage can be rented without concern for whether the other, larger home is in use. As it turns out, we did get a chance to visit the Manor house, and were extremely impressed. We are already planning to book it when we come back with a larger group.

Our family, from NorCal and SoCal met here for a weekend of family times and a baseball tourney. The house could not have been a better pick for us! The two chefs in the family were quite comfortable with the kitchen set up and there was plenty of room for the grandkids to have their own space and allow the grownups their own tv. We enjoyed walks, watching wildlife and the stars and the swing! This was a perfect set-up for us and we're hoping daughter #3 will join us next year and we'll rent both houses! We enjoyed the local wineries, picked pumpkins at Jack Creek and celebrated our team winning the tourney!! We will definitely return with friends for a couples' retreat. we stayed in this 2 house complex on a beautiful hillside in the central coast wine country. There were 10 of us and the unique layout of the property offered us plenty of indoor and outdoor space to gather while still allowing private space. The pool and hot tub are great. Everything is clean and well managed. We are looking forward to a possible return to the property next year. A definite find.

The main house is beautifully decorated and full of comfy couches and you'll never want to leave the deck. My friends and I had two little kids (1 year olds) and they were very safe here and had lots of fun. The pool area is fenced off so that was no problem and the hot tub was a treat. We also rented the small house but if you were renting it separately from the main house you would very much feel like you had your privacy. The grounds are serene and stargazing is incredible. ENJOY!! We did!
