Situated on the shores of the Weaskeag, a beautiful salt waterway, Homeport is nestled in the woods offering peace and quiet and privacy. The house is situated on over 2 acres and 350 feet of water front - watch wildlife from the screen porch (a surprising rarity in Maine), launch kayaks in the front yard or walk to town for lunch.
Homeport is ideally located - minutes to Owls Head and Rockland and just several miles away from the must-see villages of Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde.
Rockport and Camden are 20 minutes by car. You are within 5 minutes of the area's most coveted beaches - Crockett’s Beach, Crescent Beach, Lucia Beach and Waterman's Beach.
Bike ride, walk, explore and then come home and settle in for the night by the floor to ceiling granite fireplace in the living room. It's the kind of house you are thrilled with the minute you walk and the kind of house that makes you feel a home.
The first floor of Homeport is open concept with high ceilings and an eye towards beautiful functionality. The main entrance opens onto a classic Maine mudroom – this is perfect for leaving sandy shoes and towels after a day on the beach. The gourmet kitchen is truly stunning with high end appliances and granite countertops. The large center island is the place to gather in the morning for breakfast or in the evening while meals are being prepared.The kitchen opens onto the dining area which is situated in a windowed alcove with views of the water. The table can easily seat 8 plus people. The crown jewel of the house the three season porch – this amazingly beautiful room overlooks the waterfront and truly brings the forest and the water inside. Floor to ceiling screens (windows in the colder months) make this room ideal at any time of the day. Coffee in the morning or dinner in the evening as the sun sets – no need to worry about mosquitoes!
There is dining table on the porch as well as an ample lounge area. The screen porch overlooks a slate patio as well – find the gas grill and outdoor furniture here. Inside the screen porch there is a small area with a table and 2 chairs – perfect for putting together puzzles, playing board games or sorting through the treasures found on the beach. The living room is open and large, centered around a massive granite fireplace. There is a sectional couch and other seating. The living room offers a large, flat screen television and satellite reception. There is a also a high-quality sound system. The house is equipped with HughesNet, satellite-based WiFi. Upstairs, find three bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The master suite is large with a queen bed, a study alcove and a private bathroom. The bathroom has claw foot tub and a shower. The other two bedrooms share a full bathroom in the hall – the second master has a queen bed and overlooks the water.
The third bedroom is quite large as well with a twin bed and a double bed. There is plenty of room for an air mattress if it is needed.
The fourth bedroom is on the first floor with a full bathroom. This room is large with a double pull out couch – this is actually a comfortable pull out with a foam topper to ensure comfort. This room also is large enough to accommodate an air mattress, a pack and play, etc.
Homeport offers a 2 car garage and a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The master is a private suite with a full bathroom - this tub is extra deep! The second bedroom has a queen and the third has a queen and a twin - lots of room. The fourth bedroom is on the first floor - a true bedroom with a closet and lots of privacy this bedroom has a full bathroom right outside the door. Rates listed are for up to 7 people - additional guests $100 per person, per week. A Processing Fee at 6% of the Rental Amount is required. In lieu of a traditional security deposit, the processing fee also includes damage protection equal to 20% of the base rental rate.
All fees are non-refundable. A deposit of ½ of the rental amount is due upon reservation.

South Thomaston is a scenic peninsula community south of Rockland and Thomaston, and adjacent to Owls Head. It's comprised of three primary villages and several distinct sections: the town center, known locally as the 'Keag' (pronounced 'Gig') after the reversing tidal Weskeag River that flows through it; Spruce Head; and Spruce Head Island, a major lobstering port.
