This is a lovely large house, well maintained in a great location. It's exactly as appears in the photos and was comfortable for our extended family gathering. We had a wonderful time. The kitchen is well stocked so you can easily cook if you want. Plenty of linens and towels available. The house is 1/2 block from the edge of the downtown shopping and restaurants. Parking is tight at the house spaces but we were easily able to park on the street in late June with our extra cars. Everything was easy to get to and we entertained 3 generations with fun and appropriate activities for all. I definately recommend this house!

For my first visit to Maine , I couldn't have asked for more!! Bar harbor is the perfect spot- classic New England coastal charm with an artsy atmosphere. Plenty to see and do .Your home is lovely. There is plenty of space to bring along friends and family and still spread out. The kitchen makes it easy to eat in or go out to one of the many delicious spots in town- we tried most of them. The bathrooms allow for privacy among your guests and all facilities are updated and immaculate.Everything was available- linens, cleaning supplies, dishes etc. It is located in a quaint neighborhood. Just a short walk to anything and the surroundings inspire you to do just that- park the car and walk. We loved every minute of it and cherish the memory.

We rented this home because of its proximity to the lovely downtown area and nearby Acadia National Park. We found the house to be in wonderful condition with many upgrades. I rented it along with several friends and we all enjoyed staying in this home. It was clean, comfortable and afforded plenty of room to make ourselves comfortable in groups and large enough to grab some alone time if we desired. The walks along the water and downtown area were easily accessed directly from the house without having to move our car at all. When we had to drive into the Park for more extensive walking/hiking, we found it to be well worth the short drive with all the scenic overlooks and natural features. We would go again any time!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful, vintage home. I loved how the kitchen was totally remodeled yet the door knobs and heaters showed antique decorations. Less than a minute walk to Bar Harbor main street was a major plus. We went all over the Acadia National Park and at the end of the day came back to our cozy "HOME". Owner is really helpful in making the stay comfortable. Thanks again!

Excellent Vacation Home for Large Family

We originally chose this vacation home due to it's ability to house our entire extended family. Our 7 children and 5 adults fit very comfortably in this beautiful home. Being able to walk right into downtown only 2 blocks away was a real plus. We also brought our 7 year old black lab, who was very welcome in this dog-friendly town! The kitchen was nicely updated with granite counter-tops, and there was plenty of room for us to move around and cook for such a large family. We loved the close access to Acadia for hiking and the beach. We also LOVED the shore walk, which was about a 1 1/2 mile loop from the house right along the seawall. We went on the nature cruise, and the ocean petting zoo (the little kids loved this one). The big kids went sea kayaking and had a blast. We did not care for any of the 3 restaurants we ate at while in Bar Harbor - very pricey, and not great quality of fare. Be aware that the 2 car off-street parking is a real stretch, as we had an extremely difficult time getting a minivan and an SUV in there (I think one full-size car, and a Mini-Cooper would have fit nicely). The street parking is very tight, especially during peak season, and anytime on the weekend, so finding street parking was difficult. In all we had a fabulous time and are thinking if renting again next year. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend who was looking for a large house, especially for a family reunion type of vacation.
