  • Vacation in Treasure Cay

"Just returned from a week in Treasure Cay with our family of 5, we had a great time! Villa was Nicole equipped and very close to beach and pool. Would definitely go again some time!"

"As soon as we arrived at KOKOMO I felt the stress and worries of everyday living just melt away. We vaca'd with a Community couple and although the house is set-up as 2 individual living quarters, we all seemed to only use the beachfront kitchen that went directly out to massive cement veranda with that stunning Mermaid sculpture. We shopped, dived, snorkeled, kayaked, prepared scrumptious dinners, ate out locally, got to meet the Owners that I'd been e'ing for tips, etc. Fabulous couple. If you go, there's a perfect, pristine beach as you leave KOKOMO and head out to Queens Highway, it has a sign on the left that reads: CrocoMama (next to old Military Base) and the beaches are literally the most gorgeous we've ever seen and we've been to many, many beaches. The Owner equipped the house with everything you could possibly want; literally. It was SO MUCH BETTER than staying at a hotel. We loved the privacy and our own run of the beach and 2 dogs that show up faithfully to be fed and you could tell they loved their lifestyle....who wouldn't? We're telling all our friends and may possibly be back to KOKOMO. It is just the perfect place to wind down and forget all the busy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

  • Beyond Amazing!

"This was our first trip to the Bahamas and our expectations didn't come close to the reality. The turquoise, clear water and white sand beaches were exquisite. The snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing (with Neville) were amazing. And the Kevalli House was the perfect retreat. The owner, Bob, couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful, constantly giving us the history of the area as well as recommendations for dinner, hikes and snorkeling. The guest house was clean and well stocked even with great cooking knives! The screened in porch made for some very fun ping pong tournaments and for those who are interested, Bob has a large selection of DVD's to borrow from. It was quiet and the paths down to the dock or to the ocean on the other side were well maintained. There are two pavilions to chose from if you want to read in the shade overlooking the most incredible view you could ever imagine. We rented a boat from Minn's which we highly recommend so that you can easily get from Stocking Island into town and around the area. We gave this trip 5 stars. The only disappointment is that we had to leave...but we definitely will be back!"

  • Just Right for a Relaxing Family Get-Away

"Our family of four (two adults, two boys ages 15 and 12) stayed at Beach Walk Cottage for a week in November 2014 over Thanksgiving. It was perfect for us! We loved the convenient location - a short walk from just about everything including the fantastic, beautiful beach, the public boat dock, and restaurants (had a really delicious take-out Thanksgiving dinner from Island Flavors!). The cottage was well furnished, wonderfully decorated, and clean. The cottage is not luxurious, but it is cozy and comfortable. We really felt right at home. The wifi worked great and allowed us to stay in touch with life (emails and voice mails) back home in the USA. The screened in porch and deck were great for keeping our swim shoes, and wet snorkeling gear out of the way, yet handy for our next day at the beach. We would stay here again if we ever make a return visit Guana Cay!"

Bimini Travel Tips

Be Inspired by the Tropical Paradise of Bimini Vacation Rentals

The Biminis are a small group of islands that form the westernmost region of the Bahamas. The islands are located a mere 53 miles from Florida and the U.S. mainland, making them a favorite island getaway destination for Americans. The islands have a rich and colorful history, attracting personalities such as Earnest Hemingway who sailed his boat across to Bimini to enjoy some of the big game fishing he’d heard about. It’s here that he’s believed to have been inspired to write The Islands in the Stream and The Old Man and the Sea. Bimini has always attracted sun lovers to its beaches. Fishermen, scuba divers and snorkelers visit Bimini to take advantage of its underwater treasures as recreational activities.

Bimini Travel Connections

Bimini has its own international airport located on South Bimini. There are daily scheduled connections to Ft. Lauderdale in Florida, U.S. and to Nassau in the Bahamas. The flights from Ft. Lauderdale take just 20 to 25 minutes. When traveling from other parts of North America or Europe, these two cities are the two main hubs for flight connections into Bimini. Many regular travelers to Bimini like to make use of a seaplane charter service. There are numerous local charter companies that offer regular flights across to the islands. Because of its proximity to the Florida coast, many people sail or motor across the Gulf Stream to Bimini. Because it is a relatively short distance, even smaller sailing craft and fishing vessels make the trip across to Bimini.

Enjoy a Relaxed Island Vibe at Bimini Resorts

There are several luxurious rental homes based within resorts such as Bimini Bay Island Resort. The homes tend to be large and spacious, accommodating between eight and 10 people in four bedrooms or more. Beautiful ocean views, private boat moorings and golf carts to access the resort facilities make these homes an ideal vacation choice. Smaller condos suitable for honeymooners and couples wanting a more private holiday home are also available. Most vacation rentals are tastefully furnished and equipped with most modern conveniences.

Activities on Bimini

Bimini is known worldwide for its excellent game fishing opportunities. Located on the edge of the Gulf Stream, charters can take you to some of the best deep sea fishing sites in the world. World record catches have been recorded here.

For those with a more environmental interest, you can enjoy exploring the underwater wonders of Bimini's many diving and snorkeling sites. Walls, wrecks and colorful reefs offer excellent drift diving sites. One of the most famous sites is the Bimini Road. Large limestone blocks lie neatly aligned on the ocean floor and are believed to have been part of the road to the lost city of Atlantis.

Bimini is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches. The most popular beaches are on North Bimini near Alicetown. If you are looking for some tropical seclusion however, then head out to the Bimini Cays. Chances are you can find an idyllic spot all to yourself and enjoy tropical paradise.

There are several historical sites on Bimini that are worth visiting. For the best experience, book an escorted tour with a local guide so that they can fill you in on the history and culture of the island as you sightsee.

The tropical foliage on the islands is home to a myriad of colorful birds. Hear them calling and watch them hop between the branches as they curiously watch you watching them. The Bimini Cays are particularly good for bird watching and charters can be easily arranged from South or North Bimini.
