  • The Jewel of Roatan

"Our group of seven friends spent one week at La Diosa, and what a treat. We really enjoyed the house, and particularly enjoyed the ease of kayaking to the reef and snorkeling in the beautiful waters of Roatan. La Diosa was the ideal vacation spot for our group of foodies and the fish (grouper, snapper) from Snapper's store was very fresh. The large grill was perfect for almost every meal - fish tacos, hamburgers, ribs, even nachos. Adrienne was a tremendous help with organizing the reservation and answering all of our questions. Liz was attentive to our needs and helped us to find the most interesting and fun spots on the island (including music at BJ's...). The cell phones provided with the house eased our communication with the U.S. and on Roatan, this is a very nice touch. The house itself is perfect for a group of friends who want privacy but also interactions in the great room, by the pool, on the dock. The grounds include beautiful local and well-groomed vegetation. As we visited during the dry season, we never saw a mosquito and only encountered a few no-see-ums. The internet was a challenge, but Liz went the distance to keep us linked electronically. The two suites were beautiful accommodations for two couples. The smaller two bedrooms were fine for our group, but note that the residents in those rooms were required to shower in one of the suite bathrooms (or in the outside shower). All in all, we had a tremendous time in Roatan and will be back again to enjoy the hospitality of La Diosa and the friendly care of Adrienne, Liz and Ephraim."

  • Relaxing time at Pineapple House

"We just returned from a fantastic week at the Pineapple House. Dave and Trish were very helpful, as was everyone we encountered. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find a stash of board and card games which we enjoyed in the evenings after dinner. The bathrooms are spacious and the living room sofa was frequently covered by five large napping teenagers. Very comfortable! We were able to manage without AC until bedtime but it was warm when we were using the gas stove for dinner. The snorkeling off the beach and nearby dock were the best we have ever experienced and we've been to many places. The beach is a combination of sand and coral, so shoes (flip flops) are needed. The only drawback was the trash and garbage along the beach. One day after the wind changed direction refuse (including baby diapers) drifted in from the Keys on the beach in front of the house. Orlando cleaned it up late in the day. I also missed the pads on the lounge chairs. And yes, the sand flies are present. The best defense is baby oil. The sun decks on top of the dock made for beautiful sunrise and sunset viewing! Chef John prepared two excellent meals for our family that made our stay especially memorable. It was a treat to walk into the house upon our arrival to see Chef John ready to serve us. We also enjoyed a family-style meal made the house for us by Christy and Melvan from the fishing village on the Keys. Our trip to Water Cay was also a highlight. There were a few other people there when we arrived and it was peaceful. Then the party boats arrived with blaring music. My suggestion if you want a quite island experience - go early and leave before noon. Utila is a safe and beautiful island. Our family would stay at the Pineapple House again."

  • the perfect island getaway

"This rustic cabin was perfect for us. Everything is made of wood. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Town is in walking distance. The grocery store is only a block away. Nights are quiet, but entertainment is only a short walk away. The house and the grounds were immaculate. The house itself is very bohemian, very funky. It was a perfect island retreat. We loved everything about it."

  • Dream Honeymoon

"When can we come back!? We absolutely loved Villa Tranquilla and everything it entails. The pool is a few steps away and the beaches of West End are just a short three minute walk. Villa Tranquilla had more room than we needed plus all the amenities. We truly can't say enough about Roatan, Villa Tranquilla, and the generosity and friendliness of the owners and staff. Thank you for the perfect honeymoon."
