  • C'etait merveilleux!

Christiane (Allemagne/Rhenanie-du-Nord-Westphalie)"

  • Return to Rousillon

"This was our second stay in this lovelly village house. The house is welcoming and has a wonderful feeling of being loved. The owner, Clifford, could not have been more helpful even ringing us whilst on holiday to ensure everything was satifactory and that we were having a great time. Restaurant recommendations by Clifford were excellent. We lived the French lifstyle for a glorious week of walking, local markets and enjoying the village. It was wonderful to share Cliffords home in France and we left with a heavy heart, hoping to return again."

  • THE PERFECT HOLIDAY HOME FOR A FAMILY GROUP

"We were expecting a special place but were still very excited to find the facilities, decore and presentation of this lovely home exceeded our expectations. We were a family group of 11 with grandparents, and two families with 5 children ranging in ages from 13 down to 12 months. All found their own private bedrooms that were very tastefully decorated and sufficiently spaced from the others so that the younger children could sleep in while we enjoyed early morning breakfast in the loggia area beside the pool. Indeed we spent many long lunches and evenings around the huge table with the charcoal BBQ being very proficient at turning the fresh guinea fowl and meat from the many local markets into fine French fare. The kitchen was very well equipped with all the cooking utensils a master chef would need and equally there was a huge number of dinner plates and serving platters that made meal time so much fun. Our dealings with Karine to organise the rental were very prompt and helpful and our welcome was made especially warm by HERVE who kindly made the long trip to Nice to collect our daughter and family and bring them to Menerbe. The location of the villa is fantastic as it is close enough for a 15 minute walk up the hill to the quaint town of Menerbe and very close by car to the other hill villages. We did venture further afield one day to the medieval town of Les Baux where the kids loved clambering over the old ruins but the highlight for everyone in our group was the Quarries of Lights (Carrières de Lumières). Do not miss this spectacular light and sound display and allow at least an hour inside. We have stayed in numerousl HomeAway rental properties in France and although it is not cheap we would highly recommend this as a the best we have experienced and we all agree 2 weeks would be better than one. • Hoping to Return!

"My husband and I spent a month at this wonderful house. We had friends visit us while we were there and the layout worked well for us. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the courtyard for apres cycling drinks and appys and evening meals. Most meals we cooked at home with ingredients from the local markets. We have wonderful memories of bbq dinners and drinks with friends. We also had a couple dinners at La Petite L'histoire a wonderful small restaurant in the closest village of La Chene. The terrace overlooking the countryside is perfect for morning coffee. I miss it terribly! We had thought we wanted to rent a house in a village but after staying out in the country found that we loved it. We cycled almost everyday to a new destination. It was very centrally located to visit all the hilltop villages and superb cycling for all levels. The ambiance of the house is wonderful. Rustic, Provencal, creative. Some evenings were cool and the kitchen fire was wonderful for warmth and character. Internet was phenomenal. It worked on the terrace, in the courtyard, in the bedrooms and with multiple devices. Marine was very helpful with all questions we had and delivering our lost luggage twice! She met us at a nearby location to take us to the house. The house was clean and well-equipped. We would definitely recommend a stay here. And hope we can return :)"
