  • Unbelievably beautiful - Amazing family vacation

"This is what is must be like to summer at an old family place at the top of a Tuscan hill town. The views were spectacular from all sides of property. The place is even more beautiful that in the pictures. Angelo and Martina were wonderful hosts. Don't miss using the pizza oven -worth the euros to have Angelo spend 3-4 hours firing it up (a hot and messy job!). We found pizza dough at the larger grocery store near the train station - it's sold in long rolls in the refrigerated section, not the dough balls I was expecting. We had absolutely everything we needed either at the villa or within walking distance - including the oft-mentioned gelateria at the end of the drive. Cappuccino bar is just a little further up the main road on the left. Another don't-miss is the walk through town to the 180 degree overlook. There's not much in town itself (no touristy shopping for example) but it's unbelievably picturesque. A few notes/recommendations: This property is so charming and truly ancient in some parts. However, the inherent unevenness of steps/flooring and frequent level changes in the house made it a little treacherous for those with mobility issues, especially in the middle of the night. Not a criticism, just a note for those who might need to worry about that. The beds are hard. There's no way around it. I should be used to the Italian standard mattress by now but....ouch. No way to avoid a car rental. The drive down the hill to either the A1 or the train station is about 15 minutes and not walkable. We found that there was more variety and frequency of trains if we drove to Orvieto train station - about 20 minutes away. Orvieto should be a required stop regardless for anyone visiting this part of Italy. One of the most spectacular towns in Europe."

  • Perfection!

"My husband and I just returned from the most perfect week at Casa Spello. Our home while in Spello was Augustus and "home" is best way to describe the feeling of this spectacular apartment. It was appointed with everything we needed. Its location was ideal for exploring the charming town of Spello and surrounding Umbrian villages. And the sunsets?! Wow. We relied heavily on Gina's recommendations and, as a result, enjoyed some unique adventures and fine dining we never could have found on our own. From Nadia's warm welcome to our final goodbyes, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We'll cherish our memories of Casa Spello for the rest of our lives ... and hope to return again one day."

  • Return to paradise

"This was our second time to Campo della Fiora. We are family with 4 kids (4-14 yrs) and stayed in la Porcilaia for two weeks, just like we did two years ago. The place is wonderful and no photos can properly show the beauty and serenity of the place. The property and gardens are all well kept and the property manager Matteo is extremely helpful. We loved to stay and play at the pool and we will never forget our outdoor dinners where we could admire the magnificent view of Montone. There are several places of interest to visit within 0,5-1 hour distance, just perfect distance for a day-trip. This time we visited Cortona, Gubbio, Spoleto, Bevagna and also made a two hour drive to Firenze. Food supply, either supermarkets or restaurants, are within 10 minutes of car drive. We can recommend this place for anyone seeking peace and beauty. We will definitely come here again..."

  • Our stay at Villa Antico Tabaccaio!!

"Dearest Katia, Craig and I want to thank you so much for all the amazing things you did during our all too brief stay in Panicale. We loved every minute and you had a lot to do with that. All we had to do was show up, and you and your husband took care of everything. The village is extraordinary, the food was wonderful (thank you to your uncle, Aldo!) and the Villa was incredible. Best of all, however, was meeting you and including you in our family. It truly was an amazing trip - from beginning to end. I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed getting to know you. You will always be an honorary member of the family!! Love and many thanks to you, Margaret"
