  • Architecturally-Stunning Hilltop Oasis!

"Our trip to San Miguel de Allende was an amazing experience. From the beautiful views, to the delicious food, to the friendly people we came into contact with daily, our family had a vacation we will always cherish. However, one of the biggest reasons for our delight in SMA was that we rented this home. Not only did it have more than enough room for my husband, two children (ages 6 and 2) and my mother, the room that it had was perfectly designed and tended (the gardens/flowers were gorgeous thanks to Carlos), impeccably clean (thanks to the wonderful housekeeper, Ofelia), and gorgeously decorated. A circling staircase allows for the house to include a ground floor level which houses a kitchen, dining room and living room plus a garden patio for relaxing, a bedroom level which includes a master suite with a comfortable king bed and two other bedrooms plus one bathroom, and a rooftop terrace level (with its own bedroom/bathroom suite perfect for my mother) which allowed our family to enjoy coffee in the morning and ice cream at night watching the sun rise and fall! We utilized every square inch of the house, and loved being in all of the areas because there is natural light every where you turn, as well as access to windows or doorways for a beautiful breeze. Very often during our week stay we said that we would love to build a house like this one because so much attention was paid to where each window/terrace should be placed, or where the sitting areas should go according to where the sun hits the terrace, or where hidden skylights should be placed. Not only this, but the colors and fixtures inside provided cozy nooks for our family to read, relax and play games together. We really can't say enough about this house. A special thanks goes out to the house manager, Flor, who welcomed us with open arms, answered all of our questions during the week, and even gave us a lift to the gas station when we arrived late without having eaten dinner just so we could get something in our stomachs before bed. As you can see, we LOVED our trip and hopefully will be blessed by a return visit sometime in the future."

  • Laughing Children

"We spend 14 days in February 2015 in San Miguel and we were delighted with the home, the location and certainly with San Miguel. The house is any easy 10 - 15 minutes flat walk to the main parts of San Miguel but far enough away that the sounds you have in the evening are laughing children. We enjoyed the third floor outdoor area as well as watching hot air balloons come over the top deck nearly every morning. Both the property and San Miguel exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back. Patty and Dean"

  • The Ultimate Family Vacation Destination!

"We LOVED our time here and the comfort, beauty and location of your home. It made our holiday extra special. We so enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and the living room and the books/videos! We had our evening wine and guacamole up on the roof terrace every night and so enjoyed the sunsets and views. Each room has carefully been designed to maximize light, color and the framed beauty of the garden from the windows. The native Mexican artwork and furnishings are so lovely and each room in appointed with special color and features. If you love to cook, as we do, this is a VRBO paradise with everything you need and it’s all in good condition. We took a cooking class while in SMA and were able to return to the market the next day and recreate some of the dishes at the house with everything we needed to create a memorable holiday dinner together. The location was perfect for access to the whole city and yet quiet and private. We hope to return to Casa Escuela Bilingue for a future holiday vacation."

  • Our Best Vacation Ever!

"We always struggle about where to go on vacation. I love a hot beach and my husband cannot stand heat or sand. What we do agree on is that we both love great food. San Miguel proved to be a perfect match for both of us. Since there was no humidity, 80 degrees was very comfortable for both of us. The evenings were lovely and cool. The town of San Miguel is gorgeous; a riot of colors, music everywhere, epic shopping, street vendors selling the best tacos we've ever had, upscale restaurants everywhere and the surrounding countryside is full of opportunities to hike, go horseback riding and explore hot springs. Even if you don't speak Spanish, the shopkeepers and restaurant staff do, and they are all very friendly and helpful. I'm going to say it again: Don't miss the street food - it is simply the best, freshest way to eat authentic Mexican food. The beautifully furnished house is spectacular! It has a modern open layout which allows for great family time but there are also plenty of places to which you can escape for privacy. Take your pick from 3 terraces: one poolside, and two different rooftops. I recommend cocktails on the uppermost terrace with a perfect view of San Miguel at sunset. The lush garden features a solar heated saline hot tub and swimming pool, so we could bask in the warm water after a fun day exploring/shopping/horseback riding. The beds were all extremely comfortable, which we appreciated as we were happily exhausted at the end of each day. One word of warning, there are real estate offices throughout the town, and we have heard that many people come for a visit and end up buying a house before the week is over!"
