  • Move In Ready!

"Owners of this grand vertical condo in Grand Haven put much thought into accessorizing and stocking it with everything beautiful and practical you could need! Bring your clothes, personals and whatever you want to eat, and you're set. We loved the downtown convenience of the location and the private and quiet atmosphere of a true home away from home. Beds are comfortable, kitchen and bath are clean, and the artwork provides a pleasing atmosphere for a true vacation. You won't want for a kitchen tool or a forgotten personal care product. Just enjoy yourselves."

  • Charming and Secluded

"The Sandpiper Cottage is very well appointed and cozy and the location is perfect. The beachfront is gorgeous and uncrowded and it never felt as though we were sharing the space with the owners or guests from the other cottages. We had GORGEOUS views of the sunset and lovely bonfires around the fire pit every night. The photos accurately represent the rooms, the decor and the scenery. The beds are full sized beds, not queens and they do fill up nearly all the space in the bedrooms with no additional floor space for an air mattress. I would recommend the cottage for a party of 4, rather than 6, as the third sleeping area is the roll-out sofa in the living room. The living room is the area shown in the photos and the sofa bed is also the only sofa so it's not ideal for use as a third bedroom all the time. The sofa bed is best for a one-time overnight guest or small children. We had a party of 6 adults and had no problems sharing one bathroom as it is a nice size. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and is laid out well for several people to be working in it at once. This is really a place to spend time in the outdoor spaces and on the private beach, though, as it is very small. It rained one day during our trip and it was hard to share such intimate space with 6 adults, however 2 couples could be completely comfortable. We are a late night group and we were very lucky the neighbors in the Evergreen Cottage never complained. I would recommend larger groups (or potentially loud groups) also reserve the Evergreen Cottage for the additional space and privacy. Loading in groceries is not super easy, but if you are wearing the right shoes the walk is not that bad. There is ample firewood on site for evening camp fires and the garbage and recycling are emptied daily, which is a nice feature as I have stayed at other properties that offered no firewood or trash service. The one thing guests should prepare for is the lack of internet or cell phone service. Although not a rustic cabin, the location IS remote and we had no cell phone or internet service the entire stay. Some cell service could be acquired at the end of the driveway but for most internet usage we had to drive about a half a mile to the Red Rooster Tavern to try to get a signal. Anyone needing to work while on vacation should plan ahead for this. This is a great place to relax and unplug and enjoy the beauty of a Michigan Summer."

  • Fall Color Tour 2014

"My husband and I stayed here for three weeks in October 2014. The cottage is old, but quaint, VERY CLEAN and well stocked with everything you need for a long vacation. The beds were comfortable, and the fenced in yard was great for our 2 little doggies. Only a couple blocks off the rail trail and the downtown area, the location was perfect for us. I can't say enough nice things about Cathy, the owner! She was so welcoming and friendly and answered all my questions promptly when going through the booking process. Montague is a quaint little town that is perfect for a "quiet" get away, less people than Grand Haven or Holland area, so in my opinion much more peaceful and relaxing. The Hart-Montague Rail Trail is FABULOUS for runners/walkers/bikers and part of the reason why I like to stay in Montague. The cottage is only a short drive to Lake Michigan for sunsets or beach walking and if you are into dune rides, its less than a half hour from Silver Lake sand dunes. I would highly recommend the property and stay here again."

  • Wonderful weekend

"Great place for a writer's weekend. We couldn't get over how great the cottage was and wonderfully decorated. The owners were fabulous, making sure we had everything we needed. We would gladly return for another getaway. So much fun, cozy and comfy."
