Excellent Stay at The Carlyle
"My wife and I just finished our stay at this beautifully furnished apartment. The accommodations were fantastic. First Class Staff and Service. The location on Madison Avenue and it's proximity to Museums and Central Park make it a perfect location. We have visited NYC on many occasions, but this was by far our best experience. We look forward to our next visit."

"The key for us was the good location and great neighbourhood. Unit was also relatively modern and clean. King size futon style bed was firm but reasonably comfortable. Kitchen is somewhat small but workable. Bathroom is also very small but gets the job done. Unit is ideal for a couple.
Just a couple of observations -
We experienced a lot of noise (until 1.00am one night) from the unit above. I think they may have been doing some renovation work. Even so you do hear people walking about in the unit above even during normal activity. As the unit is also on the ground floor at the entry to the building you will hear people going through the two doors at all times, day and night.
We also ran the wall aircon unit at one stage just to cool the place down and would have to say it would be very noisy if you had to run the unit during a hot night. I'm not sure I could sleep with the unit running. As I say, good unit that I would consider again but some reservations about the noise levels due to being ground floor and immediately adjacent to entry doors.."

"Enjoyed being able to stay and feel part of the city. This property was clean and quiet- I only heard someone else in the building once and no traffic sounds. Bed and foldouts were comfortable and thermostat was locked but we were perfectly comfortable. Bathroom had a nice deep tub and for the four of us showing, never ran out of hot water. Sheets and towels provided and other things like blowdryer, iron, even q-tips available. Plenty of bedding and pillows. No problems with plumbing or running out of toilet paper. Plenty of lighting and kitchen was very nice to use. We didn't cook but did make things like oatmeal or heat up leftovers and never had a problem with any appliances. Even found a few things in the cabinet to eat once or twice (thank you- the peanut butter sandwich I made was a life-saver!) Followed directions on the use of the tv and no problems. Plenty of dishes to use and soap to wash them before we left. No freezer in the house fyi, just a mini-fridge. Front door does have a gap but locked well with a deadbolt so never felt unsafe, especially since we had the other doors to outside with locks as well as a gate so not really an issue for us. Beautiful décor and plenty of books and magazines if you need them. Borrowed the umbrella one in the fireplace one day which was another life-saver. Plenty of neighborhood markets nearby and a good pizza place down a few blocks (Olga's Pizza) that has large $2 slices and $1 drinks."
