"I would recommend this cabin for a family wanting some quality relaxing family time. Because of the lack of Internet and wyfi it makes you find other resources of entertainment. Reading, watching movies, walking, live conversations with family... or short trips to play in river or canoeing.. It was nice to just be still and rest my mind from the outside world. The cabin it self was beautiful and comfortably furnished. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking inside or outside. There was lots different styles furniture on both decks to fit anyones needs. We ejoyed a short trip over the mountains to visit West Jefferson. There were watched the process of making cheese and then dinner at Shattly Springs.. This would also make a nice retreat location."

"The place was great. The photos are accurate. Nice, peaceful setting. Everything worked, Plenty of hot water. Comfortable beds. TV reception was excellent. Well stocked kitchen. Banner Elk is small but has a Food Lion, coffee shop, and restaurants with reasonable prices. Boone is not far away and has everything you need. We were there in the summer and there was plenty to do in the area. Elevation is approximately 4100 feet which means mild summer weather!"

"The cabin was amazing. We loved staying here and hope to get to stay again someday! It is so well-located and we could get anywhere in the area quickly.
The house itself is way on top of a hill, accessed by a gravel road for part of the way. Make sure you learn both ways into the cabin because you can get to locations far apart quickly by accessing the correct side of the mountain. The gravel part of the ride is the most fun - the farm with fuzzy chickens, pigs, horses, donkeys, sheep, etc is so fun to drive by! Our kids (and us) enjoyed it every pass.
The house is clean, big, and luxurious. We cooked in every night and the kitchen has it all. Our kids played in the basement with the fun games while we had a drink on the porch, trying to drag out our nights as long as possible.
The view is glorious and every detail was just lovely. Thanks for letting us stay!"

"My husband, dog, and I stayed for a few days in this gorgeous mountain retreat. I wish we could have stayed longer! This cabin has everything you could possibly need to relax and unwind. We enjoyed sipping wine on the back porch, grilling in the backyard, and watching the sunset over the field behind the cabin. I was impressed by the great collection of science fiction novels they had as part of their "library". If you stay, be sure to read Ender's Game--it's a great novel! Thank you, Kathe, for the hospitality--your cabin is a delightful retreat from the ordinary."
