  • Best view in Little Compton

"We had a wonderful stay at this property. We were looking for a totally relaxing week away from our city life and we found it! The house is clean and comfortable. And the beautiful view of Little Pond Cove gave us a wonderful sense of calm and serenity. One evening we saw an amazing moonrise over the cove. The only addition that would make this house absolutely perfect would be a screened-in porch! (There are flying insects a-plenty in the evenings.) Otherwise we would definitely go back!"

  • Beautiful and spacious home; gracious owners.

"Jane and Jason's home was 'our' home for a few days and a long awaited family reunion. It truly did feel like home! From the loving and thoughtful touches to the great communication with the owners...from the great yard where my sons and grandsons played Thanksgiving games of football...from the overall cleanliness, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and ample area which allowed for both privacy and community gathering…we had a fantastic time. The home is set up with near equal living areas on each floor, which worked well for us. We had some late sleepers and some early risers and other diverse needs- it allowed us to accommodate all including the little ones very nicely. The Charlestown beach was just moments away; even in November, we had great fun running from the waves, collecting sea rocks and shells and even catching an early morning sunrise. We traveled into Newport one day to experience the Cliff Walk and other sites of interest and historic significance; we found it to be an easy half hour or so drive and we highly recommend it! Shopping was convenient with village stores a very short distance, and bigger stores for major shopping were an easy 10/15 minute car ride. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. We enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement, and the availability of sports balls and even bikes. We had a bit of apprehension renting from an independent home owner though the Homeaway site – we’ve only done it one time before. We took comfort from the fact that Jason and Jane had been listed here for a number of years, with well-spaced and very positive reviews. Our actual dealings with them were, from start to finish, outstanding. Their hospitality, generosity and integrity made it feel very easy and safe and indeed it was just that.Thank you to both for a truly great experience."

  • Family Vacation

"My family had a wonderful relaxing vacation at this beautiful summer home. The location was fantastic, close to the beach and a variety of restaurants. The house was comfortable for all six adults with plenty of room. The owner was very cooperative and made sure that everything was just right. I would not hesitate to vacation here again!"

  • 2nd time back even better than the 1st

"Our family of 6 adults and 2 children happily returned to Cliffside this year for another terrific week looking out over the Sakonnet River. It was like a homecoming - we had confidence that everything we needed was right there, from ample towels, kitchen supplies and lawn chairs to where to find the best grocery stores and restaurants. We returned to our favorites around Newport and Middletown, and then explored further afield into Tiverton, which is charming, and Jamestown, which is a boaters dream. The owner is great to work with being very responsive and straightforward with information and explanations and the pictures are very accurate except that they can scarcely do justice to the views. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, being very homey and not fussy at all, and she provides sets of towels in a different color for each person which is great so that folks don't easily get their things mixed up. Having a washer and dryer makes mothers very happy and makes it possible to not have to pack every piece of clothing you own in case of bad weather. The boating and kayaking are fabulous, the fishing is excellent, biking, walking, swimming, EVERYTHING is great here, because there is something beautiful to see around every corner, and water, water, everywhere! Everyone talks about Newport, which is a great place to visit, but Battleship Cove just 20 mins away in Fall River is historic, educational and its own kind of amazing, and New Bedford has a great harbor and the Whaling Museum, and Tiverton has terrific farm stands and lovely shops and a most scenic drive with stone walls of all sorts of picturesque types around its agricultural areas. So the location of Cliffside is quite perfect for staying home to relax with a great view, or heading out in all direction of the compass to explore, or finding anything you need in a very short distance from the house. We would absolutely recommend this property, and this owner to friends and relatives."
