What a gem!!
My husband and I travelled to this cottage after 3 days, in London. I had forgotten when we booked it, that Bampton was a significant filming location for “Downton Abbey”, which we have seen three times. What a treat to see it in person! We chose Bampton, as we wanted to be near the Cotswolds but also close to Blenheim Palace. The cottage is SO lovely and well outfitted. However…beware the ceiling height! My husband is 6’3” and I’m 5’3”. I sailed through every doorway, he needed to be far more vigilant which was pretty funny, for me. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. While we were busy during the day, we loved sitting by the log burner, in the evenings, and watching telly. We ate simple meals so the kitchen more than met our needs. The cottage is very deceptive from outside and far bigger when you get inside. The master bedroom and en-suite were wonderful. My only complaint would be that check in is after 6:00 pm. I’m not sure of the reasoning for this? While on a spring or summer day, when it stays lighter, later, we were driving in the dark with little light to help guide us. We drove past the driveway several times. Once upon a time we lived in the UK but that was 32 years ago. We are “right” side of the road drivers. Having to keep turning around on dark and narrow country roads, was definitely a bit vexing. Other than the check in time…the cottage is completely delightful and we highly recommend!

Beautiful Cottage
Sunshine Cottage is a marvellous cottage in the village of Bampton. There is everything you could possible need in the cottage from fully fitted out kitchen to lovely bathrooms one with a big bath if you are in need of a soak. The check in and check out we're both easy. The cottage is situated just a short stroll from the village with pubs, coffee shop, supermarket and a great very full second hand shop. We would recommend Sunshine Cottage to anyone who wants a touch of luxury in the Cotswolds.
