-- The Space -- After life as the "Many Pines" tree nursery for decades the property became a home in the 1950s. This cottage has since been tastefully renovated with a full bathroom, jetted tub, wood fireplace and living area with a fridge and microwave. When you step out the door 2 acres of streams, trees and grass welcome you. There is a large patio where you can relax and spend time with your favorite person in the hot tub or by the fire
Staying here feels like stepping into Colorado's past where history comes to life with every charming detail.
One of the best things about this property is its proximity to exploration and attractions. It's an excellent adventure basecamp from which you can head deeper into the mountains and visit Woodland Park or down into Colorado Springs within 10 minutes. Some of the highlights close by: - Pikes Peak - Garden of the Gods - Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum - Manitou Incline - U.S. Air Force Academy - North Cheyenne Cañon Park - Glen Eyrie Castle - Seven Falls - Hiking Trails - Mountain Lakes
We fully stock the cottage with coffee, tea, seasonings, dishes, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, towels and propane for the BBQ grill. Wi-Fi is provided and the smart TV has a couple paid streaming services logged in and others available.
We don't ask our guests to complete any chores upon checkout so you can make the most of your day.
The living area has space to cuddle up and read a good book, eat dinner, play games or watch a movie.
The yard on the property has plenty of space for activities and the patio by the creek is a fun common area where you can sit by the fire and listen to the water bubbling under the trees.
Whether you're looking for a cozy snowy winter retreat, visiting the mountains to see the fall colors or an adventure filled summer vacation the caboose can make your dreams a reality!
-- Guest Access -- Booked guests and pets enjoy private access to the cottage. You are welcome to take advantage of the hot tub, BBQ grill, yard and patio seating area and wade in the stream

Great stay. One recommendation would be a welcome booklet that explained use of the hot-tub, fireplace, nearby shops/restaurants to make it even better.

Thanks Seth and thanks for the feedback! We've already got a house handbook in the VRBO app (under reservation) and guidebook linked in the listing. Will see if we can add even more references to those
This was one of the best VRBO experiences I’ve had. The cottage was perfect in every way for my 5-night stay - super clean, lots of extra amenities (fireplace, outdoor hot tub, jetted bathtub), great little kitchenette, incredibly comfortable bed and the beauty of the mountains while close to town. The hosts were very responsive (I added an extra night at the last minute) and made me feel welcome. There are restaurants and local hikes nearby or just enjoy sitting outside among the pines (or by the fire if it snows!). Make some wonderful memories here!

We're so grateful you appreciated the location/amenities/details. Even more so, we appreciate your helpful feedback and being such a kind/caring guest! Hosting guests like you is a blessing. If you return we the fire, hot tub and all will be waiting!
We had a great weekend in Cascade, Woodland Park and Manitou Springs. The cottage is cozy and served our needs for two nights. The only suggestion would be to replace bed pillows but pillows are a personal preference. Also add a foot stool(s) for the chairs in the common area. The hosts were very personable.

We're so glad you had a nice time and really appreciate you giving us actionable feedback! We will put some new pillows in the cottage and see what footstool makes sense for the space

About the host
Hosted by Kimmy
Kimmy and Jesh fell in love on the opposite of the world in Abu Dhabi but both share a lot of the mountains and all things outdoors. Our huge “puppy” Dawg goes everywhere with us and would love to meet you if you are so inclined. If you have questions about anything Jesh has lived in Colorado Springs most of his life and can tell you all the best places to hike, bike, camp or visit
Why they chose this property
We wanted to live next to a year round creek and not feel trapped in a city. This location is nestled in the mountains but still be close to friends/family
What makes this property unique
It's hard to find a place close to all the activities Colorado Springs offers but still be in the mountains with the trees/water. On the property there is a full size Illinois Central Railroad caboose representing the historic railroad that used to run directly past the property 100 years ago
