A real gem of a stay!

This home was perfect for us 4 Americans traveling the Loire Valley. It’s in a great location, beautifully furnished and Marine was a wonderful host. She gave us great recommendations for things to see and do. We were able to walk to a street market, the cathedral, the chateau and even a great boulangerie and grocery store. There are several wonderful restaurants within walking distance. There’s also a cute little free bus that does a circular route-took us on a quick little sightseeing tour. But it was also a great location for us to drive out and see other sights like Chambord and Clos Luce. Parking is free on the street and we always found a spot. Blois is a hidden gem and this home is a jewel! We all hated to leave!

Great location for enjoying Loire Valley.

Our family of 5 stayed three nights. Very comfortable beds for at least 6. Wonderful showers and bathroom space. Lots of stairs to bedrooms which was not a problem for us. Nice refrigerator and coffee pot. Beautiful outdoor deck area to use. The person who met us had very little English but we figured it out. Some instructions in English at the house would be a plus. Parking was not included so we found parking about three blocks away for no cost. We walked 7-8 minutes to grocery store and little closer were bakeries for breakfast items. Restaurants also about that far away.

Great base for Blois walking and touring the Loire

This is a house of character with a cool patio to relax on hot days (it was unseasonably hot during our visit) and a lovely secluded front garden. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms for a couple and two single adults gave us plenty of space. Two of the bedrooms have bathrooms with toilets, and one of the first floor bedrooms has an en-suite shower and sink, with the toilet located on the ground floor. It is very well equipped. Though we only prepared breakfasts, cooking full meals was an option. There is also a washing machine and dryer which was handy. Every room is full of things that belong to the owner - lots of pictures, trinkets, souvenirs etc, and there is even a piano. So it feels more like you are staying at a friend’s home than an anonymous and impersonal hotel. The house is walking distance from the Royal palace, and the town centre, so we left our car parked and walked everywhere. There is a convenient temporary parking space by the front door for unloading the car, and some free car parking spaces across the street and a bit further up the hill. Marine was in constant touch by email for advice and support. We especially enjoyed L’Oratoire restaurant Marine recommended, with outdoor dining facing the royal palace, about a 5 minute walk away. We also thought the food and service at Poivre et Sel restaurant was particularly good. Aside from the chateaux and wine, we also enjoyed the 1 hour boat ride on the Loire from Marins Port de Chambord.

Great courtyard

Loved the enclosed courtyard; great place for food and drinks. Good location close to shopping and restaurants.

Une maison avec un âme !

Cette maison est très bien située, près du centre de Blois. Elle a vécu et on trouve mille détails intérieurs intéressants. La literie est bonne, la cuisine parfaitement équipée et la terrasse est très appréciable !

Une hospitalité rare et précieuse

Une maison pour un séjour heureux qu’il fasse soleil (un jardin ombré, plus une terrasse ensoleillée, plus une délicieuse arrière-cours) ; qu’il pleuve (l’intérieur, tellement cosy, se prête à tous les divertissements, à toutes les curiosités). Nous avons goûté l’extrême générosité avec laquelle cette maison s’offrait à nous. Une vraie hospitalité !

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans la maison de Marine.

Dans la maison de Marine nous avons trouvé une atmosphère chaleureuse et un excellent confort. L'équipement de la cuisine de la cuisine est très complet et la literie d'un excellent niveau. La situation de la maison à 5 minutes du château et du centre ville est idéale (très calme).

Idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Loire Schlösser

Schöne Außenbereiche mit kleinem uneinsehbarem Innenhof , der sich ideal an die Küche anschließt und somit als Eßbereich genutzt wurde, ein weiterer Eßbereich vor dem Haus und ein Sonnendeck mit Sitzgelegenheiten, jedoch ohne Auflagen (hätten wir sicherlich anfordern können). Im EG die super ausgestattete Küche, es blieben keine Wünsche offen, außerdem WZ und Eßzimmer und WC. Alles sehr liebevoll ausgestattet und eingerichtet.die 3 SZ mit 3 Duschbädern, 2 davon mit WC, ausreichend groß und viele Ablage / Hängemöglichkeiten. Die Treppe nach oben eher steil und schmal. Die Dielen knarrten recht laut... Die Lage zentral, einigermaßen ruhig aber nicht ganz ruhig, man ist eben in der Stadt und nicht auf dem Land. Parkmöglichkeiten auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite ausreichend vorhanden. Fußläufig zum Schloß Blois und zur Innenstadt. Schön fanden wir daß es eine reichahltige Ausstattung an Basisutensilien wie Spülmittel und Toilettenpapier gab, die man ja dann im Laufe des Aufenthalts wieder ergänzen kann. Gefreut haben wir uns außerdem über die Flasche Cremant zur Begrüßung im Kühlschrank. Fazit: Empfehlung für 6 Personen aber nicht mit sehr kleinen Kindern und Leuten mit Gehproblemen.

Agréable, magnifique, rien à désirer!

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine à la maison de Marina. Tout est très comfortable, tout l’équipement nécessaire! Centre Blois, deux beaux terrasses, un beau patio, à deux pas du château!

Un long week-end entre amis parfait dans un cadre idéal.

Magnifique maison décorée avec beaucoup de goût, mélangeant le neuf et l’ancien. Propreté irréprochable, lits d’un confort incroyable et calme assuré. Je recommande à 200%.

Agréable et bien stué
