Whitecap

In a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of sunshine, Glen Craft is ideally located with warm prevailing southwest breezes to our sandy beach and cooler north-westerns over our treetops. Surrounded with Michigan woods, right on the crystal clear waters of Big Glen Lake, yet located 1/2 mile from Glen Arbor and about 2 miles from Sleeping Bear National Park Dune climb this is the perfect spot to enjoy days at "home" and days out exploring the local area.

Smooth, softly sloping sand leads to Glen Lake, just outside your door. Children love it, and adults can relax alongside them. Children can even wade all the way to the anchored raft. We also have a lakeside firepit with log stools, a dry sauna, small laundry facility, row boat, paddle boards, shuffle board court, beach chaise lounge chairs. Picnic tables, and two kayaks. The peaceful 100' + sugar sand beach is shared with two other villas, but not crowded at all.

Whitecap offers a full kitchen, spacious living/dining room with gorgeous lake views and a field stone fireplace, bath with shower and two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with two twin beds. There is also a queen size pull-out couch in the living room. Thermostat controlled electric heat.


Furnished/Unfurnished Items:
Cable TV, DVD player and wireless internet provided.
Gas grill and beach chaise lounge chairs.
Fully furnished kitchen is complete with range/oven, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster. Blankets and pillows are furnished. Kitchen soaps & bath soaps provided, but no shampoo. Linens and towels can be provided at an additional charge.

Reservations are confirmed only by advance deposit of 50% the total amount.

Check-In/Check-Out Check in anytime after 4 p.m. Friday, and check out is 10 a.m. Friday promptly.

Pets - In order to honor reservations, we request that all pets be left at home.
No Smoking in Whitecap or a fine of $150 will be assessed.
Must be left reasonably clean to avoid a cleaning charge of $150.
The cottage is rated for 5 guest, but 4 guests is recommended.
At no time can more than 5 guests be on the property.
Cancellations within 60 days are honored if the time of booking is re-rented.

Wonderful Stay

My partner and I had a lovely time. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. The beach was super relaxing and it was a super easy walk into town. Great location if you plan on bouncing around as well since you're 15-30 minutes from some other towns.

This place is the perfect up north getaway. There are tons of activities to keep everyone busy, the water is beautiful and was already warm by Memorial Day this year. The owner was responsive, welcoming and gave us some great siteseeing & hiking suggestions. My family and I highly recommend this place!

Perfect way to relax, renew and enjoy life!

Everything you need to enjoy a great vacation. The Villa and property has it all. Great views, quiet beach, excellent water sport area and all the comforts of home. Lots of things to do like sleeping bear dunes, walk into town, hiking, biking and much more. Glen Arbor and the surrounding area is a perfect place for families or couples looking to get away.

Amazing time!

This is an excellent spot for families. I could not recommend more. My 3 year old was devastated to leave. Clean, easy, and fun. Also, Chris was an excellent host. Will be booking again!

Glen Arbor is a beautiful place to get out and explore!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and comfortable! The cabin is close by many attractions. The owner was extremely helpful and even sat down with us to show us a map of many places to check out in the area. You are right on Glen Lake and there are paddle boards available to use and coming home to a nice fire in the fire pit by the lake was a plus. The drive to many locations is only 2-15 minutes away. You can rent bikes downtown if you didn’t bring any but I wish we would have brought ours. If you can, bring bikes! So many places to bike too.

Perfect Summer Family Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful week with our boys (1.5 and 4). The private beach and lakefront of this villa is pure magic and why we think this place is so special. Lake Michigan can be cold and rough in June so it was wonderful to be able to enjoy Glen Lake and not freeze! The shoreline is a huge sandbar making it perfect for little ones. We loved that we could run out of the villa right onto the soft sandy beach every day and enjoy all the sand toys and paddle boards provided. Chris is a great host and the neighboring villa guests were all very friendly.

Great family getaway

Well kept, reasonably priced, conveniently located cabin on a gorgeous lake. Great setting for families with children. Helpful and knowledgeable host. Missed it the minute we left.

Family Friendly

Chris and his wife couldn’t have been better hosts. The cottage was great and better in person than in the pictures. Super clean and very well maintained. Definitely noticeable pride of ownership as every aspect is covered that made our stay unforgettable. The beach and water were perfect for our family. We definitely recommend and we will be looking to stay again in the years to come.

Great Experience

Chris was an outstanding host. The cottage was cozy and clean. The view was so beautiful. There was so much to do in the area, although we enjoyed just sitting by the lake and enjoying the view. We will return for sure.

Perfect lakeside vacation!

Glen Lake is absolutely Beautiful! The property sits on the lake and is very charming! The beach, the view and the lake access are spectacular! Our hosts were wonderful, very accommodating and responsive. We appreciate the use of all the water toys and other activities on the property. We had SO much fun and really enjoyed our family time! It is such a wonderful family atmosphere, so relaxing and perfect for kids of all ages! The property is VERY clean and so well maintained. We had everything we needed for a great home base for our stay. Glen Arbor is a quick bike ride away which was terrific! The owners take such pride in maintaining this wonderful, peaceful place. We feel fortunate we were able to enjoy the week there and hope to visit again.

A jewel in paradise!

Whitecap was the perfect launch point for a great vacation. Close to town, on the Heritage Trail, adjacent to Sleeping Bear Dunes... It’s hard to ask for more but the villa itself, right at the water’s edge of beautiful Glen Lake, could not have been better. We enjoy every minute of our stay and Chris was an extremely gracious and helpful host. Can’t wait to get back!!

great getaway close to everything

Had a great time with my family. Quiet amazing beach that the kids could enjoy and we could have peace of mind (water only 3 ft deep out around 100 yrs off the beach). Short walk or bike ride into town. I'd highly recommend a stay...or two to relax and enjoy life

Great stay!

Upon arriving we were greeted by the generous host, Christian. Christian had a great attitude and was always available to assist us if we ever needed anything or had any questions. The property was nice and very well taken care of. The Villa was excellent! It was clean and had everything we needed. We loved the beautiful view of Glen Lake from the large window of the villa. Glen Lake is absolutely gorgeous and we had such a great time during our stay. Also, the location was awesome, only a short drive to town and local attractions. We can't wait to go back, and will definitely be referring Glen Craft Villas to our friends and family.

We loved it here!

The cabin is small but was comfortable for our two grown daughters and us. The cabin has the charm of an older building but has been impeccably maintained and improved over the years. Faucets, bath fixtures, carpet, counters are clearly updated. We loved the view of Glen lake, and we appreciated being able to use the row boat, paddle boards and raft. The grounds and beach are also beautifully maintained. Loved it! Chris is kind and responsive to any needs and/or questions.

Whitecap is part of Glen Craft Villas, which has been family owned and operated since 1947. It is meticulously designed and maintained for guests. While my grandpa Krull purchased this property from the sawmill almost 100 years ago, the other grandpa Field was a legendary architect in the area and designed some cottages after Frank Lloyd Wright. We are the 3rd generation hosting visitors here. We have enjoyed having families grow up summer after summer here at our villas on Big Glen Lake.
